What spf rating is the hat?

The Norvan Mesh 5 Panel Cap has not been tested or certified to meet UPF standards; therefore, we cannot guarantee a specific level of SPF/UPF protection for this hat. In general, our hats with a UPF 50+ rating are designed with more complete sun coverage and have been specifically tested to meet that standard. The Norvan Mesh 5 Panel Cap is a lightweight, breathable cap and does not provide complete coverage, which is why it is not UPF rated. Question 2

Does this cap cover the top of your head? Or also the top is mesh? Because if it is mesh then I don’t see how it can really protect from direct sun? Other brands do a similar mesh however the top is covered (e.g. OR swift air).

Hi Lorilo, thanks for reaching out. The Norvan Mesh 5 Panel Cap features a tricot mesh construction throughout the entire cap, including the top panel. The design prioritizes maximum breathability and airflow for high-output activities in hot conditions. As a result, the top of the cap is not covered with a solid fabric panel. If your primary concern is maximizing protection from direct sun exposure on the top of your head, you may prefer a cap such as the Aerios 5 Panel Cap, which is made with a fast-drying 15D nylon double weave fabric. does it have a flexible brim

Hi there, thank you for your question. The Norvan Mesh 5 Panel Cap uses a recycled polyethylene board brim, which gives it a lightweight, semi-structured feel. The brim is not fully soft, but it does have some give. Like most performance running caps, you can slightly bend, curve, or shape the brim. However, the brim will hold its shape rather than fold or pack completely flat. We hope this helps!

Care says do not wash.  How do you recommend cleanning after a sweaty or dirty run?

Hi Chrissy, great question! To clarify, when the care instructions say “do not wash,” this refers to machine washing (and drying), which can sometimes deform the brim and compromise the cap’s structure. For this reason, we do not recommend running the cap through a standard wash/dry cycle. If the cap gets sweaty or dirty, we suggest cleaning it by hand instead. We recommend using lukewarm water, a small amount of mild soap or detergent, and a soft brush or cloth to clean the hat gently. We recommend rinsing it thoroughly afterwards to wash all the soap away and letting the hat air-dry. We hope this helps!
