This is a pretty simple but high functioning piece, allowing you to move at medium to high output from spring to fall while keeping your skin safe from the sun. The hood frames the face well and fits neatly over a hat or under a helmet, while the thumb loops ensure you can prevent back of hand burns while traveling over snow and at altitude. It is a synthetic fabric, so while it's great at the intended functions, it doesn't naturally keep smells away like Merino, something to consider for expedition use when it won't get a lot of washes.

Good but

Unfortunately, I haven’t had much luck with this Cormac Hoody! While the fabric feels nice on the outside, the inside is, to put it mildly, terrible. I tried wearing it several times, but in the long run, it’s simply unbearable. The previous version of the Cormac was significantly better! The Remige Hoody, on the other hand, was unbeatable in terms of comfort. Unfortunately, I can’t say the same about this one. Anyone with sensitive skin or a preference for soft fabrics might also be disappointed. That being said, everything else about this Hoody is well made.

Great Hoody

I love these shirts. They keep me from overheating on warm ski days here in Arizona. They are light and very comfortable. I recommend it as a first layer under any fleece. I also love the hoody because I don't wear ear pads in my ski helmet. It protects my ears from getting sunburned.

Bring back the long sleeves!

I own several of the Cormac Hoody and L/S. Collectively, they are among my favorite pieces of kit. However, what I first thought was a mistake in manufacturing (inconsistency in patterns) seems to be a change to the product line: shorter sleeves. Bring back the long sleeves! My most recent purchases are all shorter in the sleeves by 1-2".
The thumb loops are useless when the sleeves are short. Additionally, this is a great base layer and that functionality is also limited when it keeps riding up under the sleeves of other layers.

Perfect shirt with one flaw/bad feature.

Perfect shirt/hoodie if it weren't for the thumb loops. I don't like to use thumb loops and this makes the arms too long for me. Wouldn't be an issue if the cuffs tapered, but they are too wide and just hang past my hands.
Fit is perfect otherwise. If you use and like thumb loops...go for it!

Overall fit is comfortable. I got a medium, 6’1” and find the arm length good but the thumb sleeve won’t work with that arm length for me.

I love this sun hoodie! I wear it skiing, hiking, mtb, on location photoshoots, yard work, ect: if you are outside in any sun this is a must have. Its wonderful as a base layer for cold days or your shirt for the hot day. ALSO IT DREIS SOOOOO FAST.
This will keep you from getting absolutely cooked by the sun, if your like me and spend as much time as you can outside, your skin will thank you for this purchase. My go to is the lime green colorway from a few seasons ago, but I have started buying white and dyeing them myself. My only complaint is WE NEED BETER COLORS! Also built in thumb loops are clutch. Toss this on, throw your favorite t-shirt on over and now your swaged up and sun protected. In the winter I run my base layer under the Cormac and build from there.
