By Austrian standards, Joi, as he is fondly called by his friends, was a late bloomer - he started skiing at four and freeriding at 14. He was also a bit of an outcast, dabbling in 'Big Foot skiing', a ski disciple he still romanticizes. Luckily he found a copy of Matchstick Productions Ski Movie 1 and was restored to sanity by falling in love with free skiing. Joi now travels around the world making his own ski films with his company, Whiteroom Productions - not bad for a kid who skied half his life in hand-me-down gear. The self-professed computer nerd, who is still often found playing his Gameboy, is also known for his obsessive Google Earth planning that sometimes leads him to dubious ski lines in very remote areas. With such an imaginative and creative mind, Joi’s only limit is time.
