Question 1

Does the 2026 model still have the piling issue I have seen mentioned in reviews?

Amelie, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi Chan, thank you for your interest in our Kyanite Jacket. Pilling can vary depending on how the garment is used, how often it is worn, and what materials it comes into contact with. Factors such as friction from backpacks, outer layers, or repeated abrasion can all contribute to pilling over time. While fabric and construction may evolve between seasons, we cannot guarantee whether pilling will or will not occur, as it is largely dependent on individual use and care. We hope it helps!

Question 4

Is the Kyanite jacket in any way treated with silver nitrate? Any other biocidal?

Called the company and the answer is "Yes". While I understand the utility of silver nitrate in preventing odor, that goal seems trivial in comparison to the potential and even likely, damage caused by exposure to biocidals.

What is the temperature range

Hi Geok, thanks for reaching out. The Kyanite Jacket is designed as a versatile fleece for low-to-medium-output mountain activities. We do not rate our garments for temperature as there are too many factors that influence this result from person to person, and we recommend referring to our layering guide for more tips on staying warm: https://arcteryx.com/us/en/shop/layering-guide/
