Question 3

does the light pink stain easily

Helio, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi there, thank you for your question. As a general rule, lighter colours tend to show dirt, marks, and stains more easily than darker colours. The Atom Hoody's face fabric is designed to be durable and moisture-resistant, which can help prevent light dirt and moisture from immediately soaking in, but lighter colours may still make everyday wear marks or spots more noticeable compared to darker colours. Regular care and spot cleaning will help keep it looking its best: https://arcteryx.com/us/en/help/product-care

Question 6

I’m going to Rome and there is rain in the forecast, would this jacket be recommended or something more water repellent?

Helio, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi there, great question! The Atom Hoody is an insulated midlayer that works well for cool or mild conditions, making it a comfortable option for travel and everyday wear in places like Rome. It does feature an FC0 DWR (Durable Water Repellent) finish, which helps shed light moisture, but it is not waterproof and isn’t designed for sustained or heavier rain. If you'll be spending time in the rain, we recommend pairing the Atom Hoody with a GORE-TEX jacket or simply opting for one to ensure you stay fully dry. Question 7

Does the fabric pill with use? And is it necessary to size up if one wants to layer a woollen jumper underneath?

Helio, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi Anna, thank you for reaching out! The Atom Hoody is built with a lightweight nylon ripstop outer material that’s chosen for its durability and abrasion resistance. While pilling isn’t typical of this fabric, like most lightweight technical materials, it may develop some wear over time, particularly in high-friction areas (e.g., where a pack rubs against it). Caring for the jacket according to the care instructions and minimizing sustained friction can help maintain the fabric’s appearance over time. Please feel free to check out our product care page for more information on caring for your jacket: https://arcteryx.com/us/en/help/product-care. As far as sizing goes, the Atom Hoody has a fitted design, meaning it’s cut to sit close to the body for efficient warmth and easy layering under a shell. If you’re planning to wear a bulkier layer like a wool sweater underneath, sizing up can be a good option for added comfort and mobility. We’d also recommend comparing your measurements to our sizing chart to find the best fit for how you plan to use it. We hope this helps!

Question 8

Hi, could you tell me the size that this jacket packs down to, please?

Seymour, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi Lisa, thanks for reaching out. The Atom Hoody is lightweight and can be packed into its own hood. The packed size can vary depending on how tightly it is compressed, but it is generally compact enough to fit easily into a day pack or travel bag. We hope this helps!

Question 9

Is this jacket water proof for rainy days?

Seymour, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi there, thanks for reaching out. The Atom Hoody is a synthetically insulated jacket and is designed for warmth, but it is not waterproof. It does offer some water resistance thanks to its outer fabric and DWR coating, so it can handle light moisture or snow, but it isn’t intended for sustained rain or wet conditions. We hope this helps!

Question 10

does it run true to size

Helio, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi there, thank you for your question! Yes, the Atom Hoody Women's fits true to size; however, it features a fitted fit, which is designed to stay close to the body through the chest and waist. Its low profile eliminates bulk, moves with the body, and fits comfortably under outer layers. To find the best size, we recommend comparing your body measurements to our sizing chart.
