Question 1

Hello - would this work as a gym rope bag? Ideally I'd want something to carry all my items (45M rope, 2 shoes + 2 harnesses), and be able to use it to store my rope when moving around the gym. Is the bottom stiff enough that it would stay upright?

River, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hello there, thanks for reaching out about the Carrier 45 Gear Tote. This tote can definitely work as a gym rope bag for many climbers, it has the volume to hold a 45 m rope along with shoes and harnesses, and the open‑top design makes it easy to drop your rope in between climbs. The bottom panel does have structure, but it’s not a rigid frame, so it will stand upright when lightly loaded but may collapse a bit as you add heavier items. The wide handles and durable build make it practical for hauling gear around the gym, and many guests use it exactly for that purpose. If you’re looking for something that doubles as both a carry‑all and a simple rope bucket, the Carrier 45 could be a good fit.

Question 2

Is there any way to make it waterproof again?

Helio, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi Henri, thank you for your question! The Carrier 45 Gear Tote is made with a durable 690D nylon fabric that features a waterproof TPU laminate, a polyurethane coating, and fully seam-sealed construction to help protect gear from moisture. Over time, dirt, wear, and use can reduce the fabric's ability to shed moisture, causing the surface to "wet out" rather than bead moisture. If you're noticing reduced water repellency, we recommend cleaning the tote according to the care instructions (please surface clean only) and then applying a Durable Water Repellent (DWR) spray treatment to help re-protect your bag if the water no longer beads off the fabric. Please feel free to check out our footwear & packs wash instructions page for more information: https://arcteryx.com/ca/en/rebird/wash/footwear-packs-home-wash-guide. We hope this helps!
