Nice Jacket - But DEFECTIVE Main Zip

Love the jacket and color - but 2 days wearing it has resulted in a very poor main zip. I have sent product form to Arc'trex over a week ago and am still waiting for reply. Ideally the overall jacket needs a STRONGER zip put in for ALL Cerium Hoodies. The jacket though is lovely, very nice, cozy and warm. Not too puffy either which is nice. I just really wish the zip did not have a problem. It won't go up nor down and is stuck, this is only 2 days after receicing the jacket and wearing it for only 2 days. Working with Arc'trex hopefully for compensation and possible refund/exchange. The inside zip seems stronger than the main zip. Now without a jacket when it is soo cold out....

So good for camping

LOVE the Cerium! I got a chance to take my new Cerium Soul Sonic Hoody on a short backpacking trip at Point Reyes. Loved how the jacket packed down into the stuff sack, around same size as my tent cover, and bringing the Cerium did not feel like a compromise of space in my pack. The campsite was right by the ocean and was very windy. The Cerium was the perfect piece to wear just chilling, cooking, eating, or playing board games. Even as it got colder into the night, my arms, body, and head (hoody!) stayed a comfortable warmth, which was noticeable because the rest of my body was getting colder. I would recommend the Cerium for chilly camping nights, doing something relaxing outside, or sitting in a cold classroom!

Very warm & comfy. I read that it ran a little small, so I ordered a large, but I think they’re true to size. I wish I would’ve ordered a medium, but I still like it. I ordered the orange, which I love, but the dark feathers show through & make the coat look worn & dirty. Very disappointed in the look.

Great hiking jacket!

This is a fantastic jacket for winter hiking. The construction is amazing. Everything is finished perfectly. It is super warm. The fit is great for carrying a pack and allows for great range of motion in the shoulders. I see in some reviews where people complained about the zipper splitting. I can't see how that would happen unless they are wearing it too tight. I have no strain on the zipper. In terms of sizing, I am a solid size 14 and the xl is a perfect fit for me as it allows plenty of room for layers. I would say that the jacket runs small as I don't think that someone who is a size 16-18 could wear size xl unfortunately. I have the black sapphire which I think is a great neutral color. I highly recommend this jacket.

Incredibly warm, but faulty zipper

Incredibly warm, but faulty zipper. Quite disappointed on the zipper quality considering the price. The zipper has already split multiple times and I've only had the jacket for a few weeks. Happy that the jacket has kept me very warm on recent cold days (-25C).

There is nothing to not like about this jacket. Not only is it incredibly lightweight, but it fits just right, keeps you warm (almost too warm sometimes!), and packs down tiny so you can take it anywhere. Highly recommended for any occasion - good for a long outdoor mission, or just a day out in the city!

I bought this jacket and the zipper separated about the fifth time I wore it. I got a store credit, bought the jacket again, tried it on at home, and the zipper separated.. Buy something else.
Also read the reviews. This is a known problem.

Zipper broke

Bought this jacket in September, wore it a handful of times. It’s warm and packable however my zipper broke:/ i’ve read a couple other reviews complaint about the same thing and for such an expensive jacket you would think the quality would be better… the zipper seems cheaply made and didn’t last more than 3 months for me. Luckily i bough the Cerium through REI so i was able to return mine for a full refund but this isn’t always the case with Arc’teryx from what I’ve read. Super bummed because i did love this jacket.

Fun fact: the jacket can be packed into the small cinch back that is stored in the chest pocket. I also love that the hoody is nice and roomy which allows me to easily pull it over a beanie without it feeling tight. It's super warm and fashionable which makes it versatile for any occasion.

Nice Comfy Jacket

"It looks nice and feels soft and comfortable. My only concern is that the down material is somewhat visible, which makes the jacket look dirty. This is especially noticeable on the white one.

Totally worth it!

Super warm down jacket. Very durable. I got snagged on something, but nothing happened to the jacket. Very comfortable fit. I am in between M and L, went with L so I can layer if needed. Pricy, but totally worth it. One of my favorite Arcteryx pieces; I own 7 items and will be adding more in the future.

Warm, light weight and compact

I get cold easily and my Cerium Hoody is my go to jacket for cold weather. It's perfect for traveling because it's warm,super light and compact. I had it with me when hiking in New Zealand and it's perfect! l love all the color options and I have two of them so far.

Complaint About Severe Quality Issues with Jacket

I purchased a light-colored down jacket, but it is filled with a large amount of black down, particularly concentrated along the stitching seams, sleeves, cuffs, and hood. This is entirely inconsistent with the label stating that the jacket contains 90% white down, and the overall appearance is drastically different from the sample shown on your website. The contrast between the black down and the light fabric gives the jacket a moldy appearance, making it completely unwearable.
While your team has confirmed that the jacket’s performance is not compromised, the significant presence of black down in a light-colored jacket severely affects its aesthetic. As a customer, I believe I have the right to receive a product that matches the description. I find it unacceptable that such a severe quality issue has been dismissed as a “normal color variation.”
I hope Arc'teryx takes this issue seriously, improves the way it handles quality complaints, and ensures that similar problems do not occur in the future. As a long-time supporter of Arc'teryx, I expect more than just functionality from your products—I expect the high level of quality and service that the brand promises.

I have exactly the same problem with my jacket. Under the arms and in the elbow crease, when the down moves around with movement, the dark inside lining shows through the front lighter material and looks unsightly.

Disappointing for Defective Product

I recently purchased a cerium hoody, but upon receiving it, I was very disappointed with the quality. The jacket appears to be in poor condition, almost as if it is moldy and second-hand, which is far below the standard I expected.
The stitching areas were discolored, and there were noticeable black spots and scar-like marks on the shoulder cuffs and sleeves. Additionally, the jacket’s overall appearance, including the front, back, sleeves, and even the hood, had black smudges and marks. It looks as though the jacket had been affected by mold or improper handling, which was quite concerning, especially since it did not match the appearance shown on the website.
When I contacted customer service to request a replacement, they informed me that it was a "final sale" and that the black spots were "normal." This response is incredibly frustrating, as I expected better quality and service from such a reputable brand. Unfortunately, the lack of assistance in resolving the issue has left me feeling dissatisfied and let down.
It is disappointing that a product in this condition would be sold to a customer!

The good news is, these spots are not stains but the down insulation in the jacket. At Arc'teryx, we choose to use down as a valuable insulation material due to its exceptional warmth-to-weight ratio, compressibility, and resilience. The reason why you see a different shade is because we do not dye our insulation and we use the down insulation in the natural form to maintain the warmth-to-weight ratio. On brighter or lighter-colored garments, sometimes the down can be visible through the face fabric, especially at the seams and crevasses. We appreciate your understanding and are happy to answer any questions you have.

Customer services told me to wash my brand new down jacket to get rid of this “issue”. This of course did not work as it’s the dark down showing through the light material. A specific design fault. Arcteryx won’t admit their error or exchange the jacket for a darker colour. I am emailing their CEO to see what he has to say on the subject. It really isn’t good enough.

Great companion in-city and the mountains

Mostly there. Purchased for wife. Got a small which felt originally roomy (5’6”, 115 lbs) but appreciate it for layering. Was great to bring to a hiking trip through Norway and Scotland in Sept: low weight for the plans but plenty of warmth in the shoulder season. DWR kept up in the light rain.
Only docked a point due to my wife complaining about the zippers. The zippers felt like an afterthought - a bit flimsy - on an otherwise premium jacket
