Less practical than it ought to be

Okay for cities but not for wild country, because the jacket has no snaps for backup when the zipper fails. Not as warm as it ought to be, because there is no way to close the bottom of the jacket and because the hood cannot be closed tightly around the head (nor can the closure be adjusted easily, let alone wearing mittens or gloves).

The hood is a joke. Look at photo, it does not cover sides of face or eyes and cannot be adjusted to. It is a clear design failure which has been ignored on many of the down insulated coats, ie. Therme, Thorsen, Ralle, etc. A hood is intended to protect, these do not. When you are in wind and cold and the hood does not protect face you will wonder why Arcteryx screwed this up. Then you will be sad you spent all that money for a coat that is seriously flawed. What say you Arcteryx?

Pretty good, but zipper issue is real

For basically a thousand dollars you’d expect this jacket to be warm, durable, and look good. Which for the most part it does. But the zipper issue is real, and for 1k the zipper is the last thing that should be causing issues. Honestly kinda crazy you guys shipped this. It gets caught constantly and I feel like I’m going to break the jacket getting it unstuck.

Ne vaut pas le prix

Bonne veste mais incomprehensible qu’a ce prix, la fermeture ou zipper principal soit d’aussi mauvaise qualité… et ne parlons pas du SAV… apres avoir contacté par email, on m’a envoyé à Paris Madeleine pour faire réparer sur place, ce qui a été fait, et tenu… 48 heures… pour devoir immobiliser 3 semaines la veste en l’envoyant en Hollande. Très mauvaise experience client. Je ne racheterai plus de produits de cette marque. La qualité est en train de laisser petit a petit la place au marketing et au storytelling… malheureux….

Looks smart and very warm

Love this coat - Got it to be smart enough to wear for work but also for really cold days when I know I'm going to be outside for a long time. Does the job very well and also the parka style is great. Bought in Tatsu green which makes a nice change from standard black or blue coats.. Sizing and fit is perfect.

Very happy with my purchase so far. Top quality jacket. The only thing I would change is to make the pockets deeper. As there are no hand warmers, it would be nice to be able to put my hands deeper inside.

¡Cremallera lamentable!

El día 6 de enero de 2025 compré la chaqueta por la web.
Desde el primer día la cremallera fallaba, costaba mucho colocarla y al caminar o sentarse la cremallera se suelta y sube. A las 2 semanas decido contactar con Arcteryx para ver que solución me dan.
Hoy día 24 de enero de 2025, después de un par de mails me mandan las instrucciones para la devolución, cito:
"Seleccione siempre la opción "muestra"
"Declaración de valor: inferior a 18 EUR"
¿Realmente alguien envía por Correos a Suiza un producto por el que ha pagado 900€ por un valor inferior a 18€? ¿En caso de que se pierda el paquete, recibo una compensación de 17€?
¡No me esperaba un servicio postventa tan pésimo!
¡NO OS COMPRËIS ESTE MODELO DE ARCTERYX!

Great jacket, terrible zipper

Very warm, great fit. Hood is fabulous, fits well with great peripheral vision.
ZIPPER IS A PROBLEM. Low quality and broke. Tried to get fixed (both at store and by mail) but was told it would take 4-6 weeks and I cant spare the Jacket during the coldest weeks of the year. Dissapointing cause rest of coat is amazing.

I was just about to buy this jacket then read this (along with multiple other zipper issues)... For $900, I would expect better quality and certainly a replacement for a broken zipper on a new coat vs giving the jacket up. That's rotten customer service. Shame on Arcteryx!!

Good jacket for canadian winter

Nice jacket, very warm for winter here in Quebec, I recommend sizing down because I usually wear large and it was way too big for me so returned it and grabbed a medium. The zipper look a bit cheap for the price but overall great jacket.

Just as warm as my CG if not warmer, especially in the wind. I’m 6ft 175 lbs and got the medium, I think it fits a tad bit big, but I’m ok with it given the super high performance. I tried the small and it didn’t work around my chest/arms.
This jacket is great.

Apocalypse Level Insulation

Keep thinking I have a temperature, but it's actually the coat keeping me warm. Great on a windy Atlantic facing beach.
Lighter than the Jack Wolfskin it replaced, but it's warmer. Nothing wrong with the Jack wolfskin either.
Well worth the money if you are at risk of mid winter power outages, becoming homeless, getting stuck somewhere in the middle of winter.
It's wind proof, waterproof and already described, super insulating.
I'm 6ft 3 and nearly 19 stone, bought the XXL thinking that the XL would be too small, but with hindsight, XL may have been sufficient.
Only complaint is that the exterior rustles more than my Jack Wolfskin.

Wonderful jacket. Warm and nice to carry. Great in windy and rainyconditions. Love the parka styled Arc jackets. I'm normaly XL but this one was to big for me so downsized to L. (196cm)
The only thing I miss is a inside pocket with zipper.

Perfect every day city coat

Just got the Ralle down parka to replace a parka I bought last year that was too bulky and warm.
I’m very happy with my choice. The Ralle is light, but very well-constructed. For most of the winter I think it will be warm enough on it!’s own, and I can easily add a layer for the few days that drop below -20. I think it will make an excellent every day city coat.
Size-wise I was good going with my normal size, which leaves me room to add an extra layer.

Like a Therme Parka from a few years ago

The new Ralle Down Parka fits like the Therme Parka from 4-5 years ago and this is a good thing. If you're looking for a more slim/fitted look for a parka then I suggest sizing down 1 size from your normal Arcteryx size. This makes a great city coat. Tried the current Therme Parka and noticed that it was very loose and boxy around the waist stomach area. The down in the Ralle Down Parka also seem more substantial when just holding them in comparison. I normally where a medium Atom LT and Cerium but purchased a small Ralle Down Parka which fit great.

Is the Ralle is warmer than the Therme? I have a Therme from 2018 in size small but a medium in everything else. Now looking for more warmth and more room for layering. So was thinking size medium Ralle down is the ticket.

Lightest parka ever and very stylish

Super light weight parka! I’m usually a size for XL for Arc’teryx products but I got a large and it fits snug but not to tight . I’m 5’11 226 Ibs. Unless you want to really layer up I suggest sticking to your actual size.

I just tried it on with a hoodie Size XL (which is typically what I wear) but with the parka size L the fit is perfect with the L parka on.

Super nice Parker for urban lifestyle. It’s nice to have similar pockets to the outdoor gear to have everything in the accustomed place. Size depends on what you want to wear below. I choose one size smaller than my outdoorgear.
