Rush Jacket - One Way Zipper Women's

Performance, comfort and style wrapped up in a perfect shell of a ski jacket! I sized up (I usually wear a med) to a large for a more oversize look and feel. I am able to layer a puff underneath on colder days and still have freedom of movement. I use the bottom synch to customize my fit. A great hood that is compatible with a helmet or adjustable for a hat on storm days. Vertical chest pockets for easy access to my radio or snacks. I paired this with the Rush Bib Pant making my dream ski kit complete.

Love this jacket for a top layer. It's got enough pockets for a day hike. The only thing is it's a bit on the long side and as a shorter person, it comes down over my pant pockets which makes it harder to get them.

So, this is a beautiful jacket. The labyrinth colour is a rich, vibrant teal, I love the chest pockets, it's got some nice features, the length is awesome, it's comfortable to wear, lightweight, and it overall just looks really good. I found myself in between sizes. My regular size, Small, fit perfectly on my torso, but was a little bit tight around my hips. It wasn't restricting, just not quite the look or fit I wanted. The size Medium was way too big on my torso but fit on my hips. So even though the length is great, it comes with the caveat of possibly not fitting you properly around the hips. I'd say it's overall true to size but the length may cause problems depending on your body type, so I recommend trying this one on in store because of this. The main problem I have with this jacket is the fact that they've made the women's version of this jacket inferior to the men's. WHY? What makes you think women don't want or deserve the same features and quality as men? The men's version has a laminated brim on the hood, watertight zippers, internal mesh dump pocket, powder skirt, slide n lock snap closures, relaxed cuffs with laminated velcro, and Gore-tex Pro. The women's version has NONE of these features. That's just ridiculous. Arcteryx, you can do so much better. Don't use the same name for two jackets that are not the same.

I bought this jacket with the Rush bib pants as well (which are incredible). The colour is beautiful and the pockets are extremely convenient. I wanted a longer jacket for resort days, but read a few reviews that say the length in the torso is annoying for touring (when climbing). I've worn this touring twice so far since purchasing, and didn't have any trouble with the longer cut. I can see it being restrictive if you bought a more fitted size. A note on sizing - I have broad shoulders, so I needed to size up to a large to not feel restricted in my upper body, but find I'm absolutely swimming in the arms and torso. I don't mind too much, but I'm kind of rocking a paper bag princess look. Definitely try this on in person, it's a bit finnicky.

Some disclosures for this review: I did not pay full price, I got this jacket (as well as the matching pants) as a warranty replacement for my old sentinel jacket. I would NOT have paid full price. I ski mostly in the PNW (lots of rain and lots of snow) and have put a lot of hours on this jacket this year freeride skiing, touring, hiking, you name it. THE GOOD: - Looks incredible, the labyrinth colour is more rich and vibrant in person - The fit (size M top, size 8 in the bib pants) - I am 135lbs, 5’8” with a slight upper body and more muscular lower body. I love the longer length and find it works excellent with packs and keeping me dry - Nice mobility in the chest and arms - I love the style of the longer length and it adds to the great looking quality of the jacket. - Pocket placement - I LOVE the chest pockets and it was a huge reason I went with this jacket. - HOWEVER, I do not find that the zippers here are that great and I do find a good deal of water leakage comes into the pockets on the wet days - Pit vents - Great for the uphill! That's about where my positives end. The Bad: - Die cut velcro cuffs - While they state that they won’t snag or tear off, mine, I kid you not, tore at the seam on the first day (I suspect they will be awesome about fixing this, but still, an 800$ jacket should NOT do that on day 1) - Why can't the ladies rush have the same robust cuffs that the mens jackets have??? - No powder skirt - This has impacted me slightly less because I ski with a pack that has a waist strap to keep the majority of the snow out, but unless you are wearing bibs AND a pack with a waist strap, you WILL get snow down your pants. Taking this feature out is not worth the tiny reduction in garment weight. - No Gortex pro - More on this in a sec - The front zipper is not a watertight zipper (why? I have absolutely no idea) but this ABSOLUTELY degrades the effectiveness of this jacket. - The two way zip is annoying. I guess it was done to elevate any issues from the longer length but I find It annoying and makes zipping the jacket incredibly annoying and tedious. 0/10 So here’s the crux of this review: for a company that capitalizes on marketing off the backs of “womens equality”, female skiers and feminism, it makes little sense to me why they make their top of the line, FEMALE ski shells at a lesser standard than their mens jacket counterparts. The mens rush jacket is made with Gortex pro, while the women rush jacket is not (80D 3L GORE-TEX fabric with GORE C-KNIT). The mens rush jacket has a powder skirt, the women jacket does not. The mens rush jacket has WaterTight™ Vislon front zip while the woman’s jacket does not. while this is not a review of the Sentinel jacket, I think its important to note that it is ALSO Made with a lower standard (less robust N70p 3L GORE-TEX) than BOTH the top of the line mens shell jackets (Rush Jacket (Gortex pro)and Sabre Jacket (N80p-X 3L)). If I hadn’t received this as a warranty replacement I would not have purchased this jacket. It looks great and functions decently but I genuinely do not understand why they decided to strip down numerous functional (dare I say necessary) design features. At best this choice is just plain stupid and at worst, perhaps sexist? I will personally not be purchasing any ski gear from arctyrx until I see them make some serious changes in their line up of ski gear for women.

I bought jacket but retuned it because sizing was so large. I'm 5'8" and 170 lb and women's large was enormous on the shoulders with too much space in chest.

The coat is longer but will be good for in the snow. There is a bit of rubbing when you sway your arms from armpit zips. Also the upper chest pockets are a bit small and barley fit new phones. Fits big but it enough for warm winter layers.

I like the concept of this jacket, but it has no shape and looks like a pillowcase with arms when you put it on. Additionally, the front runs quite low, which interferes on the uphill; that said, you can partially unzip the bottom to help with this. I ended up returning the jacket and going with a different one.

I was surprised by the other reviews. It’s an awesome jacket. Fit is good for movement when snowboarding, longer length good for Vancouver rain. Just bought it and already getting compliments. Labyrinth colour is on point.

I wanted to love this jacket, I really did. Mostly because I found this seasons colours to be really lame and the teal was lovely. BUT, it’s a weird length. It hits below the waist, so if you’re walking up any incline you feel really restricted- and it makes it difficult to zip. It also runs large. Ended up returning and going back to my ol’ faithful, the Beta AR- in lame-o black. Oh well

I just bought this jacket, and I was so excited because the color is amasing, and the pockets are perfect for backcountry touring. BUT, the assembly is terrible, sewn by a disfunctionning machine or a beguinner. It looks terribly cheap. I would never wear that.
