tl;dr: they are not durable, hurt pinky toes, smell awful and feel sticky while wearing barefoot . DURABILITY: after just a week of use, the tissue just behind the heel and before the outsole flattens and creates an ugly “step” the area of first contact of the outsole with the ground is totally flat like Vans. Therefore, it wears unevenly and extremely fast (a few weeks is enough to start seing the damage). A shoe advertised as “approach walking” should have a curve in this area to avoid premature wear… the white model gets permanent stains from pretty much anything that touches its upper! I had a little mud stain after a few days of use, tried anything and everything to clean it but it just didn’t go away. FIT: the toebox is not wide enough. They say it’s a shoe to relax the toes between climbs at the crag? This is totally misleading! the toes are squished because of 1) the narrow toebox and 2) the hard plastic toe protection which creates friction and blisters, even on a short approach walk FEEL: THEY SMELL AWFUL - which is not the case with my other shoes. Advertised as “can wear barefoot” ? They are so sticky and uncomfortable while barefoot that I never want to wear them without socks. Between climbs my feet are sweaty which makes it even worse “breatheable upper” ? I sweat like a pig in these shoes as soon as temperatures rise a tiny bit - especially towards the toes since that part is totally insulated by hard plastic. Other than that, they are comfortable with socks but as I said, can’t walk with them very long or it creates blisters on the pinky toes. It’s very convenient to just slide them on. They’re definitely the best looking slip-on shoes ever made… but there are so many things that are wrong. What a shame because with a wider toebox, more breathable non-stink mesh material, cork sole if it’s supposed to be barefoot to avoid stickiness… it would be the best walking/travel shoe ever made.
