Question 1

How does this jacket's insulation/warmth compare with the Atom jacket or the Mionn? I'm trying to get an idea what season this jacket would be intended for? Thanks!

Hi there, thank you for your question. The Diode Insulated Bomber uses 100gsm Coreloft™ synthetic insulation, whereas the Atom Jacket/Hoody and the Mionn Insulated Jacket each use 60gsm Coreloft™ synthetic insulation. While we don’t assign specific temperature ratings to our garments since warmth can depend on factors like activity level, layering, and personal comfort, the Diode will generally feel warmer due to the higher level of insulation. The Diode Insulated Bomber is designed as a breathable, lightweight insulated layer that is best suited for cool conditions in the fall, winter, and spring seasons. We hope this helps!

Question 2

The Mionn insulated is a bit tight for me in my regular size M. Is this Diode Bomber Insulated more roomy aka tru-to size? Btw the "summer" Diode bomber fits me perfectly

Hi there, thank you for your question. Both the Mionn Insulated Jacket and the Diode Insulated Bomber are Regular fits, but the Diode’s bomber style gives you a bit more room compared to the Mionn’s streamlined cut. Here’s a quick look at the Medium measurements:

Mionn Insulated Jacket
Chest width: 120.5 cm
Waist width: 118.5 cm
Hem width: 117.5

Diode Bomber
Chest width: 125 cm
Waist width: 120 cm
Hem width: 106 cm

Diode Insulated Bomber
Chest width: 125.5 cm
Waist width: 119.5 cm
Hem width: 107.5 cm

Since the Diode Bomber fits you perfectly, your usual size should work well for the insulated version, too. And just in case, we offer free returns, so if, after trying on the jacket, it doesn't fit your needs, you are welcome to proceed with a return. Question 3

Hi, I would like to know if the jacket is comparable to the Mionn IS 2018, especially regarding warmth. Thanks.

Sophie · Accepted Answer

Hi Tommy, thanks for reaching out! While both jackets feature Coreloft™ synthetic insulation and DWR finishes, they differ in design intent and warmth levels. The Diode Insulated Bomber is slightly heavier at 565g and offers more robust insulation, making it better suited for cooler conditions. It’s designed to retain warmth even when damp and provides added durability and water repellency, which makes it a solid standalone piece for light weather protection. The Mionn IS Jacket from 2018, on the other hand, is lighter at 430g and was designed more as a transitional layer. It’s packable, breathable, and ideal for layering or wearing on milder days when lightweight warmth and stretch comfort are key. While they share some technical similarities, the Diode Bomber offers more warmth. We hope this information helps.
