Question 7

How deep can I submerge my foot into water before getting wet?

Helio, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi Andrew, great question! The Kopec Mid GTX uses a waterproof GORE‑TEX membrane, which means the boot will keep your feet dry as long as water does not rise above the collar of the boot or seep in through the tongue when the boot is loose. The membrane blocks liquid from entering the shoes, so you can walk through puddles, shallow streams, rainy conditions, etc., without getting wet. However, it’s important to note that these boots are not designed for full submersion. When GORE-TEX footwear is pushed underwater, hydrostatic pressure can force water in through the upper opening.

Question 8

Is useful for winter?

Seymour, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi Beto, thanks for reaching out. The Kopec Mid GTX Boot is a waterproof mid-height hiking shoe that can be used in all four seasons. Its PFAS-free GORE-TEX protection seals out water and snow, making it ideal for wet or snowy conditions. We hope this helps!

Question 9

would you say it's a wide or medium fit shoe? I have wide feet but find Keens a bit too bulky. These ones look promising.

Luna · Accepted Answer

Hi Vlad, thank you for your question! The Kopec Mid GTX Boot is designed for a Comfort Fit, providing space at the toe and a less snug fit around the foot. While it’s not specifically a “wide” shoe, it does offer a wide toe box for room to splay. If you’re between sizes or prefer extra space, we recommend sizing up for a roomier fit. We offer free returns, so if you’re unsure, you can always order two sizes and keep the one that works best. You can find the details here: https://arcteryx.com/us/en/help/returns. We hope this helps!
