Favorite summer hiking pants!

These pants are very well made and styled, comfortable with just enough stretch but not so much that they become baggy. I was them in cold water on gentle cycle and allow them to air dry. After many washes, they look like new. I am 5’ 71/2”, 125 lbs, 28” waist and 34” hips. I purchased 2 pairs in size 4 and they are quite fitted in the waist, but very comfortable and appear like a made to order fit. I wanted the option of a bit more flexibility in the waist so I ordered another pair in size 6. I appreciate the extra waist allowance, but the fit appears a bit loose with extra space especially through the hips. The little tab that allows for slight adjustment in waist fit is much appreciated…I will enjoy all three pairs. The difference in size isn’t tremendous and allows for one to select a trim fit, or opt for a bit more flexibility.

Great, super-light material for hot days of hiking

Lightweight fabric is great for hot days of hiking and has stretch and breathability!! A few quibbles on the design. The fit is slim, so the zipped pocket by the thigh is not useful for cell phone or anything beyond a tissue, especially if you have muscular thighs. Articulation at the knees enables the slim fit, but if you're petite or have short legs, the articulation doesn't match up to the knees (BTW. 10S sizes in most Arcteryx women's pants always seem to be sold out). A regular fit in this great fabric would be so much better, IMHO.

Great light hiking pants for Spring and Summer

I recently picked up a pair of the Gamma SL pant, I had eyed these for a while and quite liked the slim fit look. I already own the tapered (love the tapered look) which I have worn through all the seasons and decided to get these in Black to bring into my collection. I really like them!
They're slim fit, incredibly comfortable (forgot your wearing pants type of comfort) and soft.
I got a size 6R (reference I am 5ft7 and usually go between a 4 and 6), the 6 fit perfectly, I don't think I would fit in a 4 tbh so for those on the fence I might suggest sizing up.
Wore them hiking, no noticeable movement sound from the fabric material, haven't used the pockets (the slimmer fit means I'd probably just keep spare tissues). They held up well to dog claws and even a bite from a overexcited pup so durability wise I have no concerns.
These will definitely be in my spring and Summer hike rotation, but with slimmer fit I'd probably not wear in colder months due to layering thermals which i think would be too restrictive.

Bouton pression

Ce serait un gros zéro. Le bouton pression se détache lorsqu'on s'accroupît. Pour un pantalon de ce prix on s'attend qu'il reste fermé quand on bouge. Je suis allée à une boutique Arcterix pour savoir si on peut remplacer le bouton par un autre plus efficace. Tout ce qu'on m'offre c'est le remplacement par le même item avec le même problème. Pas fort.....

Oh Snap!

I'll start with what is great -- the cut from the waist to the knees is very nice and comfy, and the fabric feels great with just enough stretch, water resistance, and comfort.
The bummer is the snap situation. The shallow snap failing is just such a weird problem and design issue. Maybe part of the problem is that the belt doesn't wrap the entire way around and can sort of weirdly tension the fly? If the belt actually still had the hook or some sort of buckle this could also be dealt with. Just not a good closure situation on these pants.
Would also love to see these pants less tapered so that they can be rolled up. I use alot of my pants in for 3 seasons, and for multiday adventures, and I appreciate the ability to roll my pants to my knees for creek crossings, putting on high, thick socks at night, etc. I can't even get these above my calves, and my calves aren't huge.
I am returning this year's model, hoping that at the very least the snap situation will be remedied so that I can get a pair in the future.
