I wore this jacket paired with the Norvan long sleeve shirt on a run on a mostly cloudy day with temperatures at -3C/37F and winds at 19km/h or 12mph. I was cold for most of the run. This jacket is minimally insulated in parts and totally uninsulated in others. The hood is a single layer of uninsulated material, despite the description on the Arc’teryx website. I will stick with my atom LT for temps below freezing but will use the Norvan for temps above that.

Avoid if you want wind, rain, or cold protection

If you’re running in the cold or wind, avoid this jacket. Anything below 32F/0C, this just becomes useless. No wind protection, no water protection, low quality hood, and so little insulation it shouldn’t be called a jacket.
For $300, there are just far better options. Take it from me — Gave the jacket a shot on a cold windy morning in Boston and unfortunately I can’t exchange it because it’s “used”. Instead of getting 20% for ReGear so they can sell it to the next victim.
Might be useful for running in Los Angeles winters…

The Norvan Insulated Hoody is designed to be a breathable midlayer with strategic insulation that is mapped to keep core warm whilst enhanced ventilation is provided through the back and underarms which are not insulated. For full protection, we recommend layering under the Norvan Shell Jacket. That being said, we appreciate your comments and we will pass them to our team.

Veste achetée pour le running. Au départ le prix interpelle mais dès la livraison et son unboxing celle ci révèle toute ses capacités ! Déferlante et isolante, elle est légère et se porte juste avec un t shirt. Franchement je suis bluffé! Je connaissais la qualité Arcteryx mais là... bravo!

Great fit and details

I absolutely adore this jacket. It has a fantastic fit and is perfect for running. I love all the details, such as the elastic cuffs, the perforated back mesh, and the pocket that can be used as a bag.

Tolle Jacke für anstrengende Aktivitäten wenn es kalt aber eben nicht super kalt ist (dann kann man immer noch mit Schichten arbeiten). Ich habe noch die ältere Argus Jacke, die eher warm wie eine Atom ist und dann meist zu warm. Schnitt ist angenehm tailliert und in keinster Weise eng - wie man es von Arcteryx. Klar die Jacke ist teuer und ein Nischenprdukt, dass sich aber beim Laufen, Skitouren und Cross Country Skiing schnell bezahlt machen kann. Ich kam die auf jeden Fall empfehlen wie auch die passende Hose dazu.

Hard to beat

The price for this minimalistic Trailrunning Jacket is impressive - but the experiences I made are impressive as well. Packing size is minimal, the jacket dries quick and withstands dew and light rain. It is definitively my first choice for my next winter runs.

Good for aerobic efforts in cold weather.

Personally this is my favourite style of jacket for cold weather running and Ski Mo. The front insulation provides warmth but I don't overheat thanks to the ventilated back panel. I also like the ventilated back panel when wearing any sort of pack to reduce sweat build up. The hood is nice but my only small gripe is that it is hard to put back in with cold hands so I usually don't bother.

Big price for nothing

Why is it a huge differenc between men and women Norvan insulated hoody ? Men get a thin retractable hoody while women gets a insulated one ! Its not even the same ”jacket”

No idea what is going on with the mens model, looks like really cheap jacket and what is the non insulated hood.
Anyone reading this save your money and kait for The nano air ultralight.
