Dependable shorts for any ocassion

Got these a few months ago and have used them for all sorts of purposes: trail hiking, running, casual everyday wear. They've been great for each activity. I especially like how lightweight and breathable they are, while being durable enough to handle some outdoor adventure.

Love them. The fit is More like 9" version before the 7"-with-zippers version. I much prefer this fit...not too wide in bottom nor bunchy in front. Finally a re-design that I enjoy. Still mad about Arcteryx changing the Atom and Delta to fitted, oh and the Cormac....lots of complaints and revisions for the Cormac. Just change it back to how it used to be 4 years ago???

I miss the 2023 7inch version

I agree with this comment. The 2023 7in version is excellent/perfect. Climbers want zippered pockets! And the drop in phone rear side pocket is excellent. I hope that Arc continues bringing them back.

Website description incorrect.

Just received these shorts and must say how disappointed I am with them. I have the 7” version which I really like and the description of these 9” version sounded perfect for my needs. However, they do not have zipped hand pockets or a back flap pocket as described on the website, this really is poor and wasted my time and delivery costs.
I would kept the shorts if they had matched the description as the quality is first class.

Still the same description. I have the same issue! What’s going on with you Arcteryx Support??? 4 months and the description is still not right! I ordered on the German page. Now the support is telling me that it’s my fault. I am disappointed

Great Trail Running Shorts

I have not had a prior version of these shorts so cannot speak to whether this version is better or worse than prior versions. I bought the shorts for trail running and backpacking. I think they are great trail running shorts -- light, durable fabric, slightly stretchy, quiet -- but have not had the opportunity to backpack with them yet. I'm glad they do NOT have front pockets because for me those serve no purpose on trail running shorts; anything you put in there just gets in the way when you run. I also like the minimalist rear pockets because anything with zippers would be a bad idea under the waist belt of a backpack.

I wear these all summer long. I don’t even wear any other shorts because of these.
I fell down in scree and slid with a pile of rocks about 20-30 feet down a drainage and the shorts didn’t even tear slightly. I was honestly very surprised. I’ve been abusing three pair of them since then.
As far as the pockets go, I’m a minimalist and usually only carry my ID and credit card with me. Also my key fob has no keys on it so the pockets work just fine and they keep things from falling out of my pocket.
I hope nothing changes about these

Never Buy Arc’teryx items at regular price

I bought the Incendo at the outlet store, I got the sale price but I am not terribly thrilled with the back pockets, would have been better if this short had front left and right pockets.

I wear a size 34 waist jeans. I got the Medium. It was very tight around the waist, and very little crotch movement. It almost felt like they could rip. The back pockets aren't secure enough to hold my key. I returned them. I "might" try the large.

I agree with that post. I bought these at REI hoping for a fit similar to the Aptin shorts, which I love, but which Arc'teryx no longer sells. I have a 32" waist and am slender, but the mediums still pull up into my crotch when I sit down. Hate that. They also feel tighter than the Aptins.

Pockets are weird

Returning. Pockets are weird. I would suggest two typical side pockets (where there’s already have a seam!) and one zippered pocket on the rear. Also, what’s going on with the drawstring on the inside of the waistband? Keep it outside to prevent chafing. Sticking with other brands for running.

Short simple mais efficace. Poches bien conçues. Tissu agréable à porter et résistant. Coupe qui offre un bon compromis entre liberté de mouvement et protection (vent, soleil). L'absence de sous-vêtement intégré le rend polyvalent et il peut m'arriver de le porter en randonnées ou pour faire de l'escalade facile par exemple.
Je ne regrette que l'absence d'une poche zippée pour y ranger mes clés.

Decent running shorts

Overall these are good shorts. Works well for running. I preferred the material used in the older Incendo shorts and think it would improve these. One improvement was the pocket placement, the older version had a zip rear pocket where these have 2 rear pockets and have removed the zippers.

Great shorts for just about anything

I've used these shorts for trail running, day hikes, extended trekking and pretty much everything else. The back pocket is really clever, much better than having stuff bouncing around in a front pocket. They look smart and the fit and articulation couldn't be better Thanks Arc'teryx!

wanted a versatile technical short I could use for the track, the trail, and just sporting around town. the midweight fabric has a nice suede-y feel with a nice amount of stretch. the 9" length is appropriate even for urban adventures. nice necessary but minimalist features, a couple of key pockets, one even has a little reinforced slot (so you can use the key without taking it out of the pocket? explain this to me, arc'teryx.), and that rubberized drawstring. another great arc'teryx product.

Love the Pockets

I’m a big fan of these shorts when it comes to trail running and working out. The pockets are positioned on the hip/buttocks which makes my phone or a small snack feel virtually unnoticeable when I’m running or seated. I also really enjoy the lack of a liner in the shorts.
The 9” inseam does feel slightly long for running, 7-8” might suit these shorts better, but overall they are very nice.
I’m 5’10” and 155lbs, and I wear a size medium.

Last year's Incendo is my favorite pair of shorts. No superfluous pockets, nothing-at-all feel on the fabric, truly a minimalist short. Big steps backward this year, I think these should be called 'Aptin 9' before conflating it with what the Incendo was.
First, the fabric feels to be double the weight. Nicer to sit down in on the trail, not as nice to actually run in. Second, the two big internal mesh pockets on the rear are ridiculous - they hold sweat, and I'll never be putting a phone against my sweaty bum and have it bounce my pants down as I run.

Please note that we do take our customers' feedback into consideration when designing or redesigning a product. Based on the feedback that we received on the Incendo Shorts, we wanted to make them more durable and abrasion resistant. We also wanted to address the need for more storage while running.

I just loved the old Incendo! Flexibility and weight was just perfect. Now that it's finally worn out (after having lasted really long!) it seems I cannot simply buy again. Too bad ...
