SPLITBOARD GUIDE

Studying photojournalism seemed like a good plan for the Rockies-raised snowboarder, until she realised that her crushing shyness wasn’t well-suited to a profession that demands you to walk up to complete strangers and ask to document their lives. After transitioning back to guiding (her original dream) and becoming the first female snowboarder to hold an Association of Canadian Mountain Guides qualification, Christine outgrew her shyness and found her place in the mountains, even though that meant enduring an endless stream of “helpful” advice suggesting she ditch the splitboard and just ski. For someone with the tenacity to stick to her guns, Christine is wonderfully generous-hearted and kind – people open up to her quickly and she’s able to make them feel taken care of in that vulnerable moment when they land in a strange new environment. She’s shredding proof that trailblazers don’t blow things up, they illuminate a path – something reinforced every time she hears clients say, “We don’t care what she’s on. We just love Christine.”

Achievements
