Carrier 100 Duffle

I recently purchased the Arc'teryx Carrier 100 Duffle, expecting the high-end performance and durability that the brand is known for. However, after using it for a while, I have some serious concerns about the overall quality, especially when you consider the premium price tag. Arc'teryx has long been revered for crafting some of the best technical outdoor gear, but this pack seems to miss the mark. At its price point, I expected a level of craftsmanship that stands out, but instead, I found myself disappointed. The materials and overall build quality feel significantly lower than what I'd expect from a brand at this price level. One of the biggest issues for me is the straps. They’re thin, uncomfortable, and just not well thought out for a bag that’s meant to carry heavy loads. The lack of padding and proper ergonomics means that carrying this duffle for any length of time is a chore. It feels like Arc'teryx sacrificed functionality for appearance, and the straps are a clear example of this. When you compare them to similar bags from other brands, which are often priced lower, Arc'teryx falls short. This leads me to a larger concern: It seems like Arc'teryx is shifting away from being the technical, performance-driven brand it once was, and leaning more into the street fashion market. While the bag may look sleek and stylish, it lacks the ruggedness and practical design that used to define the brand. As an avid outdoors enthusiast, I find it hard to justify spending this much on a product that doesn't meet my expectations for quality and utility. In conclusion, while the Arc'teryx Carrier 100 Duffle might work for those seeking a fashionable bag for everyday use, I would not recommend it for anyone who needs a functional, durable, and high-quality pack. There are other brands at a lower price point offering superior design and craftsmanship, making this one a hard pass for me. Arc'teryx needs to return to its roots and focus on performance if it wants to maintain its reputation as a top-tier brand.

I've used the Carrier 100 duffle to lug large/ heavy loads of climbing gear, both locally and internationally. The duffle packs well, and the two padded straps carry well. The zippers are thick and robust; I didn't have any concerns when zipping together a VERY full bag. The fabric is also super durable, has been in rain, snow, and Sun, sat in puddles and packed on the back of horses and has kept the interior dry. My duffle has been loaded with 3 ropes, racks and a ton of other climbing/ camping gear, it handles the load effortlessly. The zippers are not waterproof but they have a large flap to keep them out of the elements. Highly recommended for a durable very large duffle!

Great duffle for almost every adventure. I've taken this bag on the plane and travel with it in my car for nomadic trips. This will fit my clothes for two different seasons or can be my carrier duffle for an entire traditional climbing and camping trip. One of the zipper pulls did come off, so I would think about redesigning the zipper pull to handle heavier loads.

I purchased four 100L bags for our family’s two-month climbing and surf trip this summer, which took us from Europe to Canada and then on to Australia. In the past, I’ve always traveled with rolling luggage, but I grew tired of the space they occupy when not in use and their added weight. This time, we packed these bags with all our camping, climbing gear, wetsuits, and everything else we needed for the trip. After two months of living out of these bags, I can confidently say they are the best travel bags I’ve ever owned. They’re incredibly durable—after a journey around the world by plane, being tied to a roof rack and driven across Australia, and dragged through campsites, they show almost no signs of wear and tear. I also appreciate the white interior, which brightens the inside and makes it easy to find what you're looking for. The zipper design works perfectly, even when the bags are fully packed. What surprised me the most was how well they function as backpacks. If you pack them thoughtfully—placing softer items against the back—they’re actually comfortable to carry. In short, these bags exceeded my expectations in every way.

Quality comfortable straps that unbuckle easy for access to the inside. Having its own packable/easy storage bag for in between trips and excursions is awesome!

I recently purchased the 75L version of this bag but I felt it would be a little tight on space for some of my adventures. Then I saw that the 100L **just added** to the AT web site and I bought it faster than you can say road trip. The bag arrived today and I'm happy to see that it has all of the same design features of the 75L, it's just bigger. This is the perfect size for me! I just filled it up with my ski and travel gear for a quick trip down to Mammoth Mountain. This bag easily handles all of my gear plus some room to spare. The shoulder straps or the side handles provide great options for hauling. Great job to the AT team for designing a tough duffle that will be with me for a looooong time!

These bags are super simple: durable, weatherproof, and ready to take a beating with all your gear inside. There's no frills, which I personally appreciate in a gear hauler. Just a big bag to throw between planes, trains, and automobiles. The 100 is a great size for gear-intensive trips. For example, I've packed it with tent, sleeping kit, technical tools, and layer for a trip to Mexico's Pico De Orizaba, and the week before used it for a ski mission to the Tetons, where I dragged it behind me on the approach to our hut when I forgot a sled! The bag looks brand new after a nice mile long snow drag.
