This hoody has excellent fabric and utility, but the sizing is off. I returned a large for a medium. The medium fits fairly well due to its stretchiness but would have been perfect with an additional inch or two of room in the chest. The downside to this is that the snugness causes the hoody to cling to the under shirt. For comparison I have a 43 in chest and 33 in waist and the large in the older version fits me perfectly. The large in this version fits like an extra large.

I've been testing various iterations of the Delta for 5 years, and am thrilled to say this is the best yet. The lightweight, wicking fleece, combined with the right fit and taper, makes this a great spring and fall low-output piece for the mountains, a travel friendly hoody, and a mid-output winter piece when layered appropriately. I've used this piece on a cold, windy spring day, moving uphill in the alpine, as well as ice and rock climbing from 0-50 degrees F. When layered well, the Delta can be the piece you never remove and always bring with you, provided you aren't sprinting around or running uphill a lot. For a higher output outing, I would lean towards something a bit thinner/more packable, like the Cormac Heavyweight, but this fleece nails the bill for most people at most temps and outputs. Plus, the hood is perfectly sized for under a helmet!

I’ve owned various fleeces over the decades but never a true micro fleece. The Delta is advertised as lightweight and technical with a high warmth to weight ratio. Sounded like a micro fleece to me so took the plunge and bought the Forage colour which is a cross between ranger green and khaki. It’s not cheap at £200 so was it worth it. (Just to note ordering and delivery to the UK was fast from Germany. I ordered the XL being a 44” (112cm) chest but this was far too big so sent it back. This process is quick, free and easy. I ordered the L and received the refund for the XL as soon as it was received by Arc’teryx.) The first thing that strikes you is that it is very thin and weighs virtually nothing. I was a bit sceptical but having worn it a lot for everyday use and a couple of hikes I can attest that this lightweight thing is superb. The L is just the right size for me. Enough room for a base layer (I’ve used a cormac tee and rab sonic tee separately with the Delta) or even next to the skin. The hollow core fibre (or fluffy pattern inside) is very comfortable on skin. For its weight and thinness it is really warm and wicks sweat well. The main zip works well and doesn’t snag. The two zipped hand pockets are useful for storage and also for temperature regulation as the pocket lining is mesh. The breast pocket is small but ok for an id card - pass etc. The zip on this is small and is a bit stiff but at least your cash or ID won’t fall out. The hood is warm and fits with room for a cap. The smooth face material doesn’t snag or catch and goes on easily under other layers. I used a Rab capacitor hoody as the next layer which is quite a ‘clingy’ fleece but it went on over the Delta with no problems. To summarise the Delta Hoody it is expensive but it is very good. It’s well made, a lot tougher and warmer than it looks plus gives you more possibilities when using the layering system. I used this on a hike with a base layer and the thicker Rab which provided good warmth, wicking and ventilation. Sizes run a little large.

Nice lightweight jacket that works well for work, climbing, and hiking. I utilize the hood underneath a helmet almost daily between biking and climbing; it’s great with no pressure points.

I now own a this Delta Hoody, a Proton LT, an Atom LT, and the Alpha LT. Each of these comes into play on a cold ski day. The delta makes for the perfect second layer, as my heart rate increases on the skin track I can put layer after layer in my pack until the Delta which is easy to keep on, as it sheds heat so well. But when worn under another layer, it adds an outsized amount of insulation. Couldn't be happier with this thin fleece as a piece of the ski puzzle, and frankly as the first thing I put on in the morning at my house, as well. I will wear this thing out!

I am a big fan of the brand. This jacket is too light and lacks functionality, not my favorite purchase and it will see very limited use.

Light, warm, very comfortable to wear. Wears close to the body but not tight. I absolutely love it. Zippers work smooth. Feels pleasant against skin, I wore it over a t-shirt. I like the color, understated and goes well with jeans, khaki, (which is practically all I wear).

The hoodie is very light and breathable mainly suitable for mild weather but in cool temperatures it is too breathable and not warm enough. The material is very high quality. Unfortunately the zippers are not perfect, the large zipper on the main zipper is very difficult to insert with a bit of fiddling. Overall, great, but above all, very stylish, the blue is very, very subtle, starting with the white, but it is absolutely unique as a color.

I recently got one of the newer delta Jackets. Overall the material is great but I'm not a fan of the change to the sleeves. I had the delta hybrid, prior delta jacket and the sleeves were great, they had just the right amount of material and coverage with the thumb loops. the newer version has about 2-3 cm too long sleeves and does not have a tapered fit so there is a lot of excess and baggy material around the wrist which is pretty irritating. Hopefully they readjust the sleeves as the delta hybrid sleeves fit perfect!

I bought this in addition to the Kyanite Hoody because I wanted a lighter material, for short hikes (~4-6miles) and boy, it DELIVERS: very lightweight; form-fitting; breathable; zippered pockets; zips up to my chin; dries in minutes when wet. This is the absolute best hoody to wear on short hikes where a light and breathable hoody is needed.

Fits close to the body, more insulation than you would think for how thin it is. great for layering with easy movement

I bought this a month ago and the product and colour are really good, however Arcteryx have messed around with their sizing and nothing fits as well as it previously did small being smaller and large being larger) leading to multiple returns and frustration. I've been a fan and regular purchaser of Artcteryx products for over 20 years, with this new sizing its leading to review my loyalty to the brand.

Great flattering fit with this new cut/design + a great soft feel. Super light too. My old Delta LT fleeces feel very dated now. I think it may be slightly larger than the size bought (I'm comparing to my old Delta fleeces) - but I am wearing the thinnest base layer underneath. The hood is also what I've always wanted on a Delta fleece so this new updated design is perfect - it kind of serves as a nice neck surround under my Alpha SV jacket etc. and it just looks better all round.

Belle veste fine très bien finie agréable au toucher. Je cherchais une veste avec capuche pour mes activités en montagne, mais la coupe ajustée de cette veste ne me va pas et le haut de la veste au niveau des bras côté poitrine est trop ample pour moi.

Got this jacket recently and I've been really impressed with how it has performed. For starters, the jacket is really lightweight but also provides a surprising amount of warmth and comfort. The warmth to weight ratio is impressive. It stretches and moves with my body while climbing and doesn't pull up much under a harness. The jacket seems to breathe well too as I haven't found myself getting too hot during higher output activities. I've enjoyed the hood too as it can fit under a helmet comfortably and over top of a helmet too with the stretch. This feels like a better version of some of the popular grid fleeces made by other competitors in the industry. As a climber, I also really appreciate the ability to pull my sleeves up when jamming or needing some more freedom around your wrist and the wrist cuffs are stretchy and easy to pull up. I would've expected there to be thumb loops on a piece like this but I think it is OK without them. Maybe an addition for a future season. Overall, I have really enjoyed this jacket and look forward to wearing it on more climbing days this spring. I'm 5'8", 145lbs and wear a small. Fits comfortably without being too snug.

Overall I like this fleece, though the new fit and lack of a couple features keeps me from rating it 5 stars. Pros: It's lightweight, warm, breathable and has 3 pockets (one chest, two hand). It definitely has less "loft" than something like a proton lightweight but seems more effective than the older grid fleece styles. Cons: The fit is a bit baggier than prior delta pieces, especially in the mid section and the elastic waistline is less effective unless I size down. No thumb loops / holes. I am 5'11", 180 lbs, 32 inch waist and 41 in chest, athletic build. Large is my normal go to size for arcteryx products, and I ordered a large in this fleece and it fits OKAY but wish they kept the older sizing which fit me like a glove.

Amazingly warm for the thickness and weight. Super comfortable, and the best hood I have for active activities it is close to the head and moves perfectly with my head so when turning my head there is zero blocked vision. Size is great also, only feature I think can be improved on is the chest pocket which is very very small, and more a fashion statement over utility, and the main zipper seems very small but will see how it stands up to time.
