Amazing jacket! I have nothing bad to say about it:)

I bought this as a winter shell for everything from resort snowboaring to touring to ice climbing. It isn't superlight if you're a gram counter but it has everything I need to do lead a small group. I love the chest pockets as it makes the radio access possible. The other chest pocket has maps and anything else that I need quickly. The side hand pockets are still accessible with a harness on so extra storage for those sour patch kids and trail mix. The regular it is perfect for layering - a base layer, thin fleece, cerium and then this jacket over the top. I am 173cm, 70kgs and this was just perfect. The fabric is durable. I've accidently scraped it with the ends of the ice screws a few times but no signs of tears or puncture yet. The zipper handles are great with some gloves on. Easy to access and manouvre the pit zippers. The is a drop hood - which is ideal for me. I tend to not like putting the hood up unless absolute necessary. The hood sits flat and low, and the collar keeps the cold out, along with a neck warmer. I feel well protected. This is going to be my winter shell for many more years to come.

I have owned this jacket for 3 years, it is my go-to any time it is nuking in the backcountry. seams are sealed tight, and adjustability is great. I love the radio pocket. I have a small head so the hood feels a little boxy, but it is very adjustable and cinches down just fine. The hood works great with a helmet.

Awesome jacket that I have had for over a year. It’s essentially a Beta shell jacket, but this thing has a lot of pro features, like a removable recco ( as not to interfere with cadaver search), radio pockets and neck loop, as well as more pockets than any other arcteryx jacket (inside and out). My main use case is search and rescue as well as skiing ( the Velcro patches are a nice touch so it doesn’t seem like I’m a patroller when I am off duty) — if you aren’t eligible to buy this due to lack of pro status, a beta shell jacket is 90% of what this jacket is One drawback, small was the smallest size they offered at the time, and the sleeves are way too long, and jacket is way too long

I bought a second ski guide jacket as my original is marked up from ice climbing (harness rub)over the past 4 year (climbed every week during winter). The Dynasty II colors is not red but orange. The hood color is golf ball fluorescent orange. Why couldn't they just keep it red? Won't be able to use it for ski patrol. The rest of the jacket is still great quality, with all the same features. Bought a size medium and still fits over a atom heavyweight. I'm 6'1 - 200 lbs. Probable would not fit over my down jackets easily. Overall great jacket, shame about the color.

Bought a couple of seasons ago and it is my go to backcountry touring jacket.

Ordered this in an XL and it fits on the larger side. I’ll be ordering a Large for my next one although the extra room is nice for layering. Used for one season so far (daily use) working as a snowboard instructor. The GORE-TEX Pro material holds up well and is still beading water. Having the extra pockets makes this incredibly functional and the radio pocket is convenient. I was skeptical with shelling out so much for an outer (heh heh) but it’s been on the top of my recommended gear list for my colleagues!

I’ve use this jacket three times since I’ve bought it and every time I put it on it has impressed me. The level of quality is exceptional, the fit and function is well designed and the color looks great. It big enough to layer properly. I plan on using this for skiing, mountaineering, and winter sports.

Used this jacket all last season, coming from a Beta LT, the Ski Guide jacket fits like an Alpha SV and is extremely durable. I am constantly in trees, rocky terrain and ice conditions, works perfect with an Atom LT underneath. With technically 7 pockets, it's perfect for patrolling, especially combined with the patrol vest. Every pocket is utilized when I am on duty. My only comment on the drop hood collar is that sweat builds up on the back collar which can leave sweat stain, otherwise it's very useful with great mobility on the windy chairlift days and winter storms. Overall very technical jacket that works perfect for ski patrol.I am 5'9" 170lbs, 31" waist, 40" chest. Plenty of room for layers, more of a relaxed/regular fit than the slim fitting Atom mid layers.

Lightweight but seems to be built well. Pull tabs to adjust hood and waist are awesome and easy to use with one hand even with a glove on. Pockets are well sized and positioned. Super happy with this jacket!

This coat is the gold standard for Ski Patrol, Sar Groups and Firefighters on the West Coast of Canada. I wear it for work and I bought this coat for personal use... because I love it and it will last for years.

I’ve only had this jacket a few weeks but so far I’m very happy with its fit and pocket configuration as well as its water and wind proof capabilities. I would say the only negative is it’s more orange than ski patrol red.

This jacket outperformed all the other major brands we had in out patrol department. Awful days seemed a little less terrible with this shell on. Comfortable fit, ease of movement, lightweight. All excellent. 10/10

I now own two of these jackets (more on that in a minute) and recommend them highly as an investment for winter outdoor professionals. Fit is right in line with "normal" Arc'teryx sizing. I'm 6 foot, 220 pounds with a linebacker build and own two of these: an XL for days when I want/need to layer up with significant insulation, and a large for spring or backcountry skiing where I want/need to wear less. Features are plentiful and well-thought-out. The multitude of chest zips/pockets (internal and external) work well. The lower external pockets are voluminous. The sleeve pocket is perfect for a ski pass. Fabric is bomber and stands up to a multitude of abuses and indignities. The only complaint I have with it is that it seems to pick up -- and show -- dirt and grime quickly. That said, it all comes out when I wash it a couple of times a season. I can see the complaint by another user about the color not matching with their patrol vest. I haven't had that problem, but since there's no one Pantone standard for "ski patrol red," I can certainly see where it will be a problem for some. If I could have a wish list of features, I'd love to see a setup for managing the hood similar to the one on the Trino hoody -- a stowable velcro tab that would allow you to roll the hood and keep it out of the way.

Was going to purchase this jacket for use on Ski Patrol. My daughter bought the "Dynasty" for use in Search and Rescue and it is not close to red. I put my patrol vest (a true red) up against it, and it looked bad. And then the orange patch on the hood makes it even worse. I had such high hopes, and was looking forward to purchasing one because the jacket has been really good at keeping my daughter dry on her SAR missions. I can't wear a jacket that looks orange (and is made even more orange in appearance by the hood) on Ski Patrol. Sadly, I will have to stick with the competitor's jacket and continue to spray it with water repellent ahead of each patrol shift. :(

I bought this shortly after the release of the jacket and have had some very good experiences with it since then. The balance of weight to functionality is fantastic when you view it against comparable jackets. With that, all said I think a few things are needed to make this jacket perfect for those in rescuer/responder roles. 1. The velcro tab, where it stitches into the wrist has a tendency to rub against my hand. This may sound harmless and when I'm wearing gloves under the cuff, quite really is, however when worn with bare hands it can cause excessing rubbing and skin irritation. Also if you're in a medical role and find yourself wearing nitrile or similar exam gloves frequently, the abrasive edge on this tab has ripped my gloves on multiple occasions. This to me was a minor oversight or maybe just a fluke on my jacket, but one that was solved with a pair of scissors and a small piece of tenacious tape over the sharp edges. 2. I find the hem on the jacket to be quite tight when worn with any layers... in fairness, I'm not fully convinced this is a design issue, and quite honestly, I may have put on a few extra pounds over these covid days, hahaha. All in all, I find the weight, features, and performance to be fantastic. It is a great jacket and I'm fairly happy with the purchase. Fit - i'm 6'3" and 180 lbs. and the large was perfect. Pros: - Fit - Pocket lay out - Zippers - Hood and waist adjustment Cons: - This jacket is downright noisy - Not a huge fan of the hood ... wanted the extras on this jacket but wish it came with the option of the alpine hood.
