Arms too short

I usually wear XS in sportswear jackets and XXS fits me best in this style. Unfortunately, while the shoulders and waist fit well, the arms are way too short for both warmth and style. If Arcteryx made this jacket with longer arms it would be perfect.

One of my favorite fleece jackets ever.

I bought a Kyanite jacket in boxcar (green) in January. It's my favorite color and I loved the jacket so much, I bought another one right away. I recently took the Kyanite on a two-week fishing trip in Patagonia-- I wore it most days on the river and then often wore it to dinner at the lodge. Amazingly, the jacket still looks nearly new. Note that I typically wear a medium in sportswear (athletic build, 5'4", 125-130) but a small fits me perfectly in this jacket. The lower arms are usually snug on Arcteryx jackets, but this is a little looser and fits just right.

I do really like this. I went with the other reviews and sized down and it fits well. The arms a bit short but otherwise despite its light weight it is warm. I was unsure it would be warm bc of how thin it is but it’s lovely soft quality and warm. I wear it at work to the hospital.

Warmth for a rainy autumn day

I have 3 kyanite jackets and warm like a hug on a rainy day! Comfortable and nice to wear a light vest under if needed in evening. Wash and hang to dry looks new after many vigorous outside adventures. I also wear in winter under a rain coat.

Fit is great, quality/fabric not so much

I absolutely love the fit and style of this jacket, but I'm very disappointed with the fabric/quality as it pilled after only a few wears. I've had it for 3 months, with minimal use, yet it looks old due to the pilling. Perhaps I got a defected one or quality has just gone down. My husband has an older version of this style in men's and his hasn't pilled at all.

I Love My Kyanite!
This is my second one. It's my go to when I just want a little bit of warmth. I do notice a little bit of a difference between the previous version and this new version. I love it as a layering piece under my Atom. The Kyanite is a versatile jacket!

Not a big fan of this revised version

I bought a black Kyanite LT hoody (the old version) in November 2022, and love the cut, which makes me look 5 lbs skinnier. So I purchased this one with no hoody. But this revised version is a disappointment. Same size M no longer fits. It looks like size L on me. Waist and shoulder areas are more loose than the old version and the sleeves are too long. I am 5’5” and 138 lbs.

So soft and warm !

I recently bought this jacket, and I have worn it many times. It is warm, but a comfortable warm where I don’t overheat. Also, I wore this during light California drizzles for 30-45 min walks, and my jacket did not feel damp or affected really. I did size up for a looser fit, but I feel it would still be comfy if I had gotten my recommended size (true to fit).

Super cozy fleece that fits perfectly. I'm 5'4" 125 lb and ordered the XS which is fitted and not baggy. Love Snyth color. It is bright fuchsia and looks good on almost everyone. Will be wearing this every where.

Got a size down from my shell size and it fits great. Very comfy, cosy and warm. Super soft inside. Great midlayer under a shell or standalone for everyday use. A tiny bit long at the back on me but otherwise a perfect fit!

My FAVOURITE fleece ever!

I got this as a mid-layer for colder scrambling, hiking and climbing. And literally the first time I put it on in store I yelled "wow it's SO warm!", I was so impressed! The inner is so soft and warm, the outer is quite durable - I have put this jacket through so many washes already and it's holding up super well! I'm slightly obsessed with the phantasm colour too. Now in the snow season I've been wearing it as a mid-layer while skiing. This might be one of the Arc items I wear the most!

The Kyanite AR Jacket fits all my hiking and running needs in the cool months of the year. It’s just the right amount of layer and warmth and the fit allows movement of my arms without restriction. I also wore this under a wind resistant jacket while sailing and it was the perfect combination to keep me warm and dry and still allow me to move quickly around the sailboat. For reference, I am 5’ 2” and weigh 110 lbs.and the XS fit perfectly. The Crystal Fern color is a nice diversion from the black and greys I usually wear.

Simple and functional

It looks this year Arcteryx is experiencing supply chain challenges for the fall items are rolling out slowly and many items are still not available online in November. I checked other retailer's website and it's the same story. Usually I would have purchased everything I need by September. This new Kyanite AR jacket didn't catch my attention at the beginning but I'm very happy with it when I received it. I appreciate the simple and functional design. It is classified as AR but I'm surprised it is very light. It is light but warm. It has a more loose fit design than the other Kyanite but I find this is more comfortable. It is a good midlayer or standalone. I like it so much that I ordered another colour and I wish there's more colour choice like the hoody version. It is worth paying $200 for a simple, light but warm fleece. Simple is good.

Style meets function and performance

I have the Kyanite LT hoody and wear it all the time. I wanted the same fit and performance but a little bit more fleece. This is it! The jacket move with you. It fits slim, but is not restrictive. For reference, I am 5’2”, 112 lbs. and the xs fits great in both the Kyanite Lt hoody and this jacket, the Kyanite AR Jacket. I normally go for black, but decided to try the crystal fern. It’s a real nice color!

Warm, flexible, thin, and light. I love how versatile the jacket is, it can be worn on its own or under a shell. It’s perfect for cool fall days. It fits very well, without adding any bulk. The collar without a hood holds its shape well and keeps the neck warm.

I got this jacket as a Christmas present for myself in the colour Momentum. I layered this with my winter jacket during hikes and I am loving it as a spring jacket right now. It is quite breathable and I have washed it a handful of times and have not noticed any pilling. This works as a great mid layer because it is form fitting and not too heavy. I highly recommend it! The deep pockets are also a big plus!

Softest Fleece I’ve Ever Felt

I bought this as a fleece mid layer for under my rain jacket during these chilly fall months and I couldn’t be happier with it. Excellent cut, I feel like it hugs me just right. Phenomenally soft fleece that keeps me perfectly warm. Would suggest everyone have a mid layer jacket like this one. My only complaint, which is entirely on me and nothing to do with Arc’teryx, I wish I would have purchased a small. I lean more towards small when I want a warm base layer, and mediums for outer layering and this time I bought a medium when I should have gone small. It still fits me great, I just wish it was a little tighter fit for keeping out draft.

Warm, cosy and stretchy but not very durable

I’ve had this jacket for about 6 weeks and it’s been used mainly as a layering piece but occasionally on its own as a warm layer. I’m 5.9 and wear a size M, the fit is perfect. The longer length at the back means it doesn’t ride up, there is no readjusting needed. I love that it’s stretchy, it doesn’t feel like you’re wearing a fleece.
My one complaint is that after wearing it once while carrying a daypack, the back of the jacket is now pilled. I was expecting it to be more durable.

Comfy & does the trick - but some minor issues

The most comfortable, effective fleece I have ever had. Perfect for layering under a ski jacket, or for warmth while hiking, or just as a jacket to take camping in summer. My go-to adventure layering piece.
A few minor issues though with the fabric, zipper and cut.
The fabric does pill somewhat, so it doesn't look as fresh as when I first got it only a few months ago.
The zipper also will only "hold" closed at the top or at 2 specific spots, otherwise will run itself down to the bottom. This is obviously a deliberate design choice, and works fine as long as you are happy with the zipper to be open, closed or in one of those 2 positions. Unfortunately for me the combination of where those zipper stops, and the way the slightly too long collar flopping over means this jacket is not super flattering on me.
It means that its not my go-to jumper for wearing around town on a cool day, which is a real shame because it feels great and works well, just doesn't look as great!
But super fit for purpose and will wear any day in the mountains where I don't care about how I look so much.

I just love this fleece. I ended up buying a second one in a different colour to go with my Arteryx jacket (dimma). The first one I bought was size small (labyrinth) and the second is medium which allows me to wear a heavier sweater underneath it. They are both wonderful.

Je suis contente d'avoir trouvé une 2e couche aussi extensible et confortable! Le modèle sans capuche est très pratique en multi-couches. Je l'ai acheté pour mes activités sportives hivernales, mais finalement il est si confortable que je le porte aussi au quotidien pour me garder au chaud.

Just picked up this piece. Weather cooled off a bit ( Saskatoon,SK) - the Kyanite was just perfect with a a t-shirt indoors this weekend.
Multifunctional, fits nicely to layer with my shells for outdoors and the extra length in the back is cozy warm.

Great light fleece jacket

I have been looking at this for a long time with a hood, but purchased the fleece jacket instead. I'm totally happy also since the color dimma wasn't available in a hooded jacket. Dimma is a very dark purple color that I love! Light enough to layer under a shell or use as at work inside. I got a medium although almost ordered a small. For reference, 5'6" 148lb with broad shoulders. The medium is comfortable and looks fitted.
