keep making changes

I second the other review. All of a sudden you keep making changes. You were offering a great, functional product that had great reviews. Then you went ahead and changed names for the lightweight and heavyweight, then you messed up the hood, making it hard to use. Then everything disappeared from the website and now I can’t understand which one of the jackets you’re offering and the colors look cheap. We want quality and functional features, otherwise there’s plenty of other brands that offer crappy jackets with issues and ugly colors. You were offering realizability, now Id rather shop elsewhere because clearly there’s disorganization and lack of understanding for your customers.

We have updated it with a new FC0 material and added recycled fabrics to the side panels and lining. Plus, we have refined the fit with a wider collar and roomier sleeve openings, giving you more freedom to move and layer comfortably. Fragile fabric, poor customer service.

Sure, it's a pretty versatile jacket, but it's not as good as it used to be. For context, I'm on my second Atom jacket; I LOVED the first one I got, it was bombproof and fabulous. But I outgrew it and got a new one in a bigger size. The fabric on my new one is puckering in many spots (across the whole hood, on the stomach, shoulders and lower back). I spoke to customer service at the store and they are washing their hands of it, claiming it's wear and tear, but in my opinion it's just poor quality fabric. Needless to say, I wouldn't recommend the Atom to a friend, unless they can find a vintage one, and I am sad to say I'm now on the hunt for an alternative in another brand.

Not the Same at the Atom LT

I have two of the older Atom LT jackets that I absolutely love and still wear, but they have been put through the wringer, so it was time for a replacement. I got the Atom, thinking it would be like my older Atom LT jackets, but unfortunately, this version is a downgrade. It's thinner, has less filling, and is not as poofy as my older Atom jackets, so it's not as warm, and the outer material feels slightly stiffer. Don't know what happened to Arc'teryx, but the quality has gone downhill. Please stop cutting corners and go back to the quality that Arc'tryx was years ago. It's not the same anymore.

Great! But an inch too long!

I've just bought another Atom this winter and I must say the fit has changed considerably from previous years. It's roomier (which is great) and the hood got somewhat of an upgrade. However, it's a tad long and I have quite a long torso. I have an Atom LT from 2020 and it's a bit too short. I'd say at least two inches shorter that this one. A sweet spot would have been in between! The 2024/2025 model sits a bit under my hips which doesn't work that well when exercising so I have to pull it up a little bit and it's less flattering. Arc'teryx, just take off an inch please :)

Sizing awkward for those with muscular shoulders

(Haven't worn it yet) Love the color however I wish Arcteryx, as an athletic wear company, would consider the fact that a lot of women wearing their clothing are athletic and therefore built differently. A lot of us have athletic and muscular upper (and lower) bodies so sizing is awkward for us with jackets because muscular arms and shoulders make the arm pits and sometimes back a little snug, but sizing up makes the entire jacket way too large. I'm 5'7 and 137lbs with an hourglass shape. I got a Medium which looks good but could be roomier in the armpit area but I'm absolutely swimming in a size large.

It's different from what it used to be.

My husband had an Atom hoodie that he bought years ago, and I really liked the material because it's thick and warm. I decided to get one for myself, but I noticed that the thickness isn't quite what it used to be. It might be worth re-evaluating the fabric to maintain the quality that made these hoodies so appealing in the first place.

Best hoodie/jacket ever

I love this jacket so much, it's the third I've bought since I wear it all the time. Excellent either on its own or as a mid layer. Super soft and light, it stuffs up very small so you can easily pack it anywhere. I like the extra hidden pocket. The stratus colour is gorgeous.

Comfortable and Versatile

I use this jacket for just about every adventure into the mountains. Whether it be rock climbing, skiing, mountaineering, mountain running, or simply hiking, this jacket is either on my body or in the top of my pack. I like that it is not down fill since I have a few areas where the outer layer is cut from use and I am happy that down is not pouring out of it. I like the main front zipper because it does not get caught in the fabric of the jacket, especially when I have winter gloves on. I appreciate the cuffs on this jacket because they do a good job of keeping cold air out. One down side is that this jacket is not as packable as a down jacket of similar size. I also wish there was one more interior pocket for smaller objects like iPhone, keys, lip balm, etc. Finally the back of the hood draw string is a little hard to find when I have gloves on but I appreciate its function.

My go-to jacket!

I've had my Atom Hoody for 6 years and I find myself reaching for it more than any other jacket. Whether as a layer for spring skiing, a day in the boulders or while traveling, it's served me well throughout the years.

Inferior material

Save you money--don't buy this hoody. Within the first 6 months the zipper snagged on the material and when I pulled it--it was damaged. The material is paper thin--and even brushing against branches rips it. Very poor design and comparable to real quality technical clothing. I wear an ortovox hoody I paid way less for that I bought at the same time way more and it is way better. This has been sitting in a fix it bin for a long time. Lousy. Customer service person said it is wear and tear and it is not a stand alone.

I love the Atom hoody so much. It’s an incredible mid layer, or just regular jacket in milder weather. It has great feeling fabric, it’s stylish, and good for all types of outdoor sports. I pretty much wear it everyday. It’s not a waterproof layer, but fits well underneath a shell. I size up in order to layer comfortably.

Perfect for layering uear round

I carry this jacket with me year round. It is great in the summer on cooler windy days or under a rain jacket on a rainy day. In the winter it makes a great mid-layer. It is light, packs down small.

Comfortable but long

I love the weight and insulating qualities of this jacket, but wish it was a bit shorter to fit my 5’ 4 “ height, 120 lbs, & full chested torso. So either make a petite size to fit us more compact gals, or include a cinch cord in the bottom of jacket to shorten it up a bit for us shorter folks. A medium size fits my shoulders and chest, though a bit more narrow than I like. This has stopped me from purchasing more of this jacket, though I wish I could.

This is my 4th Atom Hoody jacket purchase. I will continue to buy these jackets for as long as they are made. Lightweight, warm, the great layering piece. All in all, perfection.

The ONE layer you need for it all

I love my atom! This has become my go-to perfect layer for all things! THis jkacket feels magically insulating. I have worn it on it's own in negative temps and still kept me warm, it's also breathable enough to vent your heat when moving or working hard. I love it so much I bought a second with no hood for better layering under my ski shell. you will not be disappointed owing one of these!

Comfortable, light

Use it all the time, on its own during spring and fall. Perfect as under layer during snowboard season.

Love this hoody!

My favourite Arc’teryx product. As a stand alone piece or for layering, this hoody is great. Warm and comfortable! I have a few in different colours and wear them all of them! They pack well, and great for travelling.
