Ski Guide Pant Men's

I've been wearing Arc'teryx for a long time and have been so frustrated trying to find a pair of snow pants. Tried the Guide Bibs and the Guide Pro Pant in multiple sizes. Everything fits so small. I am short, and wear 34" pants for the most part. I fit perfectly into North Face Large pants, maybe even with room to spare, but with Arc'teryx nowadays I can't even do up the button on the Large pants. I'm not that fat, I am extremely active in the mountains, ex patroller, firefighter etc. But according to Arc'teryx, I'm not convinced I'd fit the XL's either, and after two returns I won't even try. They also don't make them in a short version, so I'd be swimming in length.

I have had these pants for less than a year and already have 2 big tears on them. I used them for roughly 15 days

Review: I bought these pants a month ago, but after only three uses, the zipper broke. This happened during a rescue operation where reliable clothing is crucial. It created an uncomfortable and potentially dangerous situation for me. I expected better quality from a product meant to withstand tough conditions.

The ski guide pants circa 2016-2017 were the best ski pants I’ve ever owned. The fit was perfect, they were light, durable, and allowed excellent range of motion. And the pockets, oh the pockets! There were two thigh pockets, two front hip pockets, and maybe a single butt pocket. The thigh pockets were perfect for a beacon on one side and a field book and phone on the other. The hip pockets were great for smaller personal items. Please, please bring back this generation of pants, I would never buy anything else, ever again.

I purchased these for bakcountry skiing and was quite satisfied with the design. Durable goretex, with reinforcement near the cuffs and padding at the knees exactly where you want them. Big roomy cargo pockets that zip up and include an attachment point for your transciever lanyard, large size zips, and a low profile but effective drawcord for tightening the waist. I am 6'4 and quite lean and found that the tall version of these pants fit me perfectly, without being too loose at the waist or too short in the inseam like so many other ski pants. No slash pockets mean these pants are comfortable to wear with harnesses, although I do sometimes miss having a pocket just for my phone.

Excellent piece of gear! Aside from being super comfortable for touring on multi day trips I have also climbed moderate ice multi pitches in them, the freedom of movement makes them a great multi sport winter piece

I bought those pants for ski guiding in Canada. Pros: The fit is really good. Great mobility in the knees and the crotch (which is my biggest gripe with other Arcteryx pants). The knee pads are key when kneeling on hard surfaces. The waist adjustment (draw string) works well but tends to loosen over a day of use. Cons: The drawcord cuff mechanism that cinches around your ski boot doesn't work at all. No matter how tight you cinch it, snow will find its way into your boot. It's especially problematic when setting a bootpack or digging a profile in deep snow. I would recommend going back to a simple elastic cuff like all the other ski pants ever made since humanity started skiing. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

Great for patrolling. Good protection. I was using Beta LT pants which got cut up at the heels. The extra protection of the ski guide pant on the medial calf down section was a good design. I keep my PPE gloves and cravats in pockets and work well for quick access and is what I usually need asap on scene. RECCO is a plus, no complains about the location. I use the side zips to regular air flow. The thicker gore-tex definitely adds a level of heat protection compared to the paclite, so I have had to be a bit more mindful in choosing my base layer. The 3/4 hybrid in 20F and the 3/4 insulated rho has served me well in <10F when paired with these pants. No mid layer needed. The fit is articulated well. I am a medium in all other bottoms but my bottom shells have always been a size smaller for some reason. I reluctantly bought these a second choice - was waiting for the ski guide bib to restock, but that has been a pipe dream as they have not restocked for 2 years. I wear a 31x30 and if a SS (small short) as available for this pant I would have bought that, quite baggy at the bottom. For this reason I have sought a pair of bibs but have yet to find one that fits with the small bib eyelets that come with these pants. A discontinued LEAF bib with 3 clips looks to be promising but has been hard to find. It would be wise and relatively simple for Arc'teryx to develop a Y shaped suspender, heck I could make one myself if they could give me the elastic straps and hooks!
