Awesome Jacket

I bought this jacket at the start of summer and mainly use it for climbing, running, hiking and cycling. It packs up really small into it's own pocket (roughly the size of 2 tennis balls) with a loop to attach to a harness. This makes it the perfect jacket for multi pitch climbing when there a light breeze to keep warm on belay. It's very thin and extremely breathable making it perfect for high output activities to cut the wind out.

Perfect for multi pitch climbing

I bought this for climbing and it’s perfect for just that. Super light, small, and firm fitting so it doesn’t get in the way. It’s long enough for the harness to fit overtop and cuts down the wind just right for belays but not too hot for the climb. A few times i thought the rock would rip it but its held up strong

Breathable, packable, versitile light jacket

I bought this as a packable light jacket to take on hikes, and ended up using it as my always-carry go-to. The jacket is super breathable (I've worn it over a t-shirt in 50-80 degree weather while staying comfortable, or as a softshell over a fleece for even colder temperatures) and incredibly lightweight. Only "downside": it does alright in light rain, but it definitely won't save you from getting soaked in a downpour.

Good but lost some of its breathability

I had a 2009 Arc’teryx Squamish hoody that needed replaced and so I got the latest version. Pros - Compared to older versions it’s a much better cut so less excess fabric flapping about - Packs in to its own pocket in to a better shape. A more packable shape so takes up less room in pack - New design looks better with colour schemes and more tailored fit Cons - Definitely less breathable and less comfort next to skin compared to older fabrics - Older material definitely performs a lot better, the new one has lost some of its performance.

The best light summer shell

This is perfect. Fits a bit tight in my chest, but I mainly wear it unzipped. It's ideal for summer days where you don't want to overheat by wearing a jacket, but also might be indoors somewhere with the AC kicking too hard.

Great fit

This is a wonderful windshirt. Its fabric is more substantial than a Houdini, and it’s more breathable in comparison, while shedding light rain well. It’s got a nice balance of protection and breathability, while being light and packable. The hood has a nice brim, and is not too large. The best part is the fit — I’m 6’2” 85kg, large fits amazingly well over a base layer, or even a Proton LT. The length of the arms and hem are perfect. The hem is a little longer than some, similar to my Beta LT in length. Highly recommended for 3 season hiking, or over an insulation piece in winter.

My most used piece

This is my all time most used piece. Every season, every activity, it's the layer I find myself reaching for. Whether stuffed in a running belt, layered over a thin t shirt in the summer or a base layer in the winter, or protecting me at a windy belay, it's simply perfect. The revised version is my second Squamish, and is cut a bit longer in hem length and sleeves than the previous edition. This is nice for ski touring as it keeps the jacket tucked below a pack waist belt. Keep in mind that for shorter folks (I am 5'7"), this runs a bit longer than might be perfect as a pure running shell - for that, I'd look toward the Incendo or Norvan line. But as a daily driver ready for any adventure, the Squamish is the perfect piece. In my experience, it replaces thin soft shells, thick hard-shells, and outer layers equally depending on conditions.
