Light and versatile
vor einem Jahr
Used for a number of long and steep hikes (ie >7mi, 4000ft). Used with crampons on ice and steep snow, low 5th/4th class scrambling, muddy and slippery trails and I am absolutely happy with the boots. They are very light, waterproof and don't get hot. Solid climbing sole and excellent crampon compatibility. Hiking/walking stride is comfortable (enough flexibility). They are not warm however. In August alpine snow, after some sweating, your feet will get cool if you are into soft snow. Fine on glacier (ice) travel but definitely a 3 season boot. I don't think I could get thick socks in them.

Efficient Comfortable Boot

Great stiff and lightweight boot, not much breaking-in needed as they are comfortable out of the box. Work really well with semi-auto crampons. Waterproofing seems to hold very well so far in wet spring/snow conditions. Please keep making these!

Hooks are dangerous

I went to the breakfast in the hotel. The straps were loose, the hook on one leg got caught behind the other leg while walking and I fell on my stomach. I was lucky that I wasn't on rocks or stairs in the mountains. My legs were so tight that I needed another person's help to untie them. Hooks on boots are life-threatening. My cheekbone hurt for 4 months - a very strong concussion. I tell you that because you should improve your technology. This situation was life-dangerous.

Great boots

I owned the Arcteryx Acrux TR but they no longer do them, god only knows why as they were so good. I've recently received these and can honestly say they are great. People saying you get cold or damp feet just wear Smartwool socks or any merino wool socks, they take away any damp or coldness. I'm sure these will last years just like the Acrux I still own.

Solid piece of kit!

Great design with a sleek look. True to size, fit is comfortable. Lacing system seems solid so far! Sole is rigid and rubber is sticky. I am considering getting a second pair just in case they are discontinued or changed. I enjoy a well fitting boot out of the box and just by the feel I know the rand is much more durable than my Lowa Camino’s that I had. I don’t have a direct comparison but from what I see and how they fit they are an excellent choice for the price. If they are as durable as what I suspect, a definite second pair will be in order! Shipping was fast and customer service questions are prompt. Recommend this product!

Great all year boot

Great boots, I work in industrial area so always in steel toes with full shank so when I read some found them uncomfortable I was a bit worried, but they are great can stand on the toe if need, they work great with my snow shoes, and with my ice cleats will be putting them to real hard work this winter with some ice climbs

Fast and sturdy

This boot is light , sturdy , comfortable and warm without being hot.
The lacing system is very efficient with a lace lock, and laces long enough to tie at the top.
Aesthetically, they are also easy on the eye!

Durable, stable, water proof.

I bought these as a work boot on a horse ranch. They provide everything I need. Stability, durability, water/wind proof. The stiff but light weight allows me to get in and out of stirrups, muck, and climb around the barn with ease, as well as being easily wiped off.
