There are two inescapable facts about Amity that belong between quotation marks. One: she’s a “chronic optimist,” and two: if you manage to send your project while she’s around, she’ll bake you a “sendy dessert”— in the oven of her camper van. Born for the road and drawn to monumental challenges, Amity is one of the most determined and motivated climbers in the world. She completed the first female ascent of Idaho’s Enter the Dragon (5.13+ R), and was the fifth woman ever to free climb Yosemite’s El Capitan in a day. Born in Loveland, Colorado, she’s lived on the road since 2018. As a practicing sports dietitian, a nomad’s life isn’t easy, but neither is anything she does. Her climbing superpower is trying really, REALLY hard. She loves being on the go, throwing herself into a hard project, and climbing everything she can. She thrives on the mental and physical challenge of pushing herself to the limit and is never afraid to work hard for something she cares about. Amity confesses to being over-stoked and somewhat short on patience. She will jokingly tell you she prefers 'rest nights' over 'rest days' but her favorite downtime activities include cooking, jumping in a good swimming hole, reading, and scheming about the next adventure. While she enjoys every discipline of the sport, she finds big-wall and trad climbing most compelling. She continually draws inspiration from other fierce female senders like Babsi Zangerl, while providing ample inspiration to climbers everywhere herself.
