Hallo und danke für dein Interesse am Atom SL Hoody! Bei der Entwicklung dieser Jacke standen das kleine Packmaß, Leichtigkeit und der vielseitige Einsatz im Fokus.  Der Atom SL Hoody kann als Außenschicht beim Laufen an kalten Tagen genutzt werden. Wir haben dieses Modell aber nicht speziell auf diese Aktivität ausgerichtet. Falls du nach einer laufspezifischen, isolierten Jacke für den Herbst und Winter suchst, empfehlen wir dir den isolierten Norvan Hoody. Er wurde speziell für das Trailrunning in kalten Bedingungen entwickelt. Die Jacke hat eine eng anliegende Kapuze, die extra schützt und eine sportspezifische Passform, die dir beim Laufen genau die richtige Bewegungsfreiheit bietet. Wir hoffen, das hilft dir weiter.

Hi purchased your Atom lightweight hoody womens last year. I’ll be visiting Iceland this July Do you think it will be sufficient as a stand alone piece with layers for Icelands unpredictable weather?

Hello Marie, the Atom Lightweight Hoody is a great midlayer; light, packable, and warm for its weight. For Iceland in July, it could work well as part of a layering system. Weather there can be cool, windy, and wet even in summer, so we’d recommend pairing it with a moisture-wicking base layer and bringing a waterproof shell to stay dry and protected from the wind. While the Atom offers some weather resistance, it’s not fully waterproof, so having a shell on hand will help you stay comfortable in Iceland’s unpredictable conditions. Enjoy your trip!

Bonjour Lydia, la coupe de la veste Atom SL reste similaire à celle de l’ancien modèle Atom, avec une coupe ajustée conçue pour être portée seule ou comme couche intermédiaire. Si la taille que vous avez commandée cet hiver vous allait bien, il n’est généralement pas nécessaire de prendre une taille au-dessus. Toutefois, si vous êtes entre deux tailles ou si vous préférez une coupe un peu plus ample, la taille supérieure pourrait être à considérer. Voici les mesures des deux modèles en taille Small, afin que vous puissiez les comparer :

Veste Atom SL:
Largeur poitrine : 98,5 cm
Largeur taille : 88,0 cm
Longueur au dos : 64,0 cm

Veste Atom:
Largeur poitrine : 103,3 cm
Largeur taille : 106,6 cm

While it may offer some basic coverage due to the fabric density, we can’t guarantee a specific level of SPF or UV protection. If sun protection is a key priority for you, we’d be happy to recommend other pieces in our line that are UPF rated.

Hi there — great question! The new Atom SL Hoody is the updated version of what was previously called the Atom Lightweight Hoody. It features several key improvements, including recycled Fortius™ Air 20 fabric, stretch synthetic insulation, and an FC0 DWR finish for a lower environmental impact. The addition of Octa® Fleece side panels enhances breathability and reduces micro-shedding, while the StormHood™ is now lined and no longer stowable. The Bird logo is also now embroidered for added durability. Sizing has been slightly adjusted — for example, in size Small, the Atom LT Hoody measured 100.5 cm in the chest, 89 cm at the waist, and 103.5 cm at the hem. In comparison, the updated Atom SL Hoody in size Small measures 98.5 cm in the chest, 88 cm at the waist, and 100.5 cm at the hem. We hope this helps!
