Question 1

The product page states: “ Advanced Composite Construction Laminated, Taped seams” Does this bag have taped seams? And if not, how much weather exposure should I expect before water leakage? As it’s a touring bag I expect it to get wet, thanks!

Amelie, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi Andrew, thank you for your question. The Micon 37 Backpack features taped seams. The pack is also constructed with weather-resistant 210D Cordura nylon, which helps protect your gear from light precipitation and snowy conditions. That said, the pack is water-resistant rather than waterproof. While the taped seams help reduce water ingress, the backpack is not designed to remain fully waterproof during prolonged exposure to heavy rain, immersion, or consistently wet conditions. We hope it helps!

Question 2

Can you show pictures of the “tool garage “ where you would keep your shovel ,probe and saw? Thanks

River, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hello Alex, thanks for reaching out. At the moment, our team is actively working on adding interior photos of the Micon 37 to the product page. These should be available soon, so we encourage you to check back shortly for updated visuals. If you’d like to see the pack in person, you’re always welcome to visit one of our stores, the staff can walk you through the internal layout and show exactly how the avy‑tools compartment is organized.

Question 3

How do you attach the ice axe? The small parts at the bottom keep coming loose. And how should I secure it at the top ,with the long strap?

Luna · Accepted Answer

Hi Alex, thank you for your question and for checking out the Micon 37 Backpack! To attach your ice axe, place the head of the axe through the lower axe loop, or, if your axe has a carabiner hole, you can thread it through that for an even more secure fit. Once the bottom is anchored, use one of the side compression straps to secure the pick. After that, bring the upper strap around the shaft and tighten it so everything sits snug and stable while you're moving. We hope this helps!

Question 4

How do you move the chest strap clips down or up along the daisy chain shoulder strap loops. It’s clipped on there very tight and I don’t want to break it when moving those clips. Any tips?

KryshelleJ · Accepted Answer

Hey Caleb!

If you look closely you’ll see one side of the “clip” has a smaller plastic retaining clip. Fold the clip towards the side with less material and with some force it should pop out! Do the same in reverse to re attach.

Question 5

How does the Backpack look from inside?

Seymour, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi Leon, thanks for reaching out. We understand how seeing the inside of a pack would make for a better shopping experience and help with your purchase decision. While we don’t currently have interior images available online, feedback like yours is important and is regularly shared with our team for future improvements. If possible, we recommend visiting one of our brand stores or an authorized Arc’teryx retailer, where you can see the pack in person and get a better sense of the internal layout and organization. We hope this helps!

Question 6

Is it waterproof, lightweight?

Seymour, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi Emily, thanks for reaching out. The Micon 37 Backpack is made with a weather-resistant 210d Cordura nylon. That said, it is not waterproof. It is designed to be lightweight and weighs 1.09 kg. We hope this helps!

Question 7

River · Accepted Answer

Question 9

Would it be possible to have some help figuring out how to attach the helmet cover? There are no instructions or videos.

Sophie · Accepted Answer

Hi, thanks for your feedback! We're happy to help. To attach the removable Coarc™ Helmet Carry Pack Accessory to your Micon 37 Backpack, locate the four reinforced loops on the front panel. Position your helmet against the pack, stretch the Coarc™ mesh over it, and clip each corner toggle into the loops. Adjust the tension so the helmet sits securely. The intuitive four-point system is glove-friendly and makes transitions quick and easy. We appreciate your note about how helpful instructions and video tutorials would be. We'll be sure to pass this along to our team. It would be great to include guidance like this on our website. Please let us know if there's anything else we can support you with! https://arcteryx.com/ca/en/help/contact

Question 10

What's different on the Micon 37 compared to the old Micon 42? They look very similar aside from the 5L reduction in volume and slight increase in weight. Is the 42L coming back?

River · Accepted Answer

Hello there, you're absolutely right, the key differences between the Micon 37 and the previous Micon 42 are the reduced volume and a slight increase in weight. Both packs share the same technical design, materials, and features built for ski touring and mountain travel, but the 37L offers a more compact profile for streamlined movement. For Winter 2025, only the Micon 37 will be available; there are no plans to reintroduce the 42L version this season.
