The man with a baby’s face. Sean grew up in Regina, Saskatchewan, amongst a sea of wheat, staring into a horizon that stretched as far as his imagination. One day, peering out, he got a glimpse of fellow flatlanders and legendary Canadian snowboard brothers Craig and Mark McMorris sliding sideways downhill on something. Sean discovered snowboarding then and there, built a drop-in off his parents’ roof, practiced day and night, and then moved to Whistler, B.C., when he was just 16 years old. He spent his late teens chasing big air and slopestyle results in national and international competitions, until one day he got a call from a film crew. Since then he’s been turning heads with backcountry video segments and magazine covers that continue to get nominated for awards, and he doesn’t appear to have aged a day. That might be because he still carries all the same enthusiasm and energy he did back in the Prairies, when he first discovered the sport at age 11. And that might also be why he keeps getting so many calls to go shoot—it’s just fun to be around someone having that much fun.
