Love it and more comfortable than expected

When I felt how tough the fleece was I thought I'd find it uncomfortable but it's actually great. I've beat this thing up bad and it still looks brand new. Arc'teryx is definitely a struggling brand, not in sales but in customer retention. I have some duds, only in the past year, but they were really bad duds where it was just pathetic and Arc'teryx couldn't be bothered to repair their failing products. I'm not quite done with the brand as a whole, but I'm getting there. At least in this case I'm 100% satisfied and would recommend. In fact, I just ordered a covert hoodie i loved this so much. The gamma mx pants on the other hand? absolute trash, less than one star. Sigma pant? Tape on the crotch seam came off first day of use, Arc'teryx loves to tell you to put tenacious tape on things: pathetic. Calvus hat? Bizarre stitching that creates lumps everywhere, adjustment comes loose all the time. So they've definitely gone from my go to brand for clothes that can actually survive my lifestyle to hit or miss at best and possibly soon if i get any more duds they do nothing to address the issue i'll just miss the whole brand forever. We'll see. Anyway, that was a rant, this product (got mine late last year so pretty up to date, I'd say if you're ordering now you might still be safe quality wise) LOVE it, love it, love it.

Amazing mid-layer or standalone piece!

I've gotten a lot of use out of my covert cardigan, I got mine in the Atmos Heather colour from spring. It is a wonderful piece for cold nights in a casual setting, but is also clean enough to dress up a bit or wear to an office. I've gotten a lot of use on trips camping or at a cottage where it can get quite chilly at night. Very versatily piece but keep in mid it is quite heavy and warm, so worth trying on to see if it suits your body temp.

I hope arcteryx isn’t going the way of many high end brands that, once established, sacrifice quality for profit
This covert jacket is lined in the inside chest area but not in the sleeves or back. The result is when you put your arms thru the sleeves your shirt sleeves get pulled up to your elbows. At $180 you’d think they’d spend a few dollars and line everything.

Decent weight and fit, but pills very quickly

Have two of these - grey and navy. Both starts to pill within a few weeks of wearing. Suppose that's typical of this sort of fabric but would have been nice to see it hold up a bit longer before taking on that shaggy, shabby look (especially given the price point).

Early thoughts

This was recently purchased, so I don’t have a great deal of experience with it. My early experience with it is that it is comfortable, relatively warm, and, like most Arc’teryx products, is well built. Having a full length zipper makes it easy to take on and off. The side pockets and arm pocket are nice to have. One thing I would like to see is the lining went down the sleeves. If I am wearing short sleeves it is easy to pull on and off. However, if I am wearing a long sleeve shirt, pulling it on and off proves more challenging. Overall, I like the piece and have been wearing it often. Fits true to size.

I bought to replace an old fleece, and it has been a wonderful replacement. Properly cut, well placed pockets, warmth of the kind I was seeking. I anticipate wearing this fleece out years from now, after a long term of comfort and service.

I've been a satisfied Arc'teryx customer for many years and I'm a big fan of the usually outstanding quality of the products. Unfortunately I was completely disappointed when I bought a Covert Cardigan. After the jacket was only worn 4-5 times at home and washed once (according to the instructions), it shows pilling in many places, which is absolutely unacceptable for a product with the Arc'teryx quality standards. The material is unsuitable.

Over all is a nice Cardigan. But as with the previous models it missing a hanging hook/loop on the back collar, for the price it should definitely have one.

This is my go to sweater

I've owned the Covert sweaters for several years and I just purchased my 5th and am thinking of the 6th one as well. I own 5 different colors and I love them all. I gave up suits some years ago, and this sweated is my office attire, and my client like the classy but casual look. Arc'Teryx hit it out of the park with this sweater.

ich bin ein langjähriger zufriedener Arc'teryx Kunde und ein großer Fan der in der Regel überragenden Qualität der Produkte. Leider wurde ich nun beim Kauf eines Covert Cardigan komplett enttäuscht. Nachdem die Jacke nur 4-5 mal zuhause getragen und einmal (gemäß Anleitung) gewaschen wurde weist sie an vielen Stellen eine Knötchenbildung (pilling) auf, die für ein Produkt mit dem Arc'teryx Qualitätsanspruch absolut nicht akzeptabel ist. Das Material ist ungeeignet, und das Produkt gehört aus dem Programm genommen.

Good but not perfect

It fits well on me and seems to be well done (we will see after a few washing machine cycles). But it is not perfect, it misses a little piece of string or strap at the neck to hang it without damaging the cloth.

I have multiple pairs of this cardigan from different seasons, and they've all been great! They fit quite slim and true to size. The feel of the cotton is great, and ages great. The older models definitely pill more, but the newer models have pilled less.

Next April, I plan to walk El Camino de Santiago (along the Camino Frances Route). As the clothing I bring will be limited, I needed to choose a single fleece for warmth when needed and to dress up a bit during the evenings while walking around town. I chose Arc'teryx's Covert Cardigan over Pantagonia's Better Sweater (its main competitor) largely for the neater fit.
With respect to sizing, please note that I am 6'1", and 195 lbs. For my measurements, the XL was the correct size. The L size was too tight in the arms, and not practical if you want anything thicker underneath it other than a T shirt or a marino wool base layer. The sales representative at the Arc'teryx store also said that some customers said this item may shrink slightly, which further nudged me towards XL.
The Covert Cardigan would benefit from a chest pocket large enough to hold a phone. The small arm pocket is impractical, unless the only thing you want to carry is a ski lift ticket or a key. Also, although the cardigan is expensive for a mid-weight fleece, I took the plunge given its various features.

Your outdoors Cashmere Cardigan

London may have cashmere but around the mountains’ scene this cardigan is a must. Warm, durable and chic. It is the new embodiment of outdoors trendy. Pilling may be an issue after long term use which I deplore. However, it is a splendid layer on intense activities or lounging at the hut. Beautiful colours in my opinion and I can’t resist to buy every one of them. A classic.

I want to love it

I really wanted to love this cardigan. Looks great, and is very warm but the fit is just off, and the sleeves started pilling after just 2 wears. I’m not sure if it’s just mine and I got unlucky but right sleeve is shorter than the left sleeve by 2cm when perfectly lined up- was taken to a seamstress to confirm and it was indeed off, and the width of the armpit was also different which was making it extremely uncomfortable. I did not want to pay for the alteration as it would cost $50+ given the material. The sweater was new so I took it to a retail store and was advised that because of a “backlog” of claims, it would take 6-8 weeks to be examined and if it was approved then altered. Absolutely outrageous and I received the same comment when I sent in a jacket last winter to be altered due to “Covid slowing the process”. In the end extremely disappointed with the sweater as it’s too uncomfortable to wear and even more disappointed with the quality of Arc’teryx customer service lately. Would not recommend buying this at this point.

Perfect Layering Option

Purchased for my husband to pair with Atom vests and jackets as a warming layer. He wears it alone about half the time, despite being a little heavier than his other Arcteryx fleece. It’s a five-star jacket, but loses a star due to limited availability of larger sizes (3xl). Although the navy had sold out, I was able to find and purchase it with another retailer. It seems a consistently missed opportunity, both in additional sales and inclusion.

Great jacket but sizing doesn't make sense.

I bought this because I have the vest and love it. I also have a Kyanite vest and cardigan. I bought them all in large (except the Covert cardigan) because I don't like a tight fit. The vests fit on the looser side but I was ok with them. The Kyanite cardigan was way too large, especially the arm length. So when I ordered the Covert cardigan, I went with a medium thinking it would be snug but that the sleeve length would be about right. It wasn't. There is a HUGE size difference between the large Kyanite and the medium Covert. The sleeve length is about 4" difference.I also have Atom LT and Cerium LT jackets, both in large and they fit fine. You'd think there would be some consistency in the fit between the different product lines. The bottom line is that neither the Covert (M) nor the Kyanite (L) jackets fit me. Atrocious.

I'm usually a medium. But I found the covert cardigan more of a relaxed fit. The medium was way too big. The small fits but a tad snug in the waist (since I gained at least an inch). In between sizes so I past. Very nice cardigan though.
