Question 1

did kopec replace aerios fl gtx

Seymour, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi Pam, thanks for reaching out. The Kopec GTX line and the Aerios FL GTX line have the same intended use case, which is to be an all-season hiking shoe with waterproof protection for day hikes and minimalist multi-day treks. The Kopec builds on that use case with updated materials and construction. We hope this helps!

Question 2

Can they me worn in the snow?

Luna · Accepted Answer

Hi Laila, thank you so much for your question and for checking out the Kopec Mid GTX Boot! These boots are designed as lightweight, supportive, all-season hiking boots for varied terrain, and the waterproof, breathable GORE-TEX ePE membrane helps seal rain and snow out. While the boots can be used on snow, they’re not intended for immersion in water or snow. For heavy winter conditions, you might consider pairing them with gaiters for extra protection. We hope this helps!

Question 3

What length are the shoe laces?

Luna · Accepted Answer

Hi Tillie, thank you for your question and for checking out the Kopec Mid GTX Boot. The laces used are 114 cm long. We hope this helps!

Helio, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi Meghan, thank you for reaching out. The heel-to-toe drop for the Kopec Mid GTX Boot is 8 mm. We hope this helps!

Question 5

what is the weight for the boot

River · Accepted Answer

Hello Bill, the Kopec Mid GTX Boot weight 350g.

Question 6

Are these boots vegan? Are any other of your footwear vegan?

Dave · Accepted Answer

Hi there, great question! It is highly unlikely that animal by-products are contained in the majority of Arc’teryx products excluding down, wool, and leather products. However, with the complexity of apparel and footwear supply chains, we, unfortunately, cannot guarantee this.

Question 7

Hi there. I’m thinking about getting the orange ones but wondering if I take them out in muddy wet conditions whether the white sole will be ruined pretty quickly. Would it be better to wait for the black ones to come back into stock instead? Thanks.

River · Accepted Answer

Hello, great question about the Kopec Mid GTX Boot. The white rubber sole is designed to handle rugged outdoor conditions, including muddy and wet environments. Rubber is relatively easy to clean after your adventures—just wipe it down with a damp cloth or use a gentle brush with soapy water to remove stains. If you prefer a look that requires less maintenance to keep it pristine, the black version might be a better option for you when it's back in stock.

Question 8

If I wear an orthotic should I size up a half size?

Sophie · Accepted Answer

Hi Carmen, thanks for your question! Our footwear fits true to size, so a half size up should be sufficient to accommodate an orthotic. However, we recommend trying the shoes on in-store with your orthotics to ensure the best fit.

Question 9

Hi there I had the Aerios FL 2 Mid GTX. Are these the replacement? Is the ankle the same height or higher so more of a boot? Thankyou

Dave · Accepted Answer

Hi Suze, great question! The Kopec Mid GTX Boot is currently the closest item we have to the Aerios FL 2 Mid GTX shoe. While the height is similar, the Kopec is designed for longer hikes on shifting terrain.

Question 10

How durable is the sole when used daily on pavement? I am a package delivery driver and walk over grass, wet and dry pavement, and sometimes snow. Would the Acrux boot perhaps be a better choice? Thank you.

Dave · Accepted Answer

Hi there, great question! The Kopec Mid GTX Boot can definitely be used on pavement or mixed terrain. For daily use, we recommend going for the Kopec line over the Acrux line.
