i have been buying Arc’teryx ski clothes for decades and have come to expect outstanding performance and longevity. I bought this jacket with the confidence that these attributes would continue - and they have. You only have to look at the outstanding suit that CMH gives for 1 Million feet to realize that Arc’teryx means highest quality. My only complaint is that I wish my arms were longer.

Just got this this season, was super stoked to try it out for skiing, and replace my north face shell. I was super impressed with the way it performed on the mountain, and it will 100% be my go to for a long time. It also does well with casual wear, wore it on a rainy day in the city and was equally comfortable.

With little use, it started to disassemble

A jacket that at first glance seemed to be made of excellent material and seam construction. But with a few regular uses, and even taking all the care recommended by the manufacturer, it simply began to fall apart. The glued seams are all opening up and it's no longer possible to use the jacket.
This is extremely frustrating for a garment of this price. It was my first and last experience with Arc'Teryx products.

My go-to snow sports jacket for 20 years. This thing has skied, camped, hiked, snowshoed, ice-fished, etc, etc with me. Finally, the interior seam tape is delaminating. What a run. Attaching photos—This classic has not changed much!

All good but colors

I've been a loyal fan of Beta AR jackets, valuing their top-notch durability, functionality, and design. Over the years, I've updated mine regularly, but the recent trend of dual-tone designs and overly muted, dull colors has left me disappointed. The lack of vibrancy is holding me back from purchasing newer models.

The jacket is very comfortable, quiet and very light. No matter how heavy the rain or snow is, it keeps you completely dry. It is also completely windproof. The collar provides additional protection when you don't need the hood.

Great if you want a $600.00 windbreaker

You can't include a hood hide away collar and a zipper? I mean it looks cool. But for the price I'd expect a jacket with actual sewing instead of glued seams that come apart after a few years of outdoor use.

Happy but also sad. I loved this jacket it did preform really well, BUT it wetted out by the end of 1 day skiing in the mountains. Truly and all around jacket, BUT if it’s snowing all day, you’re gunna get wet. At least I did. My assumption is if it hadn’t been snowing this would have been a 5 star review. But I’m glad it did and just think it’s valuable information bc making decisions on $$$$ jackets can be a life savor or deal breaker, you decide.

Très bonne veste qui remplit parfaitement son rôle, qualité et durabilité impeccable, je l’ai acheté il y a un an et l’ai essayé au ski ainsi que sous la pluie ,en randonnée ou en ville et je n’ai jamais eu aucun problème.
Seule ombre au tableau , dans mon cas il faut la retraiter à l’heure où j’écrit , mais cela se fait en 20minutes.

Too soon to tell

It feels lighter than other Goretex Pro Arc'teryx jackets. It does not have a ski pass pocket. It does have Recco. But I have had the jacket for less than a month and I am still getting used to it. I expect it to perform as intended but probably won't have enough information for a valid review. I would suggest, a 1 month, 6 month and 11 month review process.

C'est une très bonne veste contre tout type d'intempéries, on ne ressent pas le vent et encore moins la pluie ou la neige ,la capuche offre une très bonne protection et ,moi ,qui porte des lunettes ,même elles sont à l'abri et c'est très agréable de ne pas avoir la pluie sur les verres.
De plus ,elle très légère ,elle propose des coloris originaux et les poches sont très spacieuse.

Great well rounded jacket does its job

Just hit the slopes with this for the first time today. Felt great! By far my favorite jacket I’ve worn thus far. Great wind proof capability and of course, very waterproof. Got a lil warm at one point and even had to shed some base layers thanks to this jacket. 10/10

Great coat!!

Use during the spring and fall when weather is not so intense. Works well also on colder summer days because of the vents under the arms. On feature I dislike is the hood that is designed for a helmet. Hood ids way to big using otherwise. Would be nice when purchasing the coat to have an option of a standard hood. Love the smooth operating zippers. Not sharp edges like the standards zippers of other clothing! All around excellent product. (This is my 3rd coat!!)

Great all-round jacket

Beta All Round is my go-to piece for backpacking trips and mountain pursuits. It strikes the perfect balance between weight, pack size and protection. The 80D fabric on the shoulders makes it a good option for heavier packs. It has a wider fit than my other Arc'teryx shells making it a good choice for layering during the winter months.

Overpriced rain jacket

This is a crappy over priced rain jacket. DON'T buy from this company. Horrible customer service and they don't stand behind their products. Bought a Theta AR back in the day as a heavy duty shell for Ice climbing, Moutainering, and Search and Rescue work. It rocked! It had a simple zipper issue so sent it in for repair. Was told the Gore-Tex wore out and they did not make that jacket model any more so they sent me this hunk of junk Beta AR. This is a sick outdoor shell.... if ....your walking from your luxury car into the luxury grocery store. Gonna be standing under a wet and icy belay? Don't get this! Depending on it to get you through actual mountaineering applications? NOPE, not this jacket. Using it to go help the lost or injured in the wilderness? NO.NO.NO.

Wow, thanks for all these reviews. Was looking at this jacket, but after reading the reviews and the company's responses I'm running in the other direction. Love my Patagonia and they will stand behind it in full force!! C'mon Arcteryx, stand behind quality!!

Beta AR with cancer chemical

I have found out that this jacket has PFAS in it and there have been tests done that says it sheds this regardless of the company's quality control. How can you sell this? It causes cancer and is bad for the environment. I would like my money back

Hi there. Thanks for sharing your feedback on the Beta AR Jacket. We are sorry to hear that you are disappointed with it not being PFC-free yet. PFAS has been present for decades in consumer goods. While they effectively extend the lifetime of garments, they also known to persist in the environment. This environmental persistence is a real concern and an obstacle to their continued use. We have, however, introduced products made with a PFC-free GORE-TEX ePE membrane, delivering durable, waterproof, windproof, breathable performance without the environmental concerns associated with PFCs.

Delaminated membrane, look for something else!

As a mountain guide, I need good shells. Bought one from arc teryx a few years ago, used it for different hikes but not every day, maybee 50 times max, washed it properly with recommended expensive product but the membrane delaminated. Contacted arc teryx, sent it to Switzerland, the "expert" said it was contaminated (never had more information after asking more questions). They proposed 40%off or send back, as I decided I never would buy again from them I got it back, use it for gardening. Worst service ever, more expensive than other brands, look for something else!

Arcteryx in my opinion was a good Company in the beginning more they grow quality suffered so I stopped buying Arcteryx after I get few bad products. on the end its Globalization era where customer isn't appreciated as before, if you don't want to buy pure schmuck from third world Country would to be cool with name brand item :-)

Excellent jacket

I found the jacket as described on the website. I reviewed the sizing chart repeatedly before purchasing, and it turned out to be correct for me. The fit was perfect, which has been a challenge. I'm 5'10", 195 lbs, with a chest of 46-47 inches, and long arms. It's light, well designed, with very functional pockets, and a collar that's separate from the hood. All in all I'm very pleased with the purchase.
