Super Warm, yet very light.

I have nothing to say but excellent vest, super warm, very versatile in layering (either outer or inner). I purchased (3/2022) in small (90 lbs, 5,1in) perfect size for me, love the color (labyrinth). I like very much the high neck zip up because that’s where I get easily cold and escape the body hit quickly. This is absolutely a keeper.

Favorite vest

This is my favorite vest for travel. I have this in 2 other colors and couldn’t resist buying the labyrinth. It packs down small and provides quite a bit of warmth. I’ve used it under skiing shells as well and it was a great piece when I needed a bit more insulation.

Was great for a few months...

Had this almost a year and wore it occasionally and enjoyed the cut and size. Sadly the down in the back section started to shift and shed through the seems. Appears defective as other areas of the vest have remained fluffy and have a request out for warranty. Fingers crossed that I just got a dud as other products have held up well for many years.

Évitez les couleurs claires, car j'ai acheté ce gilet en jaune, la couleur est magnifique et brillante mais on voit des taches sombres, à cause des plumes foncées utilisées pour le duvet. Pourquoi avoir utilisé du duvet foncé dans une veste au tissu clair et léger ? J'ai du renvoyer la veste alors que j'en aimais tant la couleur, mais ça paraissait trop comme taché ou sali, quelle déception !

Suited for pear shape

I was really keen to get this and started with a M being a size 10/12. The quality and feel are outstanding but unfortunately neither the M or S fit right. Both were too large around the hip area and despite being able to tighten this area they did not fit at all. It is made for pear shaped women. When on the warmth is incredible. Please review the shape in this piece as I wish it would fit.

I bought this a month ago for hiking in the Rockies. The warmth did not disappoint. Also, great for running errands and dog walks! I find the fit a bit large especially in the lower half so size accordingly.

Very small fitting

Just received the medium today and it was so small. I am 5'7" 140lbs and fit and am a good solid medium in 99.9% of clothes I purchase. This vest in medium I could hardly get zipper up over a white short sleeve t-shirt. Had to return it.

Love the vest, hate the feathers

I want to love this vest, as I love all things Arcteryx. I have several of Arcteryx items and love them but this vest does not seem to have the same quality. Feathers started coming out of the seams the first time I wore it. I get that it is going to happen occasionally but there are lots of them and makes the vest look cheap.

Yes, the hourglass shape is problematic

I bought this vest even though I had read the reviews saying the hourglass shape of the vest is weird. Normally, anything sized Medium in Arc'teryx fits me very well, so I figured it could not be that bad. But it is...
So if you like the colors of the Patagonia vests, I highly recommend to go for it instead, even though I am a big fan of Arc'teryx. For this particular item, the fit it weird. You need to have a very severe pear shape to really fit that vest well. None of the other jackets are like that. The quality is good, but the design is not great.

Poor quality

I was excited to get this, but disappointed when it arrived. I'm a size 8-10 and ordered a small. It fit well across the chest and waist, but was too large on the hips - it's built for a pear shape. More importantly, the armholes are far too small (I don't have big arms!) and dig into the armpits. The toggle on the zip is teeny and made of flimsy plastic. When I did manage to get the zip into it, I was frustrated that it was a left hand zip, and the zip itself was very thin. Should have listened to the negative reviews. Such a shame.

One of my new favorite items in my closet. Very warm and toasty! So far very pleased. I've used this mountain biking as well as just out running errands in the cool Chicago Fall - it's been great just over a sweatshirt or paired with a half zip and leggings for more strenuous activity.

This article has become my favourite inner layer in the winter. It is incredibly warm and I regret not buying the hoody version as my arms are always colder! This vest is also packable and a great item for traveling. It is true that the down comes out at some of the seams but it hasn't come out in substantial amounts. Most down jackets experience this same issue. Instead of pulling them out, I was advised to massage the feathers back in from the inside. I also wish that the zipper would be a better quality. It is awfully flimsy and I can see potential failure in the vest happening in the zipper first. I wear a S as it fits a bit tighter.

Unlike some reviews I absolutely love the fit. The vest provides good range of motion due to the design around the hips. As a 5'3 105 lbs small chested women it's hard to find a piece of clothing that doesn't bunch up around the chest. Tried a vest from another comparable company and the issue was it being to tight around the hips.
Pairs well with my Codetta Coat and layers very good!

Easy to Rip

I owned this for 3 weeks and it has a rip in it now. I walked near a corner of a table and it snagged and ripped the vest. This is the first piece of clothing that I have that this happened to. I would have thought that for the price it would be more durable.

excellent in some features; impossible in others

Someone else mentioned the design so I thought I'd add my perspective. I'm 5'7", 110lbs, swimmer/runner build ie cousin to a lodgepole pine. Using Arc'teryx Fit Guide I'm a small. So I ordered a small: the chest was perfect; the collar wonderful neither tight nor too airy; the armholes small, tight, restrictive; the tapered out hips ridiculously voluminous. This design was built on a pear. Really disappointing bec. I love my arc'teryx coat, other coat, partner's coat...

great vest, though not up to usual Arc'Teryx perfection

I own a lot of Arc'Teryx. That's all I get for Christmas every year. This piece has a lot of good things to say about it. It's incredibly light, but very warm for the weight. It fits underneath other jackets well and fits over mid-layers if you want it outside. My only complaint is that the fit is a little weird. It is kind of tight across my chest but lose by my hips. It works great, I just wish I had a tiny bit more room up top and a tiny bit less on the bottom.

This is a very warm, lightweight and figure flattering vest that I like to layer over my covert hoodie in winter time. So comfortable that I sometimes forget to take it off indoors until I start overheating. I carry it in my purse when I travel since I tend to get cold quickly.

great vest. bought it to wear under my shell jacket when I snowboard and it does a great job at keeping my warm. i usually take a S or M but took an XS because I wanted it to be close to core and fit under my shell. really love it, end up wearing it all the time. great fit.

Have not tested in cold yet but upon arrival i was trying to decide between this one and another name brand vest. The fit is just for me. I have a hard time finding a very femenine fit to fit my curves, this is the only vest I have encountered that is perfect. Normally the bust doesnt fit and then the body is loose, this one fit perfectly in all areas.

A couple of issues for me

The vest looked great, until I tried it on. It has an unusual cut. It has a pretty dramatic hourglass shape, and I found that the bottom hem was too big around, although the rest of the vest fit fine. I appreciate the weight savings by having no drawcord, but this vest just wouldn't work for me without one. The second issue was that the front panels are cut on a curve. If you unzip the vest, it is very apparent. The zippers do not lie in a straight line. They curve. What this did for me was cause the front of the vest to pooch out. I guess that wouldn't be so bad, but since I'm small chested, it mainly pooched out towards the bottom, which made me look pregnant. I have another vest made by a different company that has front panels that are not curved, and it does not have this issue. I hope Arcteryx redesigns this vest in the future, because I'd actually like to have one.

2019 Update: I just purchased this vest again, and am happy with the fit this time around. The vest now has a drawcord. The fit was a little inconsistent, and I had to order 3 different ones, all in the same size, before I got the perfect fit. The one I ended up with didn't have such an extreme hourglass shape. As some other reviewers mentioned it fits small in the chest and a little larger in the hips, but that actually works great for my body type. I'm 5'5" and 107 lbs. and ordered a small. I have enough room that I can put this over a t-shirt, plus a light or medium weight fleece. The other two I tried fit smaller. So I'm not sure if the one I kept was cut large, or if the other two were cut small, but I'm happy to have the vest now. The front zipper is still on a curve in the front. I would prefer a more straight cut front and zipper, but this seems to look and feel ok. I would change my original review to 5 stars now, but I don't see how to do that, so I'm updating here.

Perfect for all situations

I waited too long to oder this! Perfect for layering over a hoody or under a shell. Ive been wearing it non-stop and find it great for cold weather running and running errands alike. Fits well, light weight, and nice big pockets.

Just what I was looking for!

I needed a stylish lightweight warm vest for long walks with my dog. My rainwear is too bulky for clear sunny days and this vest is perect. I bought it at the storee in Vancouver and took it on its maiden walk today on a rare sunny weekend day. I noticed the down puffed up as I walked but thee beauty of this vest is that it has the warmth of down without thee bulk. Who wants to look like the Micheelin tire maan anyway? I also like the neck--not too high but flattering.
I bought mine in black because it is my favouritee color and matches best with my sports tops. I am a size 6 but I bought a Medium because the cut is fitted. I'll be able to wear it over sweaters ss well as with sport tops. I love the way it looks with my skinny jeans too. The colors were all attractive and very cheerful but for me black is always best. Thanks for making such a great vest!

Great piece

I have this vest in blue. It's a beautiful colour and the vest itself is incredibly warm. I have mostly been wearing it while out and about in the city on cool days, but I think I will get a lot of wear out of it as a mid-layer when out in the backcountry because it is so light. Another great Arc-teryx product!!
