Go-to sun hoodie

This is my go-to sun hoodie. I have 4 different colours and wear them nearly every day for both work and personal use. The hood is great for protecting your neck from the sun while on snow or in the summer, and can provide a little extra warmth when it is cold or windy. A feature that I have on another sun hoodie that would be a great addition to the Taema is the watch screen hole, allowing you to check your watch while still having the thumb holes on. Overall, great product!

A summer staple

Sun hoodies are the only thing I wear outdoors in the summer. I like being outside, but I also like to hide from the sun. The Taema is the perfect lightweight layer. It dries quickly when wet (or sweaty). It also is UPF 40 rated, protecting from UV. The thumbhole situation is interesting. I’m not sure I like it. They tucked the loops into the sleeves. There’s not a dedicated hole in the sleeve. My thumbs randomly find them when moving around. It’s an interesting and cleverish design.

Love my Taema Hoody!

Bought my Taema Hoody to wear as a sun shirt for our hike up Kilimanjaro a few months ago. The fit is true to size - for reference, I'm 5'4", 120-125 pounds, petite build, and the size S was a comfortable, close fit without being too tight. It served its purpose of helping me stay warm during the chilly early mornings in Tanzania (the hood and face cover are great), and then offering protection from the sun and allowing my skin to breathe once the temperature got warmer as the day progressed. Very happy with this purchase - highly recommend.

Please just give women real thumbholes

I mostly use this for trail running, and I absolutely love the fabric. But one thing I cannot stand is the thin strip of fabric sewn at the wrist pretending to be a thumbhole. The men’s version of this shirt has an integrated hole for a thumb that doesn’t feel like a hasty addition. The tiny little strap cuts into my hand and is yet another reminder of pervasive gender inequality remains in the outdoor apparel. There’s absolutely no reason my dainty little lady hands should have to suffer like this.

The best trail running shirt!

This is my absolute favourite trail running shirt. Perfect as a sun shield for exposed alpine runs (not too hot), yet somehow warm enough for all but the coldest days on the PNW. Dries quickly, does not get weighted down when wet, and the hood is great for extra protection when on glaciers or snow. Hands down my go to shirt all year long!

Perfect Versatile Layer

I own three Taema hoodies and still feel like I need more! This piece is incredibly versatile—perfect as a sun shirt or light layer in the summer and my go-to base layer for ski touring. The hood is just the right size, staying securely in place, and the material is the perfect balance between breathability and warmth. If I had to choose a favourite layer, this would be it!

the perfect sun hoodie

really great sun hoodie. intelligent design as expected from arcteryx. i used this for backpacking in the sierras and for many hikes, and it provided me with excellent sun protection all over. it's cute and fits well to the woman frame. the hood has no drawstring but fits well over the head regardless. i like that the sleeves have little thumb loops instead of a hole in the sleeve for the thumbs to pop out, this makes it easier for mobility of the hand i think? i got this in light pink just in case i get it dirty, but yeah it washes very easily. i wore it on a really hot day and it was ventilated well but still protected me from sunburn. i got this after trying another top brand and returned the other one and got this one. it may be expensive but your skin care is worth it!
