Never one to focus on a single aspect of climbing, Dale is an accomplished all-around climber and skier. His passion depends on the season, feeling equally happy on steep ice, traditional or sport climbing and of course using pointy things on rock. As an AMGA/IFMGA certified guide, Dale spends much of his time encouraging climbers and skiers through guiding. Whether mountain climbing in Switzerland, climbing long alpine routes in Rocky Mountain National Park, or tackling classic ice routes in Alberta, Dale loves teaching new climbers how to achieve their goals. Recently he has been focusing on classic Alps Alpine routes and getting back to 5.13 rock climbs after a major shoulder surgery. You are just as likely to find him working sport routes in Kalymnos Greece, climbing long desert cracks at Indian Creek or seeking thin ice in the Ghost River. Whatever his endeavor, his quiet determination and love of the mountains will generally ensure success with a smile on his face.
