I bought this for my brother since he’s always cold. These baselayers are the best. Great for extremely cold areas and you can still dump heat by unzipping. Love polartec. Looks great even after more than 2 dozen washes.

this is my favourite winter base layer layer. Great fit and excellent thermal properties.

I'm 6'3" and 215 with a slim tending toward athletic build and I love the fit of the large. It offers me full range of movement in a variety of activities while providing warmth and an attractive garment.

I bought my usual Large size and found this to. be very small. More sized like a medium.

Got this for Christmas, and you can immediately feel the quality. It is so warm! I’m a ICU nurse and I wear this in the unit and I am never cold. I will be purchasing other colors. My only con is the sleeves are little long for a long, but I can deal with. PLEASE PLEASE make this in a crewneck version. This material is great! I’d love to wear it under scrubs without the added turtleneck.

I bought this a little while ago and I have fallen in love with it. The Medium size is form fitting for my 145lbs frame and 32inch waist line. The material is so warm and soft on the skin. This is great as a base layer or as a stand alone piece to be worn out on the trail or town.

i have other pieces made with the same fabric so i know exactly how it will perform. slightly concerned about zipper, as it lacks a flap or garage, one reviewer took issue, but so far no complaint here, need more time. there seems to be a great many comments and concerns about fit, and i'd like to address: i'm 6 5 (194cm) 220 and fairly athletic build. very lanky. XL fits me perfectly, as i want it to fit, which is to say, very fitted. it is a BASE LAYER, in case anyone missed that. you MAY fit a snug t-shirt underneath, but that depends on size ordered and your build. the arms are slim, the wrists are very slim. this is fantastic, and exactly what i hoped for. now my wife does not have to modify the wrist to fit properly. you will not be wearing a watch under this, or anything else. it is a snug wrist, designed to keep wind out and fit well under other garments. this is how a true base layer should be designed, which is rare. bravo.

The material is great, the feel of the fabric is good as well, style is on point but the fit is too tight. I had to a size and it still hugs your body more than normal.

Für Schottland im April gekauft. Jeden Tag 18-20km mit 19kg Gepäck in den Highlands gewandert. Nach 4 Tagen immernoch kein unangenehmer Schweißgeruch. Bis jetzt sehr zufrieden. Es sitzt wie angegossen, verrutscht nicht und zwickt nicht. Habe die passende Hose dazu, dafür gilt gleiches.

Only a few weeks and I'm living in it. Soft, stretchy, feather-light, and smokin' warm. Easy to layer and slightly windproof so can stay dry and not sweat it out.

I have the full color run in these and nothing beats them for dealing with the frigid Colorado winters!

Really nice cozy fit and very warm but its not merino. As soon as you do one day skiing this and sweat its catches a smell really quick and clings onto it. Wore it for my first day skiing and a obviously got abit hot throughout the day. Couldnt wear it for any more days that wrrk. I stuck to my 260 knit merino top that i wore all eeek and didnt smell one bit by the end of it! As i say really warm base layer but any high output activities and its going to start to smell real quick! Wouldnt buy synthetic again for a top. Merino all the way. Highly suggest the rho heavyweight bottoms though.

These base layers are perfect for cold days on a hike are even at home. I typically wear a Arc'teryx short-sleeve shirt underneath.

I have had a chance to wear my Rho heavyweight top 3 x now & I love it. I’ve worn it as a first layer and the fleece is very nice next to your skin. I also tried it 2x as a second layer & it is very warm, almost too warm for me. I love the new color as well. The top is high quality that I have come to expect from Arcteryx & so far have not been disappointed.

The Arc'teryx Rho Heavyweight Zip Neck pullover is the perfect addition when an extremely warm base layer is required. The quality and attention to detail is superb. The Polartec Power Stretch Pro material is awesome. The nylon outer fabric increases durability and eases putting on additional layers. I'm looking forward to using it during frigid winter conditions in the Rockies between 12,000 - 14,000 Ft. I do recommend sizing up one size. I am 5'-11" tall and 41.5" in the chest and have always purchased Arc'teryx jackets and tops in size Medium. However, I had to return the Men's Medium and ordered a Large. The Large is still fitted but the stretchy Polartec fits great. The Forage color is beautiful, as is the Black Sapphire.

Purchased for ski patrol work. Shortly after I received it, temperatures at my local mountain dropped to single digits. The Rho, over a wool zip neck base layer and under my uninsulated patrol jacket, kept my torso comfortable. This is an excellent, 4.5/5, garment. For me to give it a 5/5 rating I would make two changes; first, add a zipper "garage" so that the metal zipper doesn't touch my neck when fully zipped, and second, take 1 1/2" out of the body girth (it feels a bit too full - doesn't fit as trim as the on-line model). The shoulders, neck, and arms are great. The sleeve length is 5/5 too.

I bought the light and heavy half zip; and I absolutely love it. Game changer...why haven't I been an arc'teryx man my entire life... heavy weight size up XXL for me and light weight true to size XL. Just buy both! Want more if I can sneak it buy the wife. Very soft both don't wear with an undershirt. The bomb.

I purchased this base layer as part of cold weather layering system for activities I undertake each day. Fleece underline is really soft and warm. With only one layer more underneath and a softshell it is perfectly comfortable up to -5 degree celcius. Zipper makes it easy to shuffle layers if necessary. Quality of fabric is first class. I am 188cm and 90kg man and it fits perfectly. Good buy.

i owned an Expedition Fleece from a competitive company for probably a decade and loved it. I wore it for all kinds of activities. lost it a year ago on the golf course on a brisk fall day. was perfect, no bulk and warm. Took me a year to find this garment and i couldn’t be more pleased. I'm wearing it constantly. Fantastic piece supported by Arcteryx’s amazing warranty. you can’t go wrong! Highly Recommend

I already have the light weight version of this product, it works great in the spring and fall but not warm enough to winter activities. This heavyweight version is AWESOME!

Love the feel of the Polartech, fits well thanks to its form fitting stretch. Warm for hanging out our out on the trail. Great base layer for cold days.

What makes this product unique is that this is a form fitting baselayer that has some actual weight and insulation to it, where just about every other baselayer in the market place is paper thin. My favorite thing to do is fly fish for salmon and steelhead during the fall, winter and spring months in the Pacific Northwest, which involves being outdoors for several hours at a time and during that time period my activity will range from a fast hike for 10 to 15 minutes to little moment at all for about an hour long period. After wearing this baselayer for the first I knew I would never want to wear another baselayer again (that is how good it is). A true story; last March I was steelhead fishing on an Oregon coastal river, when I decided to wade across to fish the other side of the bank. Just as I was about to complete my journey to the other side I stepped on a submerged log that I was not aware of and took a brief swim in water that was about 45 degrees (Air temparature was about 50 degrees). Once I got myself upright I was mad with myself because I would have to go back to my car and change clothes as you don't want to be drenched and cold for a long period of time (My other pieces of clothing were wool socks, wool shirt, and pants which were athletic warm-up pants). When I crossed back to the other side and started walking back to my car I realized that I was not cold, and decided to turn back and cross the river again to fish the desired spot. When I did make back to my car (which was about an hour later), I felt great. Had I not gone through the experience myself I would have never believed it. Please keep making this shirts every year (bring back the "Soulsonic" color). I don't know if any other baselayer out that has close to the performance capacity as this one.
