THE base layer!

Wonderful winter base layer! I recently purchased the Rho for winter crag, hiking and snowboarding ventures. When looking to be successful outdoors in cold temps you need the right base, mid and shell. The Rho is very warm and buttery soft without feeling stifling which I love since I often overheat when being active and above all it just feels really good on my skin I'll likely get more.

Versatile performance for winter and spring!

This baselayer has been my go-to for a wide range of activities this winter and spring, from multipitch climbing in Yosemite to cycling and skiing. It's light enough for high-output activities yet keeps you warm when layered with a shell. I wore it just under a shell during a snowy trip to Tahoe in the low 20s and stayed toasty warm.
The arm pocket is a nice touch; I've used it to store chapstick, ID, and credit cards. It's become one of my favorite pieces, even for everyday wear.

I LOVE this top. It feels like a lighter weight hug, but it is perfect for layering up on changing conditions. I usually have dark colors in my quiver so this light teal is a fun option. Like the heavier RHO, I may need to get more because I could wear this everyday. (Alaska weather)!

New stitching style is too delicate

While this is still a great looking shirt, and I love the look of the new stitching, it snags like crazy! My first time wearing it I walked too close to the tag on a hotel towel and it lightly caught. Even though it isn't super noticeable, it now has a tuck and fuzz. The stitching on the older versions is definitely more durable and I hope they go back to it.

Ordered for up and about during fall/winter season and it’s perfect. It’s light but has warmth to it. I am usually size S in regular fit but ordered size M because of the fitted look and I like my clothes to be fit but not too loose. Great base layer

Bought this in summer for hiking/ camping base layer. Have used on multiple trips- great for hiking/ camping in colder weather as base layer. I would say fabric is light fleece/ brushed material. Not super bulky- wish it could be more slim cut in stomach as there is lots of extra fabric that bunches- not a huge deal to me. Wore on camping/ hiking trip in Oregon which had cooler weather- so glad I brought this!! Was great in day time for hikes, and as base layer in evenings with light puffy jacket. Can not wait to wear it for ski season/ winter hikes/ cross country/ etc. this is a great all around base layer- prefer it so far to my merino Wool layers.
I am 5’3”, 120-125 lb and got an XS and it’s perfect- small was too much material in torso for me. I am more of an hourglass shape. Typically I wear small but XS was perfect for me- I usually just wear tanktop/ sports bra underneath.

Love this base layer. I use it for mostly for skiing and camping. Just the base layer and ski jacket is enough to keep me warm on a 30ish temp day. Held up well through many washes.

Please bring back previous design

Please bring back the previous design of the Rho LT Zip Neck. Everything about it (collar, sleeve logo, colors, fit) was better -- more functional and attractive. I purchased five of the previous style in different colors and looked forward to purchasing more for years to come.

I've been looking for a top like this for so long - nice light base layer or summer layer vs a heavier fleece. Love the shorter slightly boxy fit vs body hugging - nothing else like this out there for women these days. I'm 5'5", 128 and a small fits perfectly

I love the fabric, love the tall snuggly collar, hate the fit, hate the pocket. The fit is way too loose and boxy in the middle for base layer. The kangaroo pocket is bulky and has no practical use.

The fabric is nice and does keep me warm, but I really dislike the extra pocket on the lower part of the shirt, it rubs my hip, I wish I could cut it off, the key pocket was much more handy on the arm. The fit is very boxy and unflattering for a woman. Maybe some do not care about the fit, but I much preferred the 2021 model, which was a much nicer feminine fit.

Yes, please bring back the previous style. I have six of them and would buy many more. The new style is ugly in comparison and does not fit as well.

Excellent, but not as good as it used to be

This has been my favorite base layer for years. It's still excellent - a perfect layering piece, comfortable on its own in cool temperatures or high activity or an ideal base with heavier pieces over it. The fabric is wonderful. BUT - the new cut (maybe last year?) is a huge disappointment. Base layers should be comfortably form fitting - this new shape, as is evident on the model, is like boxy pajamas. It's so much further from the skin that it no longer ideally serves the purpose of a base layer at all. It is much less flattering, but also much less useful. Going down a size doesn't work, because then the sleeves are too short and shoulders too narrow.
This is very disappointing - but also in keeping with the unfortunate direction Arcteryx seems to be going. Many other layering pieces, such as the Kyanite, have also gotten bigger, more shapeless, and less technically useful. Why???
I still love the Rho LT Zip and wear one almost daily in the winter, but if I'd known they'd changed in this way, I'd have searched for prior years' versions rather than buying new ones.

I have six of the previous style and they are wearing out. I have looked everywhere for them but to no avail. Yes, please!!!!!! bring back the old version. I will by a dozen!!!! The previous style was a great go to shirt for recreation and casual wear. I get compliments whenever I wear it.

Love this shirt, the material is nice and soft and does not pill. As for the fit, I am 5'-1" at 125lbs and I got the medium which is slim on me. If you want a loose fit consider sizing up.

This is my favourite base layer. I have used it in every activity this winter: alpine touring, running, cycle commuting, hiking. It keeps me so warm and fits me so well. I have a small upper body and the extra small fits perfectly. An amazing base layer!
