Question 1

I am concerned by the number of reports of pockets failing because they are not stitched. Now that I've read that I don't think I can risk buying a pair. Is this a design flaw?

Joseph, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hello there, thank you for your question. The Gamma SL Short uses bonded pocket construction, which is an intentional design choice rather than a design flaw. These pockets are designed to provide durable performance under normal use, and the vast majority perform as intended. If a bonded pocket were to experience delamination due to a manufacturing issue, our Product Service team would be happy to evaluate the garment and discuss available options. We understand your concern after reading other reviews, but isolated reports do not necessarily reflect the typical performance of the product. We hope this helps provide some confidence as you consider whether the Gamma SL Short is the right choice for you.

Question 2

What happens when the glued pocket fails

Dante, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hey there, thank you for reaching out. The pocket construction on the Gamma SL Short has been designed to provide durable performance under normal use. However, if the bonded pocket were to fail due to a manufacturing defect, our Product Service team would be happy to evaluate the garment. Depending on the nature of the issue and the condition of your short, we may be able to offer a repair or discuss available warranty options following inspection. If you experience any pocket delamination or separation, please submit a Product Service request along with photos of the issue, and our team will be glad to review it and advise on the next steps. You can submit a request here: https://arcteryx.com/ca/en/help/product-service/service-request. Please let us know if you have any other questions.
