Niche but nice

The Squamish jacket has long been my favorite and most used piece, so I was excited to put these to work this alpine season. A couple key features:
1. Packable ionto side pocket, about tennis ball sized.
2. Stretchy waist for layering.
3. Button leg sleeves for easy on/off with shoes.
4. Wind and mild precip resistant.
I used them this summer onb fast and light overnights, windy ridges, and late season cold mornings. The wind resistance was the key feature for me, in addition to keeping bugs away at camp. While I appreciate the weight savings of a button leg fly over zippers, I found that the gaps in the button spacing provided a space for wind to come through. Additionally, anything bigger than a trail runner will not fit through the opening, thus requiring shoes off to put them on. For this reason, I believe a true closed leg would be more efficent and long term durable.
Overall, this is a super niche product but one that shines in the right application.

Great, but no pockets

I live in S. Florida and use this as a very light-weight gym pant. It’s great, with the one exception of not having front pockets.
