In practice, does its "Gore-Tex Infinium" membrane work well enough as an outer layer for a short commute in light drizzle, or will it wet through quickly, making it strictly a windy-day piece? Thank you

Hi there, thanks for reaching out. The Solano Hoody is made with GORE-TEX WINDSTOPPER. It is windproof and treated with an FC0 DWR  (durable water repellent) finish, which helps it shed light moisture. It would be ideal as an outer layer for short commutes and light drizzle. That said, it is not fully waterproof, so in prolonged exposure or heavier rain, it may not be ideal. We hope this helps!

It features a breathable, windproof, and waterproof fabric that provides protection against the elements, making it ideal for mild conditions or as part of a layering system. Item is not water proof.   When I wearing that last time in German.    Rain did wet through the jacket.  Why?

Hi there, thanks for reaching out. The Solano Hoody is made with a 2L GORE-TEX WINDSTOPPER® fabric. This material is windproof and weather-resistant, but it is not fully waterproof. In light to moderate rain, it will shed water effectively, but in heavier or prolonged rain, it may eventually wet out. For full waterproof protection, we recommend one of our jackets made with a 3L GORE-TEX fabric, such as the Beta Jacket. We hope this helps!

Both the Solano Hoody and Jacket offer excellent windproofing, weather protection, and breathability for high-output activities. The main differences are that the Hoody includes a hood and the Jacket features 50D recycled nylon under the arms for added ventilation and stretch. Another excellent option to consider is the Norvan Jacket. It's ultralight, breathable, windproof, and made with PFAS-free GORE-TEX, offering full wind and water protection in a packable design.
