A disappointment and a waste of money. Poor quality and it’s sad because they are soft and I really wanted to like them. The seams get caught on things and start fraying after the first wear, I took such good care of them too. They are also see through when you bend down, and the slightest little thing will rip a hole instantly in them and I have only worn them casually and mainly indoors to try them out. I’ve worn them maybe 5 times tops and they’re ruined already what a waste. I really liked the fit of them though.

Not a true RHO any longer

Very different than the last rho boot cut bottoms that I purchased. While the material is sumptuous, it is nothing like the former which was thicker and more fleece like. These are more like regular spandex with a THIN fleece lining. I have not tested them in frigid temps however it is noticeable how less warm these are simply by wearing them indoors, like a lounge pair. The former rhos could not be worn indoors bc they were too warm. The former touted for wearing below 60° and that was accurate. The new rho I am able to lounge in around the house. They are not as warm compared to the prior generation.
That said, they are comfortable however I think they are not as smart as the previous. Aside from being less warm, the (1) pocket on thigh now zips vertically, not horizontally. Therefore, anything placed in the pocket is liable to fall out of not zipped completely. Because this material is more stretchy (again, similar to spandex) it often takes 2 hands to zip up. The pocket is cheapened. Horizontal zipper is superior to this. Also, it runs smaller. The former rhos (I have 2) are a size medium. I needed large in these despite weighing the same. I have ordered an XL, too, simply to compare. Most likely I will keep as I prefer clothes fitted and not tight. No camel toes in these though. Pardon me if that is too honest. Also, old age prevents me from wearing items that cinch too much. The large even causes my back to ache occasionally , hence the XL en route.
I am 5’4” and weigh 133. Athletic build. 36C. 58 years old and still very active; ie: skier, bike, beach walker, yoga, hiker & overall mover. I have worn Arc’teryx for upwards to 2 decade and appreciate Arcteryx’ continued strive for excellence.
I do not think this generation rho reached excellence nor did it improve on the last generation that I bought. (Boot cut hasn’t been offered in years but I may have missed a generation?). Naming it something different would’ve delineated the differences more easily. This is nothing like the original, fleece-like rhos.
I do like the length. I will wear these more year round whereas the former rhos could not be worn year round bc they were so warm. The intention of this purchase was to replace the old however I will decidedly hold on to the old despite the worn out waist elastic bc they are so much warmer.
I am not photographer. Pictures attached in an attempt to show bottoms on a non model. When I raise my arms overhead (last picture), the stomach does not show. Bueno! High rise fits me to belly button.
Pardon the lengthy & scrambled review. The intention is to provide insight . Since I always appreciate thoughtful, thorough reviews, I wanted to contribute, too. That said, I wasn’t going to dedicate time organizing this review so pardon the mishmash of thoughts and I hope you get my gist.

Great Winter Legging

These are the best winter leggings! So warm and cozy, very soft.
The length is actually perfect, it's not too long like most leggings and breaks a little above the ankle - I am 5'6

Super soft but quality doesn’t hold.

Quality is questionable as finger holes appeared upon pulling them up due to the comprised stretch with the pocket on the leg.

Great fit but length could be shorter

I’m a longtime fan of the rho bottom and have been waiting for a boot cut version. I was delighted to see this return to the fit during the 2021-2022 ski season. The 2022-2023 season one frankly sucked and I returned it. I’m 5’10 and always wear a tall inseam so I was very disappointed at how long the boot cut went. It looks like I will still have to fold these up out of the way of my ski boots. I would love to see a version about 4 inches shorter to better accommodate ski boots and ski socks.

I purchased the Rho Boot Cut Bottoms for an extra layer under mountaineering trousers and ski pants. They haven't had either outing yet but they fit really well and they feel amazing on. They are lovely and soft! I love the shorter length, much better with ski and mountaineering boots.

Soft and strechy

Got them as a base layer for skiing, they have perfect lengths. Super soft and lightly warm material. I’m usually between sizes XS and S but got them in XS to fit more snugly.
