Bring back the old design!

I wanted to love this just like I love the previous design. The loop of the strap is now tugged in, the strap does not follow the contour of the body as well now. Opening of main pocket is smaller, tough to put in and take out the passport, I missed having the divider at the back instead of front of the main compartment, who thinks it is a good idea?!? It makes more sense to keep something flat close to the body instead of in the middle of a pouch. Lastly, the main seam is a lot stiffer and the key strap in a hidden compartment of the main compartment is useless. A lousy re-design, period.

Love this bag. Perfect for storing all my essential day to day items (phone, airpods, wallet, car keys). Thoughtfully designed storage, but the only thing I’m not a huge fan of is the strap and buckle - I think it could be a little thicker and more robust. If that were changed, I would buy a new one and give it a 5 star review!

Bad re-design

Bought this pack to replace the one I’ve been wearing for a couple years. Unfortunately looks like looks like it has been redesigned. As a result, the main zipper lost a full inch in length (opening went from over 9 in to 8 in) and does not allow for easy access for standard size iPhone. The strap has also been redesigned and lost quarter of an inch in width so it’s flimsy. Returning it. Please reconsider this new design.

Nice bag, small but functional, has a spot for everything. My big disappointment is the cell phone slot, it is not deep enough, the phone can easily slip out, I almost lost my phone.

strap big problem

Rune color Mantis 1 from 8a dealer. Strap is very small (in wide) and really short(even on max), strap twists. 6'1 height and 110kg, i wear XL-2XL cormac shirt.
Also bag looks in reality small, not like in pictures....
So for this men's style and complexion no no... probably Mantis will be ok but guys arote also about short and narrow strap.
Now in Asia, couldn't return but need to.
Will resell. for 1.50-165cm woman with small body complexion will be ok...

agree but any color(black/rune/red/) will be problematic even with chemical filters(yellowing)....and America's mineral zn/ti will be each time problem. probably real waterproof polyester/nylon will be ok? or like navy color of mantis?

I've used the Mantis 1 waist pack for 4 years now. It's my every day bag that goes literally everywhere with me - work, play, leisure, errands. Whether it matches my outfit or not, it's going with me. Truly a perfect size for phone, credit cards, keys, sunglasses, chap stick, airpods. I've even washed the thing a few times with some dawn dish soap and it's pretty much as good as new. Love all the pockets, love that it holds it's structure, and love that the strap is adjustable & sturdy but not bulky. Not an expert opinion here, but I do think for it's size, it's better than small packs from lululemon, cotopaxi, north face. I've convinced like 5 friends to buy one of these because they see me carrying it around everywhere.

Love it! I’m a big guy but the strap still pretty long, easy to clean, durable and compact size! Comes in zipper and pocket that useful. Very secure. Recommended for who like to use small bag (belt bag, cross body bag etc.)

Essential for Travel

I’m not really a murse type of guy, but I needed a bag to carry my essentials while travelling in Thailand. After using the Mantis 1 for two weeks, I will never again travel without it. It’s sized just right. I often forgot I was carrying it. It can hold everything I need for a day of exploring. It has two main compartments and a handy zipped compartment within one of those. This ‘secret’ compartment is ideal for travel valuables…cash, driver’s license, passport, etc. The best feature is the phone sleeve in the back of the bag. It holds my iPhone securely, well hidden and easily accessible.
I never thought I’d be this excited about a murse!!

Hello! Cool bright Mantis 1 for the summer, I'm very happy! It fits all my EDs. I can recommend this product. Of the minuses, the back panel is quite easily torn. And everything is so great! Love arc'teryx!

I use this waist pack as a cross body pocket book. It’s perfect for those times when a large purse isn’t needed. I like the size and the different compartments (some zippered, some not). It’s just big enough to carry all my essentials. It’s well made and will no doubt last for years.

Very comfortable and great quality bag! I was worries about the bag being too small. I was able to put my iPhone 13 Pro Max, a tri fold wallet, a hand sanitizer spray and a lip balm in side.

Such a versatile little bag! I started wearing waist packs after a shoulder injury and struggled finding one that has the right size for my essentials while looking sharp and having an excellent quality. The Mantis 1 pack checks all those marks. The belt is thinner than other waist packs (which I love) but it's still sturdy. The depth of the pack doesn't look bulky (like other brands) but instead wonderfully sleek. I've bought one in an Arc'teryx store and then quickly purchased two more online. Love all the different color options, too. Great quality item!

I bought this pack a few months ago and it was really useful both while traveling and as an everyday bag! The separate pockets make it very easy to organize important items and the size of the bag is perfect for storing bulkier items as well. While traveling it was great that it could hold larger portable batteries for phones, phones, wallets, snack bars, keys, coins, etc. The zippers are very robust and zip very smoothly.
