Easily my Favourite Arc’teryx Piece

I got my Squamish Hoody a few months ago, and it has quickly become my favourite Arc’teryx piece. I use it for a wide range of activities, from hiking and mountain biking to casual wear around town and even as a jacket for going to the gym. This hoody is extremely light yet provides adequate wind protection. The lightweight yet cozy design means it’s suitable for a range of temperatures and activities. When mountain biking, it’s easy to pack into my hip pack since it compresses down to a small size. However, the thin and breathable material means it may not be warm enough on its own for very cold days, so layering with a warmer midlayer is probably a good idea in frigid temperatures. I honestly have no complaints about this piece. The Squamish Hoody is versatile, comfortable, and highly packable, making it a staple in my wardrobe for travel and adventures. My only note, as mentioned earlier, is the thin material may not provide enough insulation for very cold weather, so wear additional layers on chilly days! Overall, the Squamish Hoody is a fantastic do-everything jacket that I highly recommend for a range of outdoor recreation and casual use. This jacket will remain a favourite in my wardrobe for years to come.
Q: Pros:

Minimalistic, compact and great fit

Coming from Denmark and the cold climate in the Nordics I own several Arc'teryx products... I saw the squamish hoody and was like "I need that". Honestly it will probably be my go to jacket in the warmer months of the year and serve as easy to pack jacket, if going somewhere. It should take a few raindrops, but other than that don't expect it to hold out the wet elements. Packs nicely into it's own chestpocket, very nice and simple product. I would wish they made a similar version with Gore-Tex ShakeDry layer on the outside, similar to the GoreWear R7 jackets.
Q: Pros:
A: Lightweight, packable, simple
Q: Cons:
A: Durability, water repellent
Q: Activity
A: Running, everyday, hiking

Yes, I recommend this product.

Not very durable

I bought this 6 months ago. It’s lost it’s shape (gone baggy), got a few holes in it and the plastic frame of the hood made a hole of its own and fell out (I can’t get it back in). It’s very lightweight and does a good job but it’s not worth the money imo!

Great fit but not worth 130 pounds

Nice item was dithering about deciding if should keep it or not but decided to return the item. It's good but not 130 pounds good. It's probably double the price point it needs to be. When I compare it to my Atom LT for not much more there is no comparison.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Hi there, Thank you for reaching out to Arc'teryx with your feedback on the Squamish Hoody. We're sorry to hear about the issues you have encountered with your windshell jacket. Your comments are appreciated and crucial to ensuring we are designing equipment that meets the needs and expectations of our wearers. The Squamish Hoody offers wind and mild weather protection and features a DWR treatment to the face fabric. With that said, you may fill out a Product Service Request Form to see where our Product Service Team can help further: https://arcteryx.com/us/en/help/product-service/service-request If you have any additional comments or concerns, please feel free to contact our Customer Service Line, and one of our representatives would be glad to chat with you. Better than all the rest

I have had this current model of Squamish for over a year at this point and am definetely not disappointed with the made changes. The fit is really comfortable while allowing light layers. I've mainly used this in conjunction with proton fl jacket which creates a very versatile combination. The earlier version (before 2018) was perhaps slightly more breathable as I used it also for trail running. I gifted my earlier squamish to my friend who uses it for variety of activities and the jacket still does not show any signs of wear and tear. I am expecting this newer version to last even longer due to at least seemingly strudier fabric.
Q: Pros:
A: Lightweight, packable, versatility
Q: Cons:
A: Incendo line is better for running
Q: Activity
A: Hiking, mountaineering etc.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Too Small, Too Thin

I bought this product about a month ago. I sized up to XL for an oversized fit but the product came in and fits like an L. All my friends commented that it’s made of some of the thinnest material they’ve ever seen. It feels like the same material used for tents and bevy’s. Spending a $150 dollars on a jacket and getting comments about it looking cheap is not fun. I guess I’ll spend $400 so I don’t get bad quality again!
Q: Pros:
A: Cool brand
Q: Cons:
A: Too small, thin material
Q: Activity
A: Hiking, backpacking, canoeing

No, I do not recommend this product.

Good but can be better!

I'm 178cm 74kg, tried size medium and large and finally bought a large size. Everything is good and fit perfectly except for chest, it's too tight in the chest and armhole. Even size large is too long in length but I feel comfortable in chest. Moreover, hopefully there would be extra pockets on side.

Yes, I recommend this product.

However I loved the Jacket so much I am keeping the XS for light layering in spring summer and the Small for winter/fall for heavy layering - The length and overall fit was perfect … I am 1101bs and 5ft 2” - AND I decided to order another XS in vitality … I run/bike commute everywhere so this will be essential for me :) … Thank You!!!

A MUST for high output activities!

Okay seriously, I've owned many comparable pieces of kit over the years but NONE has come close to how great the Squamish Hood is! I originally bought this as an alternative to my Patagonia Houdini jacket that I loved (but didn't breathe). My complaint with the Houdini is/was that after any high output activities, I would be soaking wet underneath. This is where the Squamish Hoody really shines. Not only is it super wind resistant, it is highly breathable. I no longer get wet and cold after a long run. I am so glad I've added the Squamish hoody to my arsenal. It is now my "go to" mountain running jacket.
Q: Pros:
A: Highly breathable, wind resistant
Q: Cons:
A: None
Q: Activity
A: Trail running

Middling

It’s a decent windbreaker. The previous version had better breathability and the shoulders are a bit narrow on this revision for someone with broad shoulders/ back. The proton FL, LT, and Atom LT and AR fit my shoulders all in large but this doesn’t. Kinda strange. If I size up then the torso is super bulky. Widen the shoulders a bit and add some underarm ventilation and then the jacket would be great.
Q: Pros:
A: Durable
Q: Cons:
A: Breathability and narrow shoulders
Q: Activity
A: Hiking

Yes, I recommend this product.

Well, I just returned a Zeta SL due to size issue and bought a Squamish at your Outlet Site. I ordered the Ladon color so it will match the color Of my Konseal shoes, but I think I received a Labyrinth color, it say Ladon on the tag but I don’t think so. Very disappointed for the second time. But, I will keep it. Should have stick with my thoughts of not buying from the Outlet site. Still love Arc’teryx tho!
