This is my second AR-385a and I love it. It is very light, and it provides a lot of back support. No pinch points.
It does run a little big so I would pick a size smaller.

Great all round harness.

Love the wide gear loops, even on the XS harness. Relatively comfortable to hang in for how lite and compact this harness is. Hopefully my quiver of one harness, outside of extended big wall missions.

Perfect Trad and Multipitch climbing harness

This is the perfect harness for long days with heavy racks. Super comfortable at belays and while climbing and gear loops are a good size. Adjustable leg loops are a plus as well and so far, durability seems reasonable.

I was staying in an Airbnb and had packages stolen. The customer service guy was attentive and got it redirected mid route on delivery day!! He even followed up to check that I had received it. Comfort and Function!

The AR harness excels in both comfort and function! The wide waist band provides great support at hanging belays and while belaying or working a project. The adjustable leg loops are handy and the gear loops are large enough for a double rack on the front loops plus draws/slings on the back loops. Sizing reference: I wear a size 2 in Arc'teryx pants and a close to fully tightened Small harness.

My favourite harness, I've used it for the past two years for going to the gym, crag, or on multi's. The warp-strength means I get far less sweaty than with my old, padded harnesses. I love the adjustable leg loops and it's so comfortable for those long days.

I’ve owned a few harnesses and always found them uncomfortable to hang in, or have an awkward gaping at the back of the waist. I love how this harness is so high waisted and hugs my waist perfectly, the adjustable leg loops are a plus, and it’s so comfortable to hang in (ordered a small, normal wear a size 27 in jeans)

I am so pleased with my AR-385a Harness
The fit is perfect for me, the adjustable leg loops allow my to use it for ice in the winter, wearing my grubby bolting pants or send in the sunshine in my capri's
The waist band and leg loops are cozy when Im hanging out working on a climb or doing multiple rappels descending in the Alpine.

I bought this to replace a harness that was causing pain during hanging belays. This is a serious upgrade.. so comfortable! I found my weight was really evenly distributed between the thick hip belt and the leg loops. I had no pain during a hanging belay. It's also nice for taller ladies (I'm 5'10") because the belay loop is long. The hip belt can actually sit on my waist, rather than being awkwardly pulled down my waist, and up my crotch! My ONLY issue with this harness is that the gear loops aren't stiff at the connection to the hip belt. This just makes clipping gear back into the gear loops while you're climbing a little awkward. Still, it is worth the comfort of the harness.

Feels great, hate the gear loops for trad

I'd been wanting one of these for a while after hearing awesome reviews from friends on how comfortable they are. Mine is super comfortable and lightweight which is awesome! I love the size of the gear loops and the fact that it has ice clipper spots. Comfort wise, this is perfect for alpine and multipitch routes with hanging belays. What I don't like is the way that the gear loops are slanted. For sport climbing this is nice, that it slides the next draw down close to the front, but for trad climbing it is awful. I don't want the next piece on my harness to slide down, I want to be able to easily grab the piece I want. The gear loops make it hard to put a cam back if I want to use a different one since it pushes all of the everything forward. The leg loops also don't stay put and tend to loosen on their own. It would also be great to see a larger haul loop on the back. On the xs it is so tiny, you can only clip one carabiner to it and nothing else. The photo made it look a lot bigger, though that was a larger size harness. Overall a great harness but could use some small tweaks.

I've been using this harness heavily (several times a week for the last 4 months or so) and I love it! It's so comfortable and I love the wide waist band. The color is great too! I am a 28" waist with 40" hips and the medium fits great if it's all the way tightened. The small fit me but the leg loops were too tight. If you have athletic legs I would size up!

Great fit, rad styling

In order to give this harness a proper review, I need to describe my build. I'm tall with a curvy yet athletic build which is to say I have wide hips and strong, muscular legs. Finding a harness that fits comfortably across my waist and legs is always a bit of a pain. This harness nails it. The waistband is wide but soft and fits comfortably over my hips without digging in, even when belaying my partner on his projects. It's low profile so it doesn't snag as much as my old harnesses and it has plenty of gear loops for all my stuff. It is pretty compact and folds up nicely in my bag when I don't need it and the colors are pretty rocking to boot! 10/10 would buy another one and would definitely recommend it to friends!

I have tried many different harnesses from many different brands in my time as a sport climber and I have yet to find a more comfortable or durable harness than the AR-385A Women’s Harness. I have put this harness through countless competitions, as well as indoor and outdoor projecting sessions and it has yet to show much wear. This product is not only effective and efficient, it is also well designed and very visually appealing with its flattering fit and vibrant colour. This durable, thin, lightweight, and adjustable harness provides a perfect fit and an extremely comfortable climbing experience.

Sizing is challenging!

My last harness was the previous generation Arcteryx with non-adjustable leg loops in a Men's Size Small. The Women's Size Small waistband was too tight for me, and the Women's Size Medium had excessively large leg loops. I was really happy with the Men's Small although I felt like the rise (the distance from the leg loops to the waist) was a little tight.
When the time came to buy a new harness they had the Women's Size Medium adjustable leg loops model in stock, but not a Men's Small, so I went with the Medium figuring that the adjustable leg loops would take care of my sizing issue.
Well! I'm conflicted about the sizing. The women's harness waistband rides VERY high compared to the Men's size Small. It feels weird to me although seems to function fine. The new models have very wide waist bands compared to the previous generation, which has resulted in the small of my back being sweaty. The adjustable leg loops DO NOT STAY TIGHT. The buckles loosen during use. This seems like a notable problem.
Overall I wish I had ordered a Men's Size Small with non-adjustable leg loops. Trying on harnesses is so important.

Packable. Light. Comfortable. Need I say more? I have had a collection of harnesses over the years and my absolute “musts” include adjustable leg loops and of course comfort. This has both. I’ve always had to have two harnesses, one for glacier travel and one for rock. Now I have one and it’s awesome. I’ve been using it for a year now and it’s comfortable to hang out when weighting the rope, for belaying, rappelling and even when moving across a glacier all day roped in. It’s so light you won’t even feel it – only all the gear hanging off of it. High fives Arc’teryx!

Comfortable, ice clipper position is good, waist larger than expected

Bought this harness about a month ago, and have some observations:
-So far harness has been comfortable when I take falls/ hang, but I haven't had any super long multi-pitch days.
-Front ice clipper positioning is great! Unlike many other harnesses, I can actually see my clippers!
-The waist belt fit larger than I expected. I have a 29.5 inch waist, so the size chart suggested a size medium. However,even with the waist belt of the medium cinched as tight as it could go, it was too loose, and would slide down my hips when weighted with a full trad rack. Size small was perfect for waist size.
-The leg loops on the other hand, fit a bit small-- my leg circumference is about 21.5'', and the size small is just too small, size medium is perfect.

I love this harness! It is truly a piece of art as well as a very functional harness. It is super light, new materials (at least for me) and a great fit. My body is quite curvy and therefore this harness with adjustable leg loops fits me perfectly, both with indoor and outdoor clothing. Couldn't be happier with it!
