Maybe the best piece Arc’teryx makes

First off, the material of the jacket is very nice. The face fabric is a bit more abrasion resistant than my trusty atom LT. It also sheds wind better. The insulation is very light, making this a good active piece. This jacket is not very warm. If you intend to just stand around in it, you should consider another piece with more insulation or plan layers accordingly. The fit is as expected. Im 5’8 average building and chose medium. This results in a boxy fit but im fine with it as it lets me layer under it.

THE solution

Wow! It breathes extremely well! It dries amazingly fast! It is just windproof enough to keep me cool and dry when skinning up on days around -10 or colder. You just have to pick the right baselayer. Hot enough to ski down. It’s a if it is adapting to your right body temperature. I am really amazed by the practitioner! Must have!

Solid garment

Fit is good and it is well thought out. Due to the fact that it is pile lined it’s not particularly easy to drag over undergarments especially when damp. But otherwise good

Feels like a staple piece

Have been wearing this almost non stop since receiving it. I am 6’ 187lb fit and I purchased a large. Fits me as I would want. Just enough insulation to feel like I actually have some weight to it but also would be perfect for an early morning summer jacket.

Great mid layer

I’m a ski patroller in Vail, Colorado and this is the best mid layer I’ve ever had. It’s perfect, warm, light, cozy all of the great things. I ski in this jacket almost every day!

Great for the summer and early fall but if you want this coat for cold weather I would recommend the proton heavy weight hoodie instead
