Have owned previous generations of this shirt which were fantastic. I loved the metal snaps, flap pocket and accent color on the neck. The new version seems really cheaply made with plastic buttons and a fabric that seems to be charged with static to the point that it’s unwearable. Even if I line dry it - it’ll be good for a minute and then very quickly become clingy and unwearable.

I'm a huge fan of the Skyline Shirts. Have been wearing them since 2017. Multi purpose. Great for any occasion and made with the best fabric.

This shirt just arrived at my door and I like it so far, however, the buttons are plastic, I hope they will last and withstand swift unbuttoning, the color is not a standard black is definitely more towards matte black like norvan 9” shorts, overall it meets my expectations, we will see about those buttons.

By far my favorite shirt and I own several. But please change back to the unique flap pocket. The zipper pocket makes the shirt look like so many other shirts on the market. The previous flap pocket made the shirt look more classy and modern.

I just don't get it. Arc'teryx is a company that prides itself on high-performance outdoor gear, and this once great shirt is now a lemon! The metal snaps were the bomb. They never opened accidentally, sounded solid, and looked cool. The plastic snap are absolute garbage. They open accidentally, they are not secure, and are of are made of cheap plastic. I have at least 8 of these new shirts. What gives Arc'teryx?

My husband bought 6 Skyline shirts for a trip. He has worn these shirts for quite a while, and we can't say enough good things about them (they look smart for work or social events, they are comfortable and lightweight and they breathe). The new ones arrived, and on all 6 shirts, the snaps don't line up, especially at the bottom, resulting in a puckered appearance, where the hem lies at an angle on both sides, instead of lying flat. I hope that Arcteryx fixes this problem quickly. We are left in the lurch with an upcoming vacation and no shirts.

I have 6 of the skyline shirts and love how they fit. The new style with the exposed zipper begins to sag a little and does not look as clean and sharp as the older style with the pocket flap. Please bring back the old style. So much nicer.

I bought this recently. It is like having a backpacking shirt that can wick moisture but still looks like a going out for dinner shirt. Silky smooth.

These shirts are comfortable, cool when hot and very warm with just an undershirt. Great colors and fit. Snaps are, for me a saving grace. I cannot do buttons but no problem with these. My only wish is there was a bit less of the polyester feel but small issue for a great shirt. Did not feel it after putting it on.

This is my first Skyline and I'm really enjoying the fit and finish of this shirt. The material is very comfortable and the fit is just right, maybe a bit on the looser side for Arc'teryx. It would be a great shirt for travel, with its comfort and zip pocket for your passport, and its comfortable, light-weight and quick-drying material makes it ideal for summer hikes. An interesting thing I also noticed is the fabric doesn't retain smells like some of the other polyester pieces I own. After a night on the town I hung it to air out and in the morning it smelled like new.

I have 20 twenty of the old style skyline shirts with only a couple new ones as back up remaining and have worn them on cruises for semi formal dining in the Mediterranean to hikes In Machu Picchu. Since Covid19 have worn them to work and get compliments on the nice style. Good thing I got so many of the old but in my opinion from trying on the new design at shops the pockets, the fabrics and the buttons have been either styled down, cheapened and cut altered and from reading other customer reviews Arc’teryx got lost on the trail on this one. I would gladly pay for a more costly version of the old style shirt with the same fabric, style, buttons and loose the cheesy zipper!

I own the previous version with the pocket flap and love it. Love it. Absolute favorite shirt, work or play. Then they redesigned it and everyone is up in arms about the zipper. Not a huge fan of the zipped pocket as it goes from 'white or blue collar job' or even 'clergy' to 'oil can worker' shirt in a hot second. But that in and of itself isn't a deal breaker. I can live with that. The deal breaker are the enormous new plastic buttons that have inexplicably replaced the low profile metal snaps. This change does two things: First, the panel down the front that covers these monstrosities doesn't lie flat at all. This is problematic because it makes the shirt have waves in it and immediately ages it from day one like the fabric has been stretched out due to wear. Second, the plastic snaps stick out like warts and you can feel them on your front. Nothing about this redesign works. The overall double whammy creates a look of cheaper fabric (it very well may be the exact same material but it doesn't lie flat and smooth as before). If you enjoy looking unkempt, this is the shirt for you! Not a good look for a shirt that is trying to be dressed up. Would love to send this version back for a store credit as it is just going to be banished to my closet until enough time has passed where I can stomach donating this expensive shirt to my preferred charity thrift store. Literally the only thing I like about this version compared to the other is that it is true to size.

I've owned a lot of these shirts over the years. A few of them I've used for multi-month thru-hikes. They're perfect for that. They are pretty thin, which is nice for warm/hot weather. The snap buttons make venting super easy and you don't have to worry about ripping a button out. They're durable and I've never had one rip or wear through under my backpack, though a mouse did eat a good part of one once. They just look good, they have an uncanny ability to not get dingy/stained even after hundreds of miles of use and infrequent washing. I've gotten many comments from people wondering how my shirt is so clean compared to theirs. I slightly prefer the old style pocket with the flap, it looks better. I do find it funny that people complained so much about the new zipper in the reviews, when the very original version of this shirt had a zipper! Also, the plastic snaps are actually an upgrade IMO. They are functionally identical to the metal ones and work great, no problems. The metal snaps on the old ones could get really hot if you're hiking on a hot day in the sun in desert environments, enough to irritate your chest. I do think the colors for this year are a little weak. Sky blue from a few years ago was a really great color, I should have bought more.

Great update on the shirt though understandable that people miss the original, I have 8 of them in various colors and the designer(s) should get an award Still love the updated version, have 3 now and will order3 more Maybe should make both and sell the original as retro, offer new colors yearly to keep things interesting Both are great all round versatile clothing and especially good for travel

I am 5’10” & 205 lbs. Not fat but not skinny. The Large fits nice & is very flattering. Usually wear a X Large but I have had other Arc’teryx shirts that are Large & I am very happy with the fit.

The Skyline shirt has a distinctive design. I like the hidden buttons and zip breast pocket and trim fit. I bought mine to wear in my hospital job. Its cool and drys very quickly. Take care when ironing, l would not iron directly onto the material just to be on the safe side.. I have spotted this shirt being worn on an American TV program about the paranormal by one of the team, (physicist) in the series!

I own 12 skyline shirts, old style. All colors. These have been my favorite shirts for at least 10 years. The cut, the fabric, the color stripe inside of the collar, the indestructible logo on the back panel, the pocket with a flap. They don’t wrinkle, they don’t smell. Wash, hang, wear and repeat. What an amazing product from a great brand. Last year the design and material started going south. I still bought two in grey and black because wanted to try and still had good hopes for the updated design. I was disappointed. The fabric is thinner, gathers static like crazy and the buttons are not as smooth. Also the color stripe in the collar was gone. What gives? This year’s model is just a disaster. The zipper on the pocket looks cheap. The cut and fabric are even worse than last year. Now I have to iron the shirt and it gets wrinkled so easily. No more stripe inside of the collar. Remember the plum color with the green collar stripe?❤️ Remember the graphite black with the orange stripe?❤️ What happened to you guys?

I thought it was just me, but apparently every loyal Skyline wear everyday customer has recognized the reduction in quality. Luckily like many others I have stocked up on on my favorite colors of the old design. New or old potential Skyline wearers don't waist your time. You'll be as disappointed as the rest of us.

At 47 I stepped away from my norms and this was the first product I purchased from the company. As an outdoor enthusiast and office Exec. I love clothing that I can use all around... very cost effective. I'm willing to pay more for the versatility in look and fabric tech. I found it here. I've used it for work, hiking and going out to dinner. The material and fit are great. I'm seeing that I missed out on a previous model, but I do have to say that I'm a fan of this one. You have earned another customer.

Supurb shirt that I use for the office, smart, comfortable fit and no need to iron.

My go-to hiking shirt. Silky, light, and very comfortable. Washes and dries easily on camping trips. Looks sharp but a bit too technical for the office.

I own a bunch of these in black (short sleeve and long sleeve). It seems like a lot of people are complaining about the new style, cut and zipper. Personally I find the new style an upgrade all around. It’s more contemporary. I wear a lot of Veilance and I feel this shirt has DNA from that line. My rating is a solid 5 stars. The only thing I would change if I was designing the next iteration would be to lose the front pocket entirely. For me I use pant or jacket pockets and never use a chest pocket on a shirt.

I own about 15 short-sleeve Skyline shirts in most of the available colors (plus a few long-sleeve). Nearly half were purchased recently as part of a last-ditch stock up of the old design. As many others have mentioned, the character of this shirt has significantly changed. The new design is much lighter and has a zipper pocket. This would probably be preferable in very hot environments where style is less important. I, however, mourn the loss of my beloved "wear it to work every day, go straight to the climbing gym, take it on a trip to Iceland, wear it almost constantly while filming the "Return to Tuvalu" documentary in the South Pacific, save paper towels by drying your hands on a shirt that air dries in 3 minutes, do anything" shirt. I truly hope you bring back the old design in a rainbow of color options, perhaps as part of your urban/city line.
