I am a big fan of these shoes, this is my second pair. My first pair has unfortunately started to show some abrasion wear and tear, so after two years of wearing them I decided I wanted a new pair. I am a satisfied customer and love the fit, comfort, GoreTex waterproof protection and the design aesthetics.

Great Comfort but NOT Waterproof

A comfortable and very durable outdoor shoe (5 stars). DEFINITELY NOT WATERPROOF (0 stars). This shoe exhibited some slight water resistance initially, but is not waterproof at all. My definition of waterproof is that I can walk in the rain for 2 hours and my feet/socks will not get wet at all. This is not the case with this shoe. In fact, just walking in wet grass gets your feet wet. Don't even think about stepping in a puddle or you'll get completely soaked feet. I'm not sure why shoe/apparel makers keep using Gore-Tex and marketing it as waterproof as it is NOT WATERPROOF. I own 2 Pais of these shoes because of the comfort/durability and neither are waterproof.

GORE-TEX footwear technology is designed to provide water resistance by repelling moisture and allowing breathability, but it does have limitations. While it helps bead off water, it is not intended to keep feet dry if fully submerged or exposed to extended wet conditions such as walking through puddles or soaking rain. Der perfekte Allrounder!

Der Norvan 4 GTX ist mein perfekter Schuh wenn ich das Terrain nicht genau kenne und nicht weis was auf den Trails auf mich zukommt. Technische Passagen im Fels, schnelle Gravel-Roads, nasse Downhills - er funktioniert überall ohne Probleme und ist nicht spezifisch für bestimmtes Terrain. Duch die Gore-Tex Membran ist er noch etwas stabiler und bietet gerade in der Übergangszeit oder im Winter ein angenehmes Fußklima.

They look slick while providing tons of grip

After running in these trail shoes for a couple of months, I can say they really suit my lifestyle. They're perfect on everything from tarmac to trail, excellent off-road, providing the support and performance I need on all surfaces. Plus, they're surprisingly fashionable... at least before they're covered in mud! 😂

Der absolute Allrounder

Wenn ich eine Reise mache, dann niemals ohne den LD4! Er ist mein absoluter Allround-Schuh, und ich nutze ihn in 80% meiner Trainingsläufe. Hier sind einige meiner Lieblings-features: - Er sieht stylisch aus, lässt sich also auch in der Stadt oder auf Reisen tragen - Er funktioniert super auf einer großen Bandbreite von Trails. Wenn ich also nicht weiß, was mich erwartet (Fels, Matsch, Gras, enge Singletrails oder Schotterweg), dann wähle ich den LD4 - Die Passform ist im Vergleich zum Vorgänger deutlich verbessert. Er sitzt wie eine zweite Haut oder Socke, nichts rutscht oder verleiht dem Fuß ein Gefühl der Instabilität - Die Vibramsohle greift verlässlich auf einer Vielzahl an Untergründen, egal ob Fels, Schotter, Matsch oder Schnee - Durch den Aufbau hat der Schuh ein tolles Abrollverhalten, was ihn besonders auf längeren, leichteren Strecken sehr angenehm zu laufen macht Wenn es etwas gibt, was ich an dem Schuh weniger schätze, dann ist es seine Performance in technischem Gelände. Hier habe ich das Gefühl, dass ich zu hoch im Schuh stehe und würde mir mehr Bodenkontakt wünschen. Aber dafür ist der Schuh ja auch nicht gemacht und es gibt andere Lösungen.

All terrain shoes for all terrain

These are my first norvan's and they're running pretty great out of the box. I've put quite a few kms on this on some crunchy terrain around Banff and throughout the river valley up in Edmonton. The drop is great and not too aggressive and I find it supportive for the running I do. I'm normally a 9US, 42EU and I found that I was tossing up between the 8.5US. I would recommend playing with the sizes as I feel I wouldn't hit it right on the spot with my normal US 9. What I really like is the sole - it's super grippy on the snow and rough ice - compared to the sole on the vertex alpine last year. It has given me a lot more confidence to do my spring and winter runs this year.

Too tight and too stiff for a long distance shoe.

Cool color, but otherwise I was disapointed with how rigid the shoe was, the insole was very stiff and the outer material wasnt forming to my foot, kinda held its shape too much. Switched to the Sylan pro and am loving it.
