Question 1

The zip why is it so awful and cheap in such a costly jacket

River, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hello there, thank you for your question. The Cerium Hoody features a streamlined, lightweight zipper intentionally selected to support the jacket’s overall performance. Every component in the Cerium is chosen to maximize warmth‑to‑weight efficiency and packability, and a low‑profile zipper helps keep bulk and grams to a minimum. While it can feel more delicate than heavier zippers, its design aligns with the Cerium’s purpose as an ultralight, highly compressible insulation piece.

Question 2

Two part question: Will the mongoose colour be restocked soon??

And, I have a 2021 Cerium that is too tight across the shoulders. Has the fit been updated or should I look at sizing up?

Seymour, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi Mary, thank you for reaching out. While we do not have an exact return date for the Mongoose colourway, stock will fluctuate as we move through the seasons. We recommend using the “Notify Me” feature, subscribing to the Arc'teryx newsletter for up-to-date information on products, or looking to authorized Arc’teryx retailers for any additional item availability. Regarding sizing, the fit has been revised since 2021, and we recommend referring to our sizing chart and fit guide with your current body measurements to help find the right fit. We hope this helps!

Question 3

spot cleaning advice: I have a spot on my Cerium light blue jacket, on the hood. I don't know what it is but soap and water as well as Shout didn't do anything. What spot remover product can I use safely"

Seymour, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi there, thanks for reaching out. For spot cleaning a Cerium jacket, we recommend using a small amount of Dawn dish soap or Nu Down Detergent diluted in water. Gently work the solution into the stain, let it sit for a short time, then wash the jacket following the care instructions. This approach is usually the safest way to treat marks without damaging the fabric or insulation. We hope this helps!

Question 4

how's the jacket in the rain?

River, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hello Yvette, the Cerium Hoody features a FC0-DWR (Durable Water Repellent) finish that helps shed light rain or snow, offering protection in short exposures to moisture. However, it is not designed to be waterproof, and prolonged exposure to wet conditions will eventually allow water to penetrate. Because the insulation is down, if it becomes wet it will lose much of its ability to retain warmth. For full protection in sustained rain, we recommend pairing the Cerium Hoody with a waterproof shell.

Question 5

Does this contain PFAS?

Helio, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi there, thank you for your question! The FW25 Cerium Hoody Women's does not contain PFAS (Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances). This piece uses FC0-DWR, a fluorocarbon-free, durable water repellent treatment used to shed light rain and moisture without using PFAS. We hope this helps!

Question 6

Which is warmer, this Cerium hoody or the Atom SV hoody (former Atom heavyweight hoody)?

Luna · Accepted Answer

Hi Lyne, thank you for your question! We don’t assign specific temperature ratings, since warmth can vary by individuals. The Cerium Hoody is a great lightweight down jacket that delivers incredible warmth for its weight. It’s best for cool, dry conditions and features Down Composite Mapping™, which places synthetic insulation in moisture-prone areas and down where you need maximum warmth. The Atom SV Hoody is the warmest piece in the Atom family. It uses synthetic insulation that keeps you warm even when damp and offers more abrasion resistance than down. It’s a great choice for mixed or wet conditions, though it’s heavier and less packable than the Cerium. If you want a lightweight packable jacket, go with the Cerium. For reliable warmth in damp or variable conditions, the Atom SV is a great choice. For extra tips on layering and staying warm, check out our https://arcteryx.com/ca/en/shop/layering-guide/. We hope this helps!

Question 7

Does the hood fit over a ski helmet?

Helio · Accepted Answer

Hi there, thank you for your question! The Cerium Hoody features an adjustable, helmet-compatible hood. However, the hood is better suited to fit over smaller climbing helmets rather than larger ski or snowboard helmets. For the base size, size Medium, the Cerium Hoody Women's has a hood opening (when untightened) of 59.2cm, a hood width of 50cm, and a hood height of 32.5cm. If you are looking for an insulated jacket with a hood that fits nicely over a ski helmet, we recommend checking out some of our jackets designed specifically for skiing. We hope this helps!

Question 8

How type of down is used?

Seymour, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi Devin, thanks for reaching out. The Cerium Hoody is insulated with 850 fill European white goose down for an exceptional warmth-to-weight ratio. It also features Down Composite Mapping™, which strategically places synthetic insulation in areas where moisture may build up and down in areas for maximum warmth. We hope this helps!

Question 9

Bonjour . Comment la secher sans seche linge ? Est ce déconseillé ?

River · Accepted Answer

Question 10

If i go skiing, should i put another layer on top of this? Or would it be enough by itself?

River · Accepted Answer

Hello there, the Cerium Hoody is an exceptional midlayer, offering lightweight warmth with premium down insulation—perfect for cold, dry conditions. However, if you're heading out skiing, we strongly recommend wearing a GORE-TEX shell over it. While the Cerium provides insulation, it doesn't offer protection against wind, snow, or moisture, which are common on the slopes. Pairing it with a shell will give you the full performance layering system: warmth from the Cerium and protection from the elements, so you stay comfortable and dry all day.
