Great base layer for any activity

I bought these in store so I was able to try them on and was beyond extra tic to find a size that actually fit me. I am 5ft 6in with a hip circumference of 49.5in and I bought the XL which fit with just a smidge of elbow room for bending and sitting. I can’t believe it took me this long to discover these for a base layer under my snowboarding semi insulated bib. My thighs are always the first thing to get cold and the last thing to warm up especially when riding open chairs in blisters storming conditions but with this added to my cold weather arsenal I have been able to keep myself warmer, Finally!!

Super comfortable and provides warmth without bulk

I bought this layer to wear underneath my shell pants for downhill skiing and cross country skiing and it is awesome! The insulation and design really does add warmth without bulk. The waist is high and very comfortable because it is wide and stretchy. The length is not a problem for ski boots because the lower leg material is smooth and thin. In terms of warmth (which is a subjective personal experience), for me the hybrid design falls right in between a regular base layer and my absolute go to for long really cold days (as in colder than -10) the Axina Knickers (discontinued product that is a full insulation boot cut base layer). I ordered size Small and have full range of movement, I am 5'5" almost 120 lbs, small boned, with a bit of a booty ;)

Awkward Fit

I love the Rho series, I live by this series in the winter.
But something is off with these... The insulated thigh section feels so weird when performing. Maybe it is a texture thing, but very weird, very conscious of the different fabrics.
Wish I could exchange them.

New winter favourite

These pants are amazing. Purchased for winter running as an outer layer and underneath my snow pants for skiing as a base layer. Great for up to -20C days. They are like a light atom material on the upper legs with legging like material on the calf. They do have a short inseam around 25’ which happens to be great for petites. Purchased true to size as they do stretch slightly with wear.

I bought these as a base layer for skiing and mountaineering. So far I haven't been able to test them out in the mountains but from wearing them around the house I can say they will make an excellent base in terms of warmth! I wish there were a drawstring because I find myself having to pull them up to adjust after moving around a bit.

Love the mix, smaller range of motion

A mix of leggings and insulated pants. The bottom is stretchy like leggings that will make it easy to put in ski boots. I wear a medium in other bottoms, but for these pants I am sizing up to a large. The side panel is stretchy but the insulated section is not. So I sized up to a large as the medium fits but I have a limited range of motion so for skinning up or skate skiing I need more range of motion.

Mon pantalon préféré… Tellement que je prend le temps d’en parler ici.
Je comptais les porter pour la course par temps froid mais depuis que je les ai reçu j’ai du mal à les enlever. On est trop bien dans ces pantalons là. Autant ils font bien comme sous couche, autant ils font bien comme pantalon de détente ou pour les promenade des chiens. Ils sont super confortable. Je mesure 5’6’’ et je pèse 125lbs j’ai pris les small. C’est vrai que j’aurais pris 1ou 2 pouces de plus mais avec des bas ça revient au même.

Pairs well with Sentinel pant for skiing

Finally pulled the trigger with these as I have eyeing them for a while and I am am so happy I did! These are surprisingly warm and pair well with the Sentinel pant. I used to have to wear 2 pairs of leggings every day while skiing and finally can get away with use these. Bought these specifically for skiing but finding other uses like winter fly fishing under my waders.
Only feedback for the next generation of these: include a draw string at the waist to cinch down as they stretch out slight with wear.

Would be perfect... if they were 4" longer

I've been looking for pants like these for a long time- I bought them because of the extra insulation around the thighs. I do a lot of winter hiking in the White Mountains and I have this weird problem where my thighs and butt get cold when I'm out for many hours, even with vigorous activity. I don't know how to explain it, because there is plenty of "natural" insulation lol...
Anyways, these are exactly what I was looking for except they are SO short. Why?!? I'm 5'7" and they are basically capri length in a M. It makes no sense why Arc would make insulated leggings designed for winter wear in a cropped length. I'm trying to decide if I'll keep them and wear with ski socks, return them, or try to see if I can find a tailor to add fabric to the bottom (which is admittedly a ridiculous thing to be considering for pants that already cost $200).

I tend to be on the cold side and i am always looking for tights with some insulation. I thought these would be a good investment for heliskiing in colder temps. However, the fit was quite tight in the hips/butt area and thusly i had to return them as i could not flex my hips fully and they would not work well for their intended purpose. The leg length was fine. These would likely work much better for someone who has a less athletic/ flatter bum than i do! I have a small waist ( 26-27" ) and it fit fine there.

I bought these pants about a month ago. The idea was to have something to underneath my ski pants for resort days and under my waders for cooler days on the river. I am very pleased with the fit and the additional warmth they provide. They fit like an insulated tight and are pretty low profile, not bulky. I haven't used them for skiing yet and not sure how they'll fit under a ski boot but I'm not too worried. I'm 5'6" and have a bum/hips/thighs and a narrower waisted, a medium fit great.

My new go-to for cold resort days

I love this hybrid insulated base layer that has extra synthetic insulation in the front for my thighs and on the back for my butt and thighs. It adds extra warmth where I need it for sitting on the chair lift without the bulk of a full insulated base layer. This is my new go-to for any colder days at the resort!

I was so excited about this pants. I have a hard time finding bottoms because of my thicker thighs and smaller waist. Because of that I’ve stayed clear of certain brands a while. I was happy to have these fit!! I’m a size 4-6 and bought a medium. They are s high waisted and stretchy.

These keep me so warm and are really comfortable and easy to move in. They're lighter and less bulky than the heavyweight rho leggings but keep me just as warm.
Only downside, no pockets and for a winter legging they are a cropped leg? I'm 5ft 6" and they are way above my ankle. Have to wear them with boots. More colors and longer length please.

Warm / comfortable for daily activities and hiking

Such unique pants with the mix of materials. I love how these feel like loose leggings, comfortable, easy to move around in but are actually warm and durable! My thighs are a part of my body that easily get cold for some reason and I find these pants fix that issue with their insulation. The materials are comfortable and soft. These have been perfect for colder temperatures and since getting them I find I reach for them often for daily activities, climbing, and hikes. I range between a size 2-4 with Arcteryx pants and stand 5' 2". I chose a size Small which I am glad I did as they are a perfect fit! The stretchy waistband makes it easy to wear and I like how the bottom of the pants fit like leggings so it makes it easy to slide under winter boots. I hope they come out with more colors. The only thing that would make these pants better would be zippered side pockets!

something wrong with a size / or functionality

The quality is good. While all my gear comes from Arcteryx this product surprised me a lot. The size formally fits , however it supposed to be a base layer - without putting any extra layer on top my movements are already limited. Very bad for cloth which is supposed to be functional.

sizing and size descriptions are OFF the MARK!

quality of the product - ok
size information - terrible, incorrect, and misleading. Give the dimensions of the garment. this is my routine review these days after every purchase because it is unexpected from a company such as this to not give correct information. ALL models wear size S regardless of what their body measurements are. Sizing chart and their body measurements do not match whatsoever, so whey even give that info? Just give garment measurements, and fit type, and stick to the chart sizes matching garment measurements! Simple!
