I got this for my husband a couple of months ago as he was jealous of my atom hoody. He was immediately pleasantly surprised when wearing it out in a light rain. It immediately shed the water. It is now his go-to jacket for most activities. He does feel a bit more nervous about snagging it in bushes or thorns so it may have limited durability in some environments.

Great news! I did your shopping for you, and after looking at every mid layer jacket known to mankind, this is the best bang for your buck on the market. It looks amazing, it’s not too puffy, so perfect for under a shell (I have the gore-Tex rebird anorak). So by itself it’s warm enough till you need mittens and a wool cap (“toque” if you are Canadian), then you put it under a gore-Tex shell and you have a water proof, wind proof, all terrain winter jacket. Done!

This is my favorite lightweight jacket. It is comfortable, fits great, and is very warm. I just bought a second one in another color.

I bought this jacket during the spring sale and waited till now (Nov) to write a review about it because I live in SE Texas and it rarely gets too cold here. I like how this jacket is so light and comfy that I could even sleep in it. It is a great jacket for those who want to ascend to Dead Bird from normie brands for the flex.

Works great as a midlayer. I use this under my Beta AR because it doesn't have a hood, and my Atom LT hoody as a standalone piece and midlayer under jackets that have stormhoods. This and the hoody version are becoming my favourite pieces of clothing, they are very comfortable and the fit is spot on. They don't restrict movements at all. Only thing I'm worried about is the durability of the face fabric, it feels a bit delicate. I've had a few branches brush against the fabric but luckily no rips so far. Lighter colours might stain easily, so be wary of that.

Bought this specifically as a mid layer for high output cold weather hikes. I have tried many mid layers over the years and always had the same issue, they did not breath. I’m excited to say that I think I finally found the holy grail! This jacket is light enough to pack, warm enough to wear as an outer layer most of the time, and breathable enough to hike in. Once you stop, simply throw on a shell or down jacket. Great addition to my cold weather gear collection. Very happy with the Atom LT.

This is easily the most versatile article of clothing I've ever owned. To call it a "jacket" is a misjustice as it does so much more. Have had my black Atom LT for 6 years and it's just now showing signs of pilling and wear. I'm talking 6 years of DAILY use, commuting to work on my bicycle, walking around the city, or relaxing at home. Either stand-alone or layered, it's become a second skin. Rarely does a product come around that everyone should own, and this is it. Get one. You won't regret it. I've since bought two hooded Atoms, but the collared version is still my go-to.

Hubby has worn the Atom jacket and vest for many, many years. It is perfect for the Pacific NW weather. The elasticized panels aid the range of motion and layering capabilities. Although he strongly prefers the function of the hood, I prefer the collared jacket as it looks slightly more dressy. The jacket is nearly indestructible. I subtracted 1 star due to the unavailability of larger sizes, specifically 3xl.

I recently brought an Atom LT jacket in the new Timelapse colour. The colour is much more green than it looks on the website where it looks more blue so that was a disappointment that what came didn’t look like what I ordered based on the website photos. The delivery also came a day later than the UPS notification, I waited in all day only to get another email at 5pm saying it was arriving the next day :( It was also packaged in a box that was probably too small so the jacket has folds/creases that look like they won’t drop out. Not a great experience overall, although the jacket is comfortable lightweight and warm

Started with a heavier piece of Arc gear- the Fission SV- but it became apparent that this is the main “entry” piece for most. I picked this up spring of last year, and being a mainly Patagonia person until this point, I was pleased to find the fit worked even better for my 6’3 200ish lbs athletic build. Perfect arm length, hem landed juuuust right. Plus, as someone who runs warm, this jacket works for me into the high 30s/low 40s. Really a great piece of gear. I grabbed the Binary colorway just recently to get some color variety- only had the Flux (reddish) colorway until now. With the updated model it seems my only small gripe- the loose zipper- has been fixed! Great gear

Great jacket overall, but don’t use in areas where the face fabric can get snagged on something such as thick brush or briars. Mine ripped quite easy after getting stuck on something. Part of why I’m willing to pay a premium for arcteryx gear is the warranty / repair program. Well in this case it’s not doing me any good, I submitted the repair request and was quoted 5-7 weeks to simply start the process. It’s been nearly 12 weeks since I submitted the form and still haven’t heard from anybody to start the process. Pretty disappointing.

Great jacket. Either in spring/summer/sutumn as single jacket or as baselayer under a rain jacket. Use it for both walking and cycling. Very durable although lightweight material.

I came across this brand several years ago and it is great to finally find a Men's XS that actually fits me. Since I struggle to find quality products that fit me I now own several different types of their jackets and they all work great.

I purchased one of these in black and it's got to be one of the best (synthetically) insulated jackets I've ever worn. It's comfortable, lightweight and works either on its own or under another jacket or shell. I've been wearing it under a Zeta AR and Interstate Jackets. Both of these are sized Large and my Atom LT is an XL. I'm somewhat between sizes, where I find XL shells too large and Large (slimmer fitting items) to be too small. The Atom LT is definitely a must have jacket, whether you get it with or without a good.

I've been wearing this for over several months now and I still love it! Works excellent as an outer layer for trips around the city. I run hot so it's been warm enough for my needs even for parts of winter. Wore it in -15 Celsius with just a t-shirt under and was still fine. This also worked great as a mid-layer for my skiing trips. My only gripe is how expensive it is, especially at full-price. If you can get it on sale, however, I would 100% recommend!

I bought this jacket early last fall. I have used it right through the winter. In the shoulder seasons its worked great as a full jacket. When skiing it is a great mid layer. Its super comfortable and flexible making it easy to wear for any activity.

I bought this a few months ago as a mid layer for my Arc’teryx Interstate Jacket (Proteus). It works perfectly together, and the two Proteus colours match.

I bought this jacket for my husband last year. It's very light and warm. The Arcteryx brand is equated to the best in class. This jacket doesn't disappoint when it's in use.

Great as a layer for skiing or general purpose outdoor aerobic use in cold weather. Warm enough to wear about town, probably not warm enough for cold temperatures where you're standing around. Great fit, lightweight. My go-to jacket for skiing base layer or wearing out and about.

Ich persönlich habe die LEAF-Version dieser Jacke. Als ich die Jacke bekam, viel mir direkt die hochwertige Verarbeitung sowie das sehr geringe Gewicht auf. Ich hatte diese Jacke jetzt den ganzen Herbst, Winter sowie im Frühling an und ich muss sagen ich bin begeistert. Dies ist wohl die beste Jacke die ich bisher besessen habe. Ich war meistens zwischen -10°C bis +20°C (je nach Wetter natürlich mit entsprechenden Baselayern usw.) damit unterwegs und ich war erstaunt wie gut sich diese Jacke an seine Umgebungstemperatur anpasst und ich somit immer ein angenehmes Tragegefühl hatte, ohne das mir kalt wurde oder ich anfing zu schwitzen. Bislang sind mir nur zwei negative Punkte aufgefallen: 1. die seitlichen Reisverschlüsse können sich manchmal etwas im Material verfangen, das kommt jedoch nur sehr selten vor. 2. durch den niedrigen Schnitt am Halsbereich, zieht der Wind an kälteren Tagen ohne Schal natürlich etwas unangenehm am Hals vorbei. Wer dem vorbeugen möchte kann zur Kapuzenversion dieser Jacke greifen, welche einen höheren Kragen hat. Dennoch falls mir diese Jacke jemals kaputt gehen sollte, würde ich sofort eine neue bestellen. Klare Kaufempfehlung meinerseits.

I bought this primarily as a casual jacket that would look sharp and not too outdoorsy but also had features way beyond a typical fashion brand. It does that but to an even higher standard than I was expecting. It has clearly had a lot of thought put into the design, not just in terms of the features but the fit & feel. For such a light jacket it is ridiculously cosy and the panelling means it works with a range of body types. Even the cuffs are brilliant! The only negative is that the hem drawcord is a little bit fiddly to loosen but that's hardly a day to day issue. So, from buying a fantastic casual jacket, I've actually ended up with a fantastic jacket that works anywhere from around town to instant warmth on the hill. Very highly recommended.

I recently bought this jacket as a layer whilst hiking in the winter. It is amazingly warm, but not as breathable as I’d hoped. That said, it is designed as an insulating layer mainly. I would happily recommend this product.

Fortunately, I was able to visit the Arc'teryx La Brea Store here in Los Angeles, to try on the jacket before purchasing, as it’s listed as a ‘Trim Fit’ vs my Atom AR which is a ‘Regular Fit’. While the LT is trimmer, it’s not by much. At 6’1”, 185 lbs. with a 43” chest and 34” waist, a Large in both, leaves enough room for layering. As I have slender wrists, the cuffs on the AR and LT, are a bit looser than I’d like, with the sleeves being about an inch too long. The reason for purchasing the LT, is that the AR was a tad too warm for most cold days here in Los Angeles, especially when wearing my Beta AR, so I wanted something more breathable. As for the quality of workmanship and materials, they’re second to none, though I do wonder how well the cuffs on both will hold up over time, as the material doesn’t appear to be as resilient as plain elastic cuffs, though they are infinitely more comfortable. With regards to sizing, I came across numerous posts by members of the Arc’teryx team stating that sizing across the various product lines is the same. Unfortunately, I found that not to be true, as a Large Kyanite fleece fit like I was a kid wearing his dad’s jacket. Whereas a Medium, was too tight in the chest, shoulders and arm pits, which was the case with all the Arc’teryx fleece I tried on. One last point I’d like to mention, is in regards to the Arc’teryx naming scheme when it comes to colors. While clever and all, a brief description of the colors would be helpful, as the photos don’t always match the actual color of the item.

This is the best jacket I have ever had. Was skeptical at first because I don’t like puffy jackets but it’s not really puffy at all. I wear this jacket every day and want to get another color. The best thing about this jacket is that it “knows” whether you’re hot or cold. When you’re cold it keeps you warm. And when you’re getting hot it starts to breathe. Seriously, I’m never uncomfortable (hot or cold) when I’m wearing this jacket. And it has held up to my abuse very well. I wear it every day and I’m not gentle on this jacket but it hasn’t started to show signs of wear after 2.5 years. Buy this jacket, you will not be disappointed!
