Atom Jacke Herren

A jacket that is the first I reach for almost all year long, it fits well, is snug and stylish, has the pockets you want for in town or country and looks good.

Owned the Atom lt for a couple months now and it has proved to be very reliable in keeping me warm underneath my Beta lt hybrid shell. I love how soft it is, it is easy to forget that you are wearing it because it is so comfortable. I like how it has some stretch, and that the zippers are easy to pull up and down with one hand. It fits into my layering system quite well. The only con really is that it is relatively expensive, but it is well worth the dollars if you use it as intended. I have not used it in very harsh conditions yet so I cannot comment on that.

This jacket packs up so small and can be stuffed into any pack that it's always worth brining along for added warmth when out on the trial. It is surprisingly warm for it's weight and is a perfect spring/fall layer under any Arcteryx shell jacket. Certainly a must have Arcteryx piece in any collection.

Great jacket. Best jacket i have owned. Looks and feels nice. Love the lined pockets. I wish the dead bird label was stitched on. The reflective printed on label looks cheap and now and then i check to see if its peeling yet lol

I have an Atom AR Hoody but I find the hood a pain under my Sabre Shell for Skiing. So I went for the Atom LT without a hood. The jacket is great for round the house on a cold day or as a lightweight jacket on a late spring or early autumn walk.

Love this insulating layer. I wear it on my 13 mile bike commute. I couple it with the Beta AR shell, and it's fine for cool to cold weather.

I have an Atom LT vest and I love it. I'm 55, 6'4" and 190 lbs and the Large fits perfectly. Naturally, I had hoped the Atom LT jacket would work as well. Idaho has cold winters, but also many in-between days in the spring and fall when a lighter jacket is needed. Unfortunately, I found the Large too short in the sleeves and too short in front at the waist. I ordered an XL and found it too big in the torso. I was very disappointed, as generally I've found Arc'teryx products to fit my tall, slim body well. It would have made the perfect light jacket. I'm still looking for an alternative that is as light and good-looking but longer in the sleeves and in the front. I've found some very high-end Arc'teryx jackets that look like they might work for a tall, thin guy, but they're out of my price range.

So I bought this thing based on some of the reviews, and thought it make might a good light jacket or mid layer. Out of all the items I got, it was the one I really wasn't sure I would use that much, or that I needed. Turns out, it's my favourite item. It's so light, water resistant, warm, comfortable and nice looking (like black goes with everything) so now I use it as my main jacket for going out at night, shopping, hiking, doing stuff in the yard and everything in between. So I'm getting my money's worth, big time.

I recently decided to get a new Atom LT in a size-up to replace my old one. My old one was excellent, loved the athletic fit, was a great insulating piece and very sleek and stylish to wear on its own. It was super well made and I got compliments on it all the time. It was also surprisingly durable given how light and pliable the fabric feels. My new Atom LT, however, doesn't reach the same level of quality. It arrived with these creases in the fabric that don't seem to want to flatten out. The fabric seems to be pieced together imprecisely, so that there are these ripples in the fabric along the front zipper. The cuff bands are also slightly asymmetric. If I had bought this for $60 purely for layering underneath something else, it wouldn't be as frustrating. But paying nearly $300 for a light jacket, I expected more. I liked wearing Arc'teryx for the fact that it's a Canadian brand and is known for its quality, but my latest experience signals that might be slipping.

I like the Atom line so much as i'm collecting jackets and vests: need more to say?

This is a lightweight, do all jacket that is versatile in all but the most extreme conditions. Whether its 30* and you're walking to work or 65* on a cool night, this base layer jacket is all you need. I bring along whenever I travel, packs tight and perfect. Can't go wrong.

Firstly, a bit of context - I bought a Gamma Lt softshell in January 2016 and it is bombproof - it has been through everything. I was recently disappointed to find out that a new subsequent version has replaced the 'burly weave' fabric which made that model so durable. This raised my suspicions of Arcteryx's latest levels of quality and durability. Nonetheless, I needed a new warm mid-layer insulated jacket and have long heard good things about the Atom Lt jacket, so I decided to buy it. Upon receiving the jacket I was shocked by how cheap and flimsy it felt, furthermore the zip was sticking/jumping at various points when being zipped or unzipped. I wore the jacket out to work with my heavy backpack, and later on that night I noticed that the backpack had caused abrasion marks over the shoulders. That was the final straw...I sent the jacket back for a refund. Quite simply, this jacket is garbage..I have my two old model Arcteryx Gamma Lt jackets, but will never buy another new piece of Arcteryx gear...it's such a shame when good companies start cutting corners and the quality of their products declines.

Great jacket, but over time -- the fabric is starting to peel and the logo came off. I followed the washing directions, but it's not holding up quite as well as I would like. It's still functional though.

This is a lightweight, versatile jacket that I bring along whenever I travel. It is highly breathable. It packs small as well. I love it! This is a great jacket from 35F to 70F, with base layer to no base layer. If it is windy or rainy outside, I wear a hardshell to get windproof as well. The cons: This is not windproof. If it is cold out and you stop hiking or in a ski lift, you will get cold within 5 minutes. I do not wear it as an outershell when I snowboard because I can damage the fabric. Anyway, you sacrifice windproof, waterproof for a lightweight, breathable, packable jacket.

I bought this jacket after watching a review on Trekkit's you tube channel, where they said that everyone in their office had at least one of these jackets! Now I see why. Very light and quite thin, but surprisingly warm. Used as an outer layer when skiing down to -10 with only a long sleeve base layer and a thin fleece underneath. It's very effective even though it's very thin. I tend to overheat when exercising and this jacket has a huge temperature range when used with the appropriate mid/base layers. I've yet to use the jacket itself as a mid layer, but if I'm out in the cold and not exercising, it will be my go to clothing under my waterproof shell. Water resistance on the Atom is great, with water beading off, not soaking in. I've yet to wash the jacket though... I bought the non-hooded version so it would be comfortable under a waterproof shell, but for some reason, there is no hem cord unlike the hooded version. Not sure why. This is the only thing that I would change about the jacket. I'm 5' 10" and stocky, so I went for the XL. There's plenty of room for layers underneath for me and a bit of extra space around the waistline, but the shoulders and neck all fit me well and do not ruck up underneath a rucksack.

I stand at 6'4.5" with an average build for my height. I ordered the Atom LT in Medium and Large, and struggled to find either sleeve length reach my wrist, resulting in me unfortunately returning both the jackets. I understand I could have opted for an XL - resulting in longer sleeve lengths - however with no adjustable hem drawcord, would have found myself drowning at the waist - essentially defeating the object of keeping warmth in. Therefore I find myself writing this review more out of intrigue to Arc'teryx, as opposed to a helpful description of usage (sorry readers). Having looked through the website, over time I have began to notice various jackets being revised, so wanted to aim this review at Arc'teryx themselves, asking if there was anything in the pipeline in the near future - during 2018 - to revise the Atom LT range at all? The jacket in it's purest form is exceptional, and to be honest is near perfection as it is, however feel the removal of the hem drawcord was unnecessary. The hoody and jacket already stand separated by the hood, and feel that the removal of the hood is enough to separate the two, without also removing one of the jackets already limited, and crucial features. One last note on the sizing too... I am a loyal customer of Arc'teryx and have been for many years - using my Beta LT nearly every day. Therefore this has given me the chance to see the progression of jackets that have been released. However the sizing - especially jackets, specifically sleeve lengths - is something that I feel still lacks in being deemed acceptable. There is a huge majority of people that now stand above the average height - with 6'4" not being a particularly unusual size anymore - and being a brand that is always ahead of the curve, feel as though you need to design in advanced for taller requirements in the future, rather than doing "just enough" to deem acceptable at this moment in time. It is much easier for smaller/average builds to deal with/make use of excess material, easier than taller builds trying to deal with material that isn't there to begin with. Arc'teryx is not alone in this, but being such a reputable forward thinking market leader, feel as though you should be the people who are making the first move on the situation. Being a designer myself I understand product testing/limitations etc, however feel as though with Arc'teryx customers already willing to pay a premium for the gear in the first place, by using more material and catering for taller builds in a much more majority role of jacket options - as opposed to some jackets just having a "slightly longer back" - that although more material will be used at an expense p/jkt, you will be subjecting yourselves to a much wider clientele, and separating yourselves from other brands, therefore balancing it out. This is something that no-brand seems to be really committing fully to yet, in the outdoor sector. A definite gap in the market. (Anyway, sorry for waffling. It's just because I really wanted to purchase this jacket and for it to fit, I think... haha) I hope I have made some useful points, and at the very least though, I look forward to hearing about any potential plans or revisions that may be in the pipe line, and welcome any further questions or feedback that I may be able to help with. I think with a few minor changes, this could become even more of a favourite in the Arc'teryx range!

I love this jacket. I had the hooded version already but the jacket is perfect for layering under a hooded Gore-tex jacket.

I love since I got it (5 years ago). It was expensive, but better than everything else around. Used for sailing, mountaineering, climbing, trekking and around the city. Lightweight, super professional midlayer jacket with two minor issues. First is the lack of waistcords, so it is not adjustable, second is the fleece sidepanels in case of static activity, like waiting or fishing.

5'9 190lbs muscular got a Large, fits perfect with or without layers.

I picked up an Atom LT earlier this fall, and so far, it's been my go-to jacket. From the low 60s to high 30s, it modulates your temperature impressively well. Going from class to class, I've been caught in light-mid showers, and the Atom's DWR has held up impressively. I thought that it would only last for a few minutes, but it kept me dry and warm through twenty minutes of moderate rain. For fit, it's great! I'm 5'9 and 130lb, and a Small fit prefectly, with even a little bit of room for a baselayer, so looking forward to trying it out this winter on the slopes.

The jacket is very light and not bulky. It is warm. I own 2 of these jackets.

I'm a Professional Photographer, and value my comfort when working. The Atom lt allows me to just get on with my job without getting in the way. With a rather limiting (for many manufacturers) body shape, 6'1, 225lbs, 48" chest and 35" waist I am very broad. This often results in huge waist area on garments to be able to fit my shoulders/chest. The Atom lt in XL not only fits me perfectly, it looks stylish also (i.e. not a tent). It weighs nothing! It's akin to putting on a t-shirt in weight. But the most amazing thing, you don't want to take it off. It's like being encased in your most comfortable duvet/bed, just the right temperature and comfort, simply amazing. Being Arcteryx the quality and materials are top notch. The cuff design is genius and the fit/finish just great. I don't think I could ever be without an Atom lt, it's great as a mid layer, solo for around town, and in certain colours even smart enough for more corporate work situations. A must have piece in my mind.

I am 188 cm/95 kg - large fits me perfectly. I had an LT hoody before, but after I bought it my son kept on "borrowing" it so I decided to just let him keep it (he wears it all the time). I liked that jacket very much, but because I don't care much for the hood I purchased an LT jacket with no hood. It may be my personal preference, but one thing is missing - hem drawcord (hooded Atom LTs have it, but jackets with no hood don't). Otherwise, I love the jacket and will now have to buy one for my other son before the new one is gone...
